News: Gearbox's Pitchford Praises Wii U

Studio chief says the Aliens game on Wii U will be "the best looking console version"...

Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford has been talking up Wii U in anticipation of his studio's Aliens: Colonial Marines coming to the system.

Speaking with Gamespot, Pitchford made the headline-making claim that the Wii U version of Aliens would be the "best looking" console version.

He also very distinctly iterated that "Wii U is a next generation system", adding it is "very powerful" compared with Xbox 360 and PS3. On the subject of online, he added that prospective Wii U owners should be "confident" the system offers everything they'd expect, but emphasised that Nintendo should and would be the ones to divulge full details in due course.

Buggy/glitchy internet surfing

My computer keeps skipping all the time. Like when i'm scolling down a page it'll suddenly skip back up to the top of it's own accord. And keeps doing similarly buggy little things, it's very annoying. It's sort of always done this, but i've noticed it's worse in the past few days. I'm never really sure if it's the website, or my computer that has the problem.

I have Norton 360, which has a firewall as well.

Any ideas? ::shrug:

How much work do you do at work?

I've been in my first proper full-time position for just over 2 months now. One thing I quickly realised is that myself, and seemingly a lot of other people who are also starting jobs, have a lot of 'spare' time throughout the day to go on Facebook or here.

On average, how much work would you say you actually do a day?

I find a lot of the time that my boss will give me tasks to do and will think they take much longer than they actually do and he's surprised when I tell him I've finished them already.

Get the first look at Capcom's 3DS-bound mech-shooter...

Following on from yesterday's reveal, the first trailer for Capcom's EX Troopers has been released.

The game is being made for 3DS and PS3, and is loosely derived from the company's grittier third-person mech-shooter Lost Planet, but EX Troopers takes on a very distinctive anime style. The footage in the trailer seems to be from the PS3 version, but it at least gives us an idea of what to expect when it hits Nintendo's handheld.

No media specifically from the 3DS version has been released, but we do have some character art, which you can check out by clicking below.

EX Troopers is yet to be given a release date.

News: Capcom Announces New Shooter for 3DS

A surprise announcement for 3DS; a spiritual spin-off to Lost Planet...

The latest edition of Famitsu (via Andriasang) has lifted the lid on a brand new game heading for Nintendo's handheld. Ex Troopers is described as an "action shooter" and will be released by Capcom for 3DS and PS3.

Ex Troopers has an curious relation - it is described as having "the same world view" as the company's third-person shooter Lost Planet. However, it doesn't sound like the game could look any more different to Capcom's gritty shooter, with it apparently taking on a distinctly anime visual style and a "school-themed story".

Ex Troopers is being worked on by Shintaro Kojima, who has significant experience as a producer on the Monster Hunter games.

We'll bring you more on the curious-sounding Ex Troopers as it hits.

News: Mario Party 9 Stays Top in Japan

Sales take a sluggish turn in post-Golden Week blues...

The latest Media Create charts are out, and they're in somewhat jarring contrast to the previous week. With the Golden Week period now over, sales across the board were not only down significantly, but seemed to yet again enter the traditional May low.

It of course didn't help that there was hardly anything new out. Starhawk on PS3 was the only charting new entry at number 4, which meant the latest in the leggy Mario Party series stayed at the top spot for the second week running.

Almost half of the top 20 was composed of 3DS games.

If you're squeamish, it might be best to skip the hardware figures. Virtually everything took a huge drop from last week. 3DS stays top - almost by default - but with a figure notably lower than we've come to expect over these past months. Hardware figures will likely stay quite low until the likes of Capcom's high-budget Dragon's Dogma, and Mario Tennis Open and Dragon Quest Monsters for 3DS release towards the end of the month.

News: Just Dance Confirmed for Wii U

Cos there ain't no party like a Wii U party...

An Ubisoft earnings release has outed the news that the publisher's ludicrously lucrative dancing franchise Just Dance is heading to Wii U.

The company actually expects sales of the franchise to drop this year, but confirms that it is looking ahead to expanding the series "on new platforms like Wii U".

It also looks set to continue working with Nintendo to promote the games in Japan. Nintendo of Japan took control of localising and publishing the first game on Wii, and made it a surprise success over Christmas. Nintendo is handing a similar localisation of Just Dance 3 in the region later this year.

No word on when Just Dance will come to Wii U, but expect it not too long after the system launches later this year.

Lost Planet 3's announcement was a surprise (largely because the franchise didn't seem popular), and yet there's another Lost Planet game.

This time on PS3 and 3DS.

harvest moon snes

Hi
I have a question for the snes collectors.
This week i bought a pal Harvest moon cart for the snes.
Now when i played it i noticed the screentext was in English.
But it is not the Australian version (with the green label).
I did some research on the web and only came with a german and french version of the game (with the black label).
Now my question is ,is this a rare version of the game?

I hope to get an answer.

By the way ,the region code is SNSP-AYWP-EUR
