Hi, ive preordered Mario Kart DS on play.com and wondered what peoples experiences were from them on preordering, theyre pretty quick normally, but I want to play Mario Kart on the day of release and hear about people having the game delivered on the day and wondered if these were one of them that did that!?!
Cheers.

It varies, to be honest; sometimes they'll get them out early enough for you to get it on the day, if not before, other times it will be sent on the day of release.

I've preordered Nintendogs from them so I'll let you know when it arrives!

Im my experience, the item will usually either arrive on the Friday or the Saturday of release. About two of my orders (both DVDs) actually arrived 2 days before release, which was quite neat.
I would expect it to turn up on the Friday, but as YenRug has already said, theres just as much chance that it wont really.

I was really annoyed that they did the heads because I like my boxes to be unifored too, but then I realised they did the normal ones too and the heads were limited edition.
Getting both. Sad I know. Too much money clearly....

Gameplay.com are good for sometimes getting games to you on the day before release, and at the very latest on the day of release.

from my experience of pre ordering, play.com is very random... sometimes the day before, sometimes on the day sometimes on the monday when the game was released on the friday...
i like gameplay for pre-ordering of games they usually do get it to you on release or the day before sometimes 2 days before, ive never had a late one from them. but mind you, you do have to pay for delivery where as play.com is free.

Yeah my copy of Nintendogs is being picked and packed now at gameplay.. and as its gonna be sent first class, so it should be here tomorow!!!!!!!!
Oh and i know you have to pay @ gameplay for first class postage but because i buy loadsa games with them i get discount so i end up paying no postage and get a little off the game!!! all in all Nintendogs cost me £24.73

Play in my experience are risky if you want it for release day. For games that I want release day or earlier I always go with Gameplay. Needless to say I have Mario Kart pre-ordered with Gameplay.

I've never pre-ordered from play but I did order something and got sent the wrong item. I think, because the item I had ordered was out of stock they sent me another in the hope I'd keep that and buy what I really wanted from them!
Anyway, I told them I didn't want anything a went somewhere else and I've never ordered from them again!
(It might have been a genuine mistake but I'm not sure it was!)

Thats a shame - Ive used Play for virtually all my DVD orders (and the occasional game thats been uber cheap) and never had a single problem to my knowledge :( Im more inclined to think it was a genuine mistake to be honest, but its up to you where you shop :)

Does anyone know that if I currently preorder the Nintedno WiFi adpator for 15 pounds do PLAY have the right to increase the price as Ninty has revealed the RRP is gonna be around 30.
Thanks :)

Im pretty sure that (generally) the price you preordered it for is the price you pay; if theres a vast difference though Im sure they would rather refuse you for whatever reason than let it go at that price.

Woohoo, my copy of Nintendogs from Play is being packed at the minute. Dunno if it will arrive by tomorrow though. :hmm:
I preordered mine for £24.99 but I noticed that it's gone up to £27.99 on the website now.
EDIT: It's just been sent (4pm, 6 Oct) - it will be interesting to see when it arrives!

Extremely unrealistic, Saturday if you're lucky and Monday is more likely. You have to remember, they're based on Jersey, so it has to get to the UK mainland before it even enters the postal system proper.

I tend to pre-order all my games on Gameplay. Free postage on all games as well. The last game i pre-ordered was Prime 2 back in November last. I'm pre-ordering Mario Kart DS next week sometime

I doubt I will ever pre-order off play.com again. I preordered 2 things months before release and they came on the monday after, which was annoying.

To anyone else that has the USB Access Point pre-ordered from Play:
http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=stts4&page=title&r=DS&title=731691
Well I just had a look and noticed that its availability status has changed from "Due for release on 11/11/2005" to "Not currently available".
I reckon they're changing the date to the 25th, but do you think they will also change the price?
The date for Mario Kart on their site was changed a while back around the time of the announcement:

i noticed that, so i wasnt sure whether to order it or notYou can't order it anyway because the buy button has been removed.
My guess is they've realized the price is supposed to be £30 and so they took it off the site before any more people could order it at that price. However I still reckon anyone that did pre order beforehand will be e-mailed and informed about the new price, hope not though.
