Ok, so this is for people who watch Heores (from America at the moment)

Thoughts on the first few episodes so far? Absolutely incredible show, Hiro has to be my favourite character :D

It's a bout a group of people, who all have special superhero powers.
For example, Hiro can bend space and time with his mind, alowing him to teleport himself, etc.
Isaac can see into the future.
and Claire is indestructable.
oh and there's Niki, not really sure about her power yet.
and i forgot the flying guy's name...

Heroes is a serial saga about people all over the world discovering that they have superpowers and trying to deal with how this change affects their lives. The relatable superheroes include Peter Petrelli, a 30-year-old male nurse who believes can fly, Isaac Mendez, a 28-year-old junkie who has the ability to paint images of the future when he is high, Niki Sanders, a 33-year-old Las Vegas showgirl who can do incredible things with mirrors, Hiro Makamura, a 24-year-old Japanese comic-book geek who literally makes time stand still, D.L. Hawkins, a 31-year-old inmate who can transport himself through walls, Matt Parkman, a beat cop who can hears other people's thoughts, and Claire Bennet, 17-year-old cheerleader who defies death at every turn. Not only are they discovering what having superpowers means to them but also the larger picture of where their superpowers come from. Eventually their superpowers draw them together when they try to evade the series' antagonist who wants to harness their super-DNA for himself. Their ultimate destiny is nothing less than saving the world. The series will star Greg Grunberg (Alias), Leonard Roberts (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Milo Ventimiglia (Gilmore Girls), and Hayden Panettiere (Ally McBeal, Guiding Light). Tim Kring (Crossing Jordan, Chicago Hope) is the series' creator. The pilot is set to be directed by Dave Semel (American Dreams, Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, Beverly Hills, 90210). Heroes will be produced by NBC/Universal/Tailwind.

Hiro's warping to America for some reason also transported him 5 weeks ahead in time. He sees some kind of apocolyptic (nuclear ?) explosion and then transports himself back in time to the moment he originally came from.

I used to like Peter Petrelli, but he's SUCH a wet lettuce that I've already had enough of him. Nathan, despite being a bit of a wanker, is a cool charcter. I'm pretty fond of claire too, as well as being very purtee, she is nice and likeable.

Watched first 2 episodes and I'm still not really feeling it. All you internet people are in a state of euphoria about it, and I can see why, its enjoyable and I will end up watching all of it. (if it concludes in less than 3 series)

I do like it, but as people have said it seems a bit cheesy and just X-Men minus the suits.

Neverless, I'll hold real judgement until at least episode 5.

He needs to save the cheerleader because in order to defeat Syler and stop the explosion he needs to mimic all of them at the same time. Without invinsibility he'll die.

I think she's like The Hulk. she has a super aggressive split personality, super strength and when she wakes up she has amnesia. exactly the same as Bruce Banner. Course, the difference is in what triggers the change. the hulk comes from anger, while evil Niki looks to me like a personified survival instinct. If you think about it, every instance of her taking over has been while either her or her son have been threatened.

"Homecoming"

Syler, now that surrpised me, I do liek the I can sense peopel who are broken thingy, and I do like 2 therioes one being the brain eating.

Other I read was that he takes the brain, uses his power to find out how the brain makes the user do what they can do and clicks the thing in his own brain to be able to do what they can do much better then the brain eating even though that would be cool.

I think they were trying to establish that there is only one timeline in this series, not multiple ones. Because the girl didn't survive first time through means hiro couldn't have gone back in time and saved her because if he had then they'd never have seen her die in the first place!

The way things were, if he was able to go back in time and actually change the past then that'd create multiple timelines that would branch away from each other, one where his buddy has already witnessed her dying and one where he sees that hiro saved her.

The only problem with this is regarding future events because hiro travelled to the future, saw issac dead and saw some kind of explosion heading towards him which hiro presumes is the nuclear blast.

Either this means issac will die and some sort of explosion will occur or it means that when Hiro travels forward in time it is merely a shadow of what could be. The past is set in stone because if Hiro were to go back and change it then he'd only experience the changed present and never the 'original' present which in effect, never existed.

That's how I interpreted it anyway.

For popular examples, Back to the future has multiple timelines whereas the time travelling bit in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban only had one. The sole timeline is much more 'perfect' but a lot harder to write well which PoA covered brilliantly.

It's just the way American TV seasons work. Most take a Christmas break. It's weird for us to understand because their popular tv drama type shows work in a completely different way to ours. Most of their shows will be constantly in production and being filmed as episodes go out. Sometimes even random weeks are missed without any new episodes because they're simply not ready to be aired and need time to catch up (this happened a lot with lost season 2 in particular).

Our popular series usually have fewer episodes (6-9) and are all filmed before any are aired which is why they can be shown in uninterrupted streaks.

It could be a full episode that isnt episode 12. Its happened to me before...well a wrongly labelled episode.

I forgot about this show until I saw the title of this thread, I remember when I first heard about it I wanted to see it but never got round to it. I've just seen the first 4 episodes and I think it's absolutely brilliant. Unfortunately the site I'm watching them on doesn't have episode 5 so I'm gonna have to look around for it...

Is Heroes on tv on any uk channels now or soon?

[edit] I've just found http://www.nbc.com/Video/rewind/full_episodes/heroes.shtml where you can stream episodes - but only if you access it from America by the looks of it :( anyone know a way around that?
I think it's good that tv companies are allowing episodes to be streamed, the bbc does it too with shows like Extras.
