Free desktop blog software for OS X

It would seem that OS X has some excellent blogging software (ie software you can edit / add posts with on your desktop) but most of it (Marsedit, ecto etc etc) seems to be fee-based.

Does anyone know a decent, free desktop blogger for OS X? I need one that supports the MetaWeblog API

For anyone with OSX 10.4 or above, someone's pointed me in the direction of a great MetaWeblog blogger widget, that's freeware.

It's RapidMetaBlog (http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/blogs_forums/rapidmetablog.html) for anyone who's interested.

Why do you need desktop blogging? What's wrong with web-based, Word-Press style, that's all free and open-source at that.
