Meteos TV advert

I was listening to TV while typing in another thread when I heard a Meteos advert. It ended in the same way the Nintendogs one did with "Open up and play" in a white box.

Could we be seeing alot more advertising for DS titles soon in this style?

:hehe: OMG! I saw that advert too and I was like 'Woo, go nintendo'! I think its great that they are fianlly advertising when they need it the most, especially because peple seem to be interested in the PSP :weep: . Hopefully these adverts will be getting show more frequently as only a small percentage of people have seen them but it's still better than nothing. I'm guessing that one channle we'll see alot of adverts on will be channel4 because they got alot of DS backing there. Hopefully some good adverts during programmes like LOST should attract casual gamers!

you're completly right there. Nintendo advertises Meteos and Advance Wars with 'Balls Of Steels' and 'Spoons' but a programme like LOST would finally get everyone in the know....and heres something for you....Have you seen any PSP adverts on tv? ive seen none :shock:

The lack of PSP advertising seems to be a downfall for it, and a very big one. Alot of people know what the DS is but not the PSP, so nintendo really gotta start with bundles and adverts. I think Sony have too cocky this time, because my mate in canada said there was little to ZERO advertising there too, and DS sales are doing very well there now.

Nintendo have learned their lesson - I am beginning to see a much more agressive ad strategy, on TV, newspapers and on the Net (gamespot.com has a Advanced Wars DS ads on practically every war-based FPS video - which is A LOT of AW ads). A full page article in the daily telegraph declaring Nintendogs to be "the next big christmas seller" I think is a sign of things to come.

what you on about? everyone knows what a PSP is, you dont have to be a genius to work it out, i really think that nintendogs is going to be the killer app for the DS, i really hope so anyway, i know that im going to buy and i know one other person that is too.

Sure, hardcore and regualr gamers know what the PSP is but the general public don't know as much. My teacher was talking about it and all the girls knew about the DS and they didn't know about the PSP! i let em play Nintendogs and now 3 of my gal m8s are getting a DS this Chrsitmas so I like to say that I've done my help for this year. I don't really think GTA will have much an effect on the PSP for some reason. I dunno why, i expect it to sell loads but somehow i get the feeling that it won't be that great. But you never know! :D

I think it is safe to say that Nintendo advertising for DS will increase in the run up to Christmas. They're hoping Nintendogs is a new craze and that Mario Kart will provide the strong game for Christmas. They won't let them slide, especially as Gamecube is coming to the end of its run.

Once it's out I bet anyone on this board a tenner that Nintendogs advertising and competition prizes will be all over kids TV on a Saturday morning. Betcha!

The PSP don't even need any advertising, as it can just ride on the back of the PlayStation branding...................it's a household name, just like Birdeye Fishfingers.

And Sony have got no reason at all to advertise considering there's bugger all PSP's available in the shops at the moment.

Then there's Grand Theft Auto being released for it at the end of this month........and if Sony haven't got the hardware out to shops for it's launch, then they're going to expect alot of pist off parents this Christmas.

But any advertising coming from Nintendo is of course a good sign, considering their track record in the past.

LMAO, only advert for PSP is for FIFA '06 even though its on all other formats including DS, which probably plays better because of the two screens with tactics and everything etc. Even if PSP does play better, it is still the same game as the PS2/GC/Xbox versions, if not worst. Not exactly a system seller.

I saw that South Park, bu the new South Parks suck to be quite honest.

It was good, however, when in the old ones, Cartman tried to make money by other peoples teeth for a "Sega Dreamcaaaast!" Although it didn't work well for Dreamcast.

so yeah im just watching south park and ive seen 2 DS adverts, one was a nintendodogs ad and the other was the very cool meteos advert as someone mentioned in another thread, both were very good ads actually.

i also have been seeing a lot of programs that are "sponsored by nintendo DS" or similar, so it does seem nintendo are now pushing the advertisement campaign in the UK finally.

some of you guys were moaning that you havent seen any ads at all and was getting a bit worried but it looks like now ninty are finally pulling out their finger and getting on with it like they did when the GC launched.

anyone else seen any other adverts or advertisement like bus stop posters etc ??

Nintendo have a comedy campaining thing going on.

Something like the friday night show or something used to have at the end and beggining a DS sponsorship ad. The same was on Bear Tales.

ah thats it a bears tale is what i saw being sponsored by DS! i guess they have a deal with channel 4/E4 comedy or something ?
