Red DS + Mario Kart Bundle Confirmed!

DS Advanced today received official and confirmed reports of an upcoming Nintendo DS bundle for the holiday season.

The bundle includes a brand-new red DS packaged with Mario Kart DS. Apparently, the bundle will sell at a MSRP of $149.99.
The news comes straight from a recently held vendor's show, which included several sales keynotes from Nintendo of America themselves.

With the game releasing on November 7th, expect the Mario Kart DS bundle to release around the same time.

Might be a typo, but I wouldnt be suprised if they got it before us. I dont think there was an actual confirmed date for america any ways. Its just europe that has a confirmed date i think.

Mario Kart DS is gonna be heruge! I simply cannot wait for it to come out. It kinda signifies the start of the DS's life in my eyes.

Nice bundle idea, it makes sense to package the killer app with the console.

The Advanced Media Network would like to clarify that the upcoming Nintendo DS title, Mario Kart DS was incorrectly reported to have a release date of November 7, 2005. Currently, the official release date for the product is one week later, on November 14.


Blah, November 7tth would be so much better.

I wouldn't trust this news until Nintendo offically comes out and says it tho.

cool. I would prefer it if they released all ds colours out at one day, that would get sales going. Anyways cant wait till mario kart ds, it looks so cool, it would be good if the usb thing came with it. Hopefully a number one gane of the year.

But it could also be a bad gamble. Nintendo will need to research the american market, they cant just launch all the colours at one, sure some will get sales going, but some might of been a waste of money to manufacture.

I have the strange feeling this red DS will have a mario print on the top shell of the system, since Mario kart, mario ds?

And yes, Nintendo should be including the USB to attract even more customers, but then again the online service is free. God I'l hate Nintendo and Gamespy so much if I get a fricken topless babes popup during Mariokart!

why is this game keep being called a killer-ap... i see it simply as an online racer. No doubt it will be a great game, but it sounds godly by some people's descriptions.

Of course it's a Killer -App, people love Mario Kart and the fact everyone is giong crazy about it being online ups the fever even more! This game will shift millions and push the DS to be one of the top products this Xmas.

Even if you dont like the game you must see that!!

I cannot wait til Mario Kart DS comes out in the UK. This bundle will bring in people who have not yet got a DS and with more sales of the DS, it will make the DS one of the top selling consoles this Christmas

I wasn't talking about just the game; I'd like a black DS but there's no sign of it outside Japan, so far, and I'd almost certainly get hit on import duty getting one from say Lik-Sang or Play-Asia. The red DS would be an acceptable alternative and I could potentially trade in my original DS to bring the cost down.

Oh, Maxi, there's no confirmation/indication of this red DS bundle coming to Europe either, yet.

Partly true in one of your points. The Gamecube version allowed 8 people head to head, but you'd need a lan cable, an extra gamecube, and an extra 4 controllers and an extra game. So if you said its an easier and more efficient way to go 8 people head to head, that'd be true.

Yes, i am highly expecting the Red DS if true to have the Mario logo on the DS. But if they did this, I could see a Green DS coming at some point for luigi.
