View Full Version : Su Doku - Is this a no-brainer for Nintendo?

Does anyone else think that a DS version of Su Doku is an obvious candidate for expanding the userbase amongst non-gamers in the UK?
It's the craze that's sweeping the broadsheet reading adult population. It seems like a good fit with the stylus and touchscreen. New puzzles could be downloaded over the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection.
This must be in someone's mind at Nintendo cos they are pushing Advance Wars adverts in the Guardian by saying "If you like Su Doku, you'll like this twice as much."
Surely, given the success of the Brain Training games in Japan, this would be a sure-fire winner?

Why would they buy it though? There are plenty of free Sudo Ku programs on the internet and as you said, in the news paper everyday. You can even buy books full of them...

I think if you bought updates each month (all in DS cartridges) that cost £5 or something, and had 20 Su Dokus on them.

I saw an Ad where Nintendo was comparing Advance Wars DS to Sodoku. It was a particularly un-subtle Ad.

That's where Nintendo need to be imaginative. They need to give Su Duko a twist, something that differentiates it from the print versions and makes you want to buy it.

People buy the thousands of Sudoku books, so a cheap game with like, hundreds and hundreds of varied difficulty ones (also with 3d ones (rotating using stylus), the 12 by 12 ones...) for about £15 would be brilliant. A UK exclusive! Wouldn't that be a change!

It'd go through Japan first, it always does......

Neither would I, but if it helps nintendo, why shouldn't they do one?

or u can just go on teletext or get a newspaper with there daily/weekly sudokus (i like sudoku great while watching tv)
I love sudokus, if they were about £10 for a DS version with downloadable new puzzles then I would definitly buy it. ^_^

There's someone already making a Sudoku for DS. Of course that it's homebrew software, but it makes no difference. Never played it, but it seems interesting and could sell VERY well.

You wouldn't need updates, an random pusle genarotor could easily be put on the ds cart and have an invanite suply of them, all with touch screen ability, and the option for tips on the other screen ect.
