Sig / Avatar request thread [Read first post before requesting]

I’ve noticed that these threads seem to appear from time to time, so we could probably do with a dedicated thread, and here it is!

Please make sure you are specific when making requests, don't just say "I want a new sig" :heh:
Try to provide as much information as possible i.e.:

Overall concept for the sig / avatar
Links to any artwork / fonts you want used
Any text that is to be included
Required size of sig *Note maximum size is 500 x 150. For avatars it's 125 x 125. The combined file size cannot exceed 50kb, for more info on this please go here (http://www.revo-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2).

The more information you provide, the better your sig / avatar will probably turn out.

Anyone is welcome to create sigs based on people’s requests, just keep the rules (http://www.revo-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2) in mind when doing so.

As someone who's fulfilled requests in the past, I would appreciate it if people take into consideration the things in this first post. If possible, be as specific as possible. Here is an example of a perfect request:

Sig Text: Shorty
Theme: Eureka Seven (anime) details: Wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eureka_seven)
Extra Text: Eureka 7
Size: 370x125px
Shape: Regular rectangle
Colour scheme: White/Blue
Fonts: Futura Hv (Bold/Heavy), Georgia, /or artists choice
Images to use: 1 (http://static.flickr.com/46/133994173_bf476550d1.jpg) 2 (http://images.businessweek.com/ss/06/04/anime/image/psalms-of-planets-eureka-se.jpg) 3 (http://kurogane.animeblogger.net/image/misc/eureka.jpg)
Style: Clean, minimalistic

You don't have to fill out all of these, obviously - but I cannot stress enough that the more details you give, the faster you're likely to get something you want, and the more appropriate it will be. Anyone can search google for good images, you can at least start there. Remember that not everyone here will like "Bleach" or "Gears of War" so they might not know what a good picture will be, so provide links.

60%How to put a sig in place

There are two methods to putting a sig in, the first is to go to User CP > Edit Signature and scroll down to upload a sig. However this limits your signature options.

The easiest and infinitely more popular method is to host the image elsewhere (if someone has made you a sig, they've probably hosted it somewhere - but ask if it's ok to leave it there, in case it's temporary). If you need to host it yourself, somewhere like www.imageshack.us will be fine.

Either way you need the URL of the image. To find that, right click on the image once it's uploaded and find the option like "Copy Image Location". If you're using IE you might need to click on "Properties" then highlight and copy the "Address (URL)".

Now go to the space for editing your signature mentioned above. You need to use special BBcode on forums (your html won't help you here) - the tags are as follows:

However you need to remove the spaces in the first "img" tag. Remember to include the forward slash in the closing tag.

If you want to centre your signature, you use "center" (spelt the American way) tags either side of your signature code:

Hmm, can I request a Zelda sig and AV please (just been reminded by Triforce Keeper's thread :p)? For the AV, can I have the Majora's Mask with the background cut out, like my current one is. And for the sig, some blended Twilight Princess images like Dante's (I think) with the words "The Legend Returns" in gold letters on the bottom right corner. Too picky? Sorry.

The font on your sig Minihobbsch is the Animal Crossing one, it's called FinkHeavy as far as I can remember. As for tips well, the most important thing I think is to make good use of the layers. Try to keep as much as possible on separate layers so you can gradually build up an image that way, rather than keeping it all on one layer.

Other than that it's just a matter of practice I guess. I'm self-taught on Photoshop so I don't really know the program enough to offer much in the way of tips. :hmm:

You're doing everything right until you save. Once you have the image with the transparent background, click the rectangular button at the bottom of the toolbar which will take you into Image ready (it comes with photoshop). Then click file>save optimised as... and save as a gif.

Are you sure you selected "save optimised as" rather than "save as"? It's a different option entirely, much further down the file menu.

Thanks for the tip, I have been using photoshop for about a year now. Photoshop 7 for half a year, Photoshop CS2 for the other half.

What exactly are you doing? R-E doesn't force-implement signature restrictions, so you won't get an error message even if you do it wrong.

Save the image on your HDD, then upload it somewhere like photobucket.com or imageshack.us. Get the direct url to the image then head to your User CP in these forums, then the signature section (from the menu on the left) and put it like this:

[img*]http://www.imageurl.com/sig.gif[/img*]

Without the *** asterisks in the [img] tags, in the text box.

For example, my signature is hosted in my photobucket. This is a direct link to it: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y165/soap_box/asukarei_final.jpg

So, my signature reads:

Simply makes no sense to me... what browser are you using? Are you putting it in the same place as your current sig, the line about world fun? The code you're using should certainly work. If you can't do it, I'll ask an admin to put it in for you.

Fresh, I'm gonna throw this one out there

for a while i've been trying to find a horizontal pic of the Wii (ie the blue light sideways) to use as a sig. I have seen one somewhere, just don't know where, its a big pic zoomed right in on the blue light. I cant seem to find one anywhere. If anyone has one i would love for them to post it so Fresh could design me one of his ace sigs with that and my name in Dragonwick font again!

If you need a smaller pic for the mouth not to look blurred, just google image search billy talent 2, and you'll find a few pictures of it in different sizes. If anyone can do this for me, i'd love them. If you could do without the love part, that will be fine, too.

erm..never done this before! I would really like a Donnie Darko signature!

Mainly Jake Gyllenhaal as 'Donnie' and Frank the rabbit on it.

Black, White and touches of blue in a overall pop-art effect would be lovely.

The Frank pictures used can be the one where his looking on the side or face on, don't mind.

I particulary like Donnie when his in his hood and skeleton shirt, so a picture like that would be great!

Overall not to vivid, kinda gothic i suppose.
