oh yes!!! new scissors album coming out September 18 with the new single I dont feel like dancin' out a week before or available to download now if im not mistaken!

also the new video was premiered on Channel 4 this week

im abo-fucking-lutely loving this song right now what does everyone else think?

i love the video too, nice and cheap and weird and awesome!

Welcome to the darker Scissorhood!

Bit premature for the album me thinks (to be discussing it that is) but I'm looking forward to it. Was listening to DFLD this morning ebfore work and I was all upbeat, work killed the buzz but ah well.

The video is the usual surreal Scissor Sisters offering. I like the layering of things and the stop/startingness (people who have seen it will know what I mean)

Personally I prefer Filthy/Gorgeous from their first album. Everyone presumes Tits on the Radio is the rudest or whatever, but "You gotta wrap your fuzzy with a big red bow/and you know some bitch gonna treat me like a ho".

Plus when this came into work, we were very unsure about putting it onto the shelves;

oooo, i have that displayed in my room i loved the cover so much :D

theres a huge, HUGE! 8 page ish feature in the August issue of Attitude Magazine, with 5 different covers each featuring a different member of the band. i have the jake one just because its everywhere but the Ana one look sooo good!!

whos your favorite band member?

i adored the first album, i've had it on repeat for about 3 years now and its stil not old (mary aside). speaking of mary, she died of a brain anyurism (spelt so horridly) earlier this year :(

Apart from Jake and Ana, they all lack mainstream personalities anyway.

Hmm, I wouldnt say they lack mainstream personalities at all! Paddy Boom (drummer) smokes too much weed and parties. Babydaddy literally creates all the music, hes the silent genius. And Del (guitarist) is shy... I know they arent as loud as Ana and Jake but they all have a big place to fill in the band. Seeing them Live, and meeting them if your lucky enough, really does make you love 'em all, even the quiet ones.

I hated IDFLD at first. Elton John totally took over that track with his fat piano. But after a few hundred listens I love it, its the perfect summer track. Heard a bit of the new album Live and I have to say, it should be a worthy follow up to the debut. Already got 4 stars in the latest Q Mag, and like Takeo said, the latest attitude has an amazing interview and photoshoot. Go check it out.

on the subject of Attitude: did they ever do a feature on a club night in Sheffield called Razor Stiletto? I remember being there and a photographer from one of the bigger gay magazines came and took my picture. in retrospect, two straight guys posing together for a gay mag may have been misleading.

two of their album trakcs are pretty good-totally different feel to their first album, darker and more 70's, i think what im trying to say is its a lil less glitzy.

i hate Coo!!!!

go in almost an hour or something. should start a live session with scissor sisters playing take your mama. guess who was with them.

they played:
take your mama
(break)
laura
land of a thousand words
(break)
mary
i don't feel like dancin'

inbetween broadcasting ana and jake stuck around with the maybe 10 people that were invited to come along. ana recognised me, ran up and hugged me, and she was holding me hand and teaching me japanese, fucking nutter haha.

EDIT: oh and two more of the new album's tracks have leaked. shes my man, which sounds like a really bouncy disco'ed up 'laura' and land of a thousand words, a scissor sisters take on power-ballads which you can hear live on the link above. sounds like another really good album.

the album? its totally different TBH-its darker and more 70s style. just buy it in 2 weeks, its a must have album anyway, and i hear Q magazine loves it and so does attitude mag so i'm betting on it being good. probably not as good as the first but only because of how great it was-if i make sense.

This was advertised in one of the random free newspapers I picked up on my way to college. It was such a weird article so I decided to check out the site. Basically you upload a pic of yourself and someone else and it puts your faces on two people dancing to "I don't feel like dancin", it's a fun little distraction!

I dont really like EWTST, nor do i like Transistor AT ALL. Remember Return To Oz anyone?

Yeah the CD case is the start of something new, and pretty soon all new CD's will be cased in its modern sleek plastic. Its meant to be less snappable. We'll see ;) My Tiga CD came in the same case.

She's My Man and Land Of A Thousand Words are the next singles out, however i dunno what order they will be released in, i asume LOATW will be aiming for a christmas hit though.

Those of you still wanting tickets, keep your eyes peeled on the website. And anyone watch live from Trafalger Square saturday night? I WAS THERE ^_^ apparently it was a really bad editing job and they missed out hald the set list. Jake tutted at me hahaha.

1) Kiss You Off

4) Paul McCartney
5) She's My Man

OMG!!! those of you who didnt get the disc limited ed are missing out on the craziest most fantastic song i have ever heard (monkey baby aside)

Making Ladies is awesome and you should all spend another 15 quid or so to get it!

Ahh! I can't stop listening!

I love IDFLD still, She's My Man is fantastic, as is I Can't Decide. Not to fond of Lights and LOATW but Intermission is the best song ever! I love it so much, brilliant concept, brilliant everything!

I'm in love with Kiss You Off and The Other Side - the rest after Intermission don't really stick out, apart from Ooh, as fantastic but they're still very nice.

The bonus CD is worth it just for Almost Sorry - can't stop listening to it!

Transistor is the only bad song on the album and I think that Making Ladies is a bit to clubby - as is the remix, though I quite like it. Hair Baby and Contact High are fabulous though!

I want to see a big thetrical show with lots of dancers and explosions withthe album over the top. That's what I image when I listen to it.

i've had it on repeat while i've been marching up and down Oxford Road the past few days and i am totally in love with this album!

Have you come to uni in manc too then? Might have seen you marching up and down oxford road :p

Is the album any good because I thought about getting it and was casually listening to it whilest it was being played in HMV but didn't think that much of it. Loved IDFLD and the first album though.

yes you will adore the new album as it draws from similar influences to all their other work-namely electro pop, club music and the gay scene-soooo many references run through most of their songs.

i'd say get the 2 disc one as you get 5 extra tracks and a gorgeous GORGEOUS case for it.

yep i'm at uni of manchester-staying in lambert hall next to picadilly train station.

Just started listening, been pretty slow on the music-front lately. I'll be back with the verdict tonight. Loved the previous album, so this better be just as good. IDFLD is alright I guess, but not on par with the older stuff.

I want to go to Glasgow but I really can't afford to do it, and I wouold go on my own, making it quite dull I would think (not the gig itself, but the travelling and such).
