OK, so I just went into town to pre-order Advance Wars DS for tomorrow. As with Meteos last week, I'm absolutely dismayed by the lack of point of sale advertising for this game, which I would have thought to have been a key title in Nintendo's pre-Xmas push.

I'm in Bristol, and today I've been in 2 GAME stores, HMV, Virgin and Gamestation, and only one GAME store had any pre-order boxes. There was no advertising or hype for the game.

A quick glance down the sales charts for last week confirms that the awesome Meteos (which I already imported) has completely bombed at retail... no advertising for that either.

What's going on? Aside from a little Nintendogs stuff, Nintendo don't seem to be twisting the knife into Sony like they could be doing.

I heard that Meteos has sold well for the DS in Europe. I know that it's top of the chart for Play.com and gameplay.com albeit that's only for the DS format chart but still.

It seems as though NOE spent all there advertising money on getting Nintendogs name around by sponsering shows and such. No money left for Meteos I suppose

They should be showing this advertisement (http://www.nintendo.com/pop_video.vm?url=http://media.nintendo.com/mediaFiles/2VmShXv1EN8QIodcC1n3pMDjNeWVhfru.mov&width=600&height=420) on television. :)

I just checked in today's MCV - it's the top selling DS title last week, and yet it didn't even make the top 40 all-console sales :(

What a waste
