They were certainly not terribly friendly with the PS3:

Sony’s message is clearly that PlayStation 3 is not expensive at all, instead it’s a bargain. But this is rather like saying a Ferrari 430 is a steal at £127K compared to the Superamerica at £191K. We all like to dream but the full PS3 experience remains a stretch to afford, and tricky to justify given what Xbox 360 offers at roughly half the price. The game is officially on.
