yeah it is very annoying! as a star wars geek i went out and got a PS2 so i could play EPIII & lego star wars and have since got a couple of other star wars games and pro evo etc.

there are some games i want to play on the xbox but so far have managed to fight the urge to buy the massive beast.

I think that things are gonna change with the revolution. When developers see how well it's gonna sell, they'll port all the ps3 and 360 games and make exclusives too. It's happening with the DS. Look at all the games it's getting.

I've only got a cube now (I sold my PS2 a while ago) and I don't think it's that bad. I've already got Fifa 06 (and Sonic Gems ahem) on the way, and I've got my eye on GUN and King Kong, not to mention the actually-quite-good-looking True Crime 2. I don't have a great deal of cash (or time) to spend regularly on games anyway, so that's about enough for me. I do agree that Burnout should still be on GC. Surely there are enough active users of cubes to justify the port.

Then again, I don't think any of us would feel this bad if Zelda was still on for Xmas. It doesn't help that Nintendo's own winter line up is possibly the worst I've ever known from them. You'd have thought they would've had a back up plan better than Geist! Bring back Rare....

I thought the reason that Domster mentioned he had all consoles was to say it didn't really bother him about the games not coming to the 'Cube (as Platty said). So IMO it does have relevance in this thread.

To be perfectly honest I bought a GameCube to play exclusive Nintendo games. But, yes it does sometimes bother me when GameCube doesn't get some games. But what can you do?

I've gotta agree with "the_villa" that it is very annoying when games are only announced for the PS2 and Xbox and not for the GC. And lately it's been happening alot more compared to earlier days.

I've been seeing more and more adverts on the telly, practically shouting in my face, "ONLY ON PS2 AND XBOX!!". It pisses me off. Not only does the GC continue to lack 3rd party support, it really misses out on some really good games for loyal Nintendo GC owners. Some that come to mind are the Burnout games, Conflict series (good in my opinion) and others I can't be bothered to think of.......oh and the mighty Pro Evolution Soccer series.

Good that I got a PS2 then eh? :D

In all seriousness though, I really think that gamers today should own 2 consoles, as someone else mentioned, a combo of PS2/GC is great. I think it'll be the same in the next generation. A revolution for the classic ninty games and a PS3 (or xbox 360 - depends what you like) to keep you busy most of the time.

Just as long as you have a decent PC and a Gamecube, you won't be missing too much. Just the odd PS2 exclusives (the Final Fantasy Games.../weep) will pass you by. Most multi format games go on PC anyway. Plus PC has a fair share of amazing games which you wont get on any console! Plus fps are so much better on PC :D. Personally I'd rather miss out on Final Fantasy than miss out on Mario, Zelda, Pikmin...etc.

Rare isn't really the best example one could give when it comes to quantitive gameproducing, is it? They were only responsible for less than 1% of Nintendo's software yearsales (1rst, 2nd and 3rd party included). Not too impressive. Great games though... A shame.

I completely disagree. Nintendo Rev will be very awkward for developers to make A GAME FOR. ONLY 2ND PART AND SOME 3RD PART GAMERS WILL MAKE THEM.

Yeah it is a bit dissapointing that games don't come out for the cube that are on different consoles. But i don't mind, as the GC has got a library of great games already, including games like Metroid Prime, Super Smash Bros Melee and later on, Twilight Princess.

They do. If a game is blatantly not going to sell much on the GC, there's no point in putting it on there, because it costs more money, and not many companies are willing to spend money on something they won't get much money out of. >_>;

Unfortunately the costs of making games on any console are so high, that publishers are very wary of backing any console without a strong chance of decent sales figures (and I'm talking at least 100,000... maybe much more).

The Cube is the most expensive console to print discs for and license, and has the lowest sales figures by some way. Publishers are risk averse and purely interested in the money... if Nintendo want to make it worth their while, there's scores of developers who'd jump at the chance to work on a Nintendo platform.

I can't believe the shoddy quality of some of the posts there............I expected alot more from the official Codemasters forum. But I have to say, Codemasters titles are generally average nowdays, so it's no great loss.

For the last 4 years or so aswell they've been going through financial difficulty, so they can't really defend their choices in the past as being the right ones.

Exactly, GC's image and lack of advertising means it's risky to try and sell any game for it really. It's already been taken off most of the shelves in HMV, GAME etc. I don't think the developers have it in for Nintendo as a company, it's simply not good business to try and sell a game on a failing console. Why do you think the DS is getting so many games, it's selling like hot cakes.
