Where did you play it?

How does it compare to the FIFA games on the GC? Buy it over Advance Wars?

DiemetriX

I work in a gamestore in Norway. Advance wars is probably a better choice.
I haven't played Fifa on cube,ps2 or xbox so i dont know. But it's the best multiplayer fun i'v had with my Ds ever :)

Ontopic : It's good for that the DS now has a Fifa game, these game usually sells. I'm no soccer fan, though.

Offtopic : DiemetriX - Yay, more people from Norway.

Sweet, I wanted to know how good this game was because info about it has been very scarce. Wondering does it take advantage of Touch screen??or Dual screen?? Info would be much appreciated!!!!

The screen shots I've seen show the map on the bottom screen, everything else is on the top.

If Fifa on DS is good, then why can't they make Pro Evo DS :red:
Online will make it perfect too, oh konami where is it?

It's supposed to be better than the home console versions isnt it?!

DiemetriX

I love tha map on the lower screen, I use it all the time. And when ther's replays you can change camera angels ans such. The touch screen is also used when changeing formation. The touch screen is well used :) not gimmicky and not forgotten.
Oh and ther's Full blown music on the menus :) good work EA.

Not to hijack you Fifa thread but I have played Pro Evo on the PSP and I believe it would kick Fifa's ass no matter what platform it is on. I haven’t played any handheld version of Burnout but unless some big changes have been made Winning Eleven Ubiquitous Edition wins hands down.

Pro Evo is clearly the greatest footy game ever. A million times better than Fifa. HOWEVER, it isnt out for the DS so Fifa is a good possibilty, I respect your opinion on everything Diemetrix, you're one of the best posters here in my eyes, HOWEVER :) saying you're not a football fan doesn't fill me with confidence, and that youve never played the console versions - I mean, footy lovers (like myself) may hate it!! :)

And answering all the questions would help in my decision to get this - how many teams does it have?

DiemetriX
28-09-2005, 08:14 PM
[Tnx dazzybee, that means alot]

I'll answer all the questions tomorow.
I don't know the number. But i know all the known teams from Norway are there. It looks to have just as many as the console counterpart (not that i would now :P) .
With multicard Multiplayer ALOT of teams open up. I guess all your favoruit teams will be there.
In singel card multiplayer only the internasjonal teams are selectable.

Just post as much questions as you want. I will answer them all (if i can) tomorow.

I suppose as long as its got the premier league and my beloved Spurs on it thats all I care about, but the console version has even the 4th division on there (or league two).

I wouldnt get the console version but if this is AS good as the console version Ill get this!! Any reviews about yet!?

Cheers Diemetrix, I suppose you wouldnt know from a little go, but does it look like it has a lot of moves?

are the graphics better than madden?

Hope it is not too easy.

oh and Konami did say that Winning Eleven would be released on the DS. Just hope they havent changed there minds since then.

Why aren't there any reviews for this game? To me that is always a bad sign. But I think it's more to do with the fact that there aren't really any big English versions of IGN and Gamespot which run independently and aren't linked to a magazine. If IGN was English this would have a review up by now

I find it worrying that EA have not released any vids or even more info about this game. it is out tomorrow and i have no idea what to expect from it.

If they would of showed some new pics and videos I would of probably picked this up. I'm going on holiday on wednesday so this would be quite nice but without any evidence to support whether this game is any good or not has put me off.

Only problem is that you've already said you're not a football fan. Meaning you probably haven't played PES or are in the right position to compare them both. Thanks anyway.. i'm considering ordering this today from Play

Thats total wank, I'm skint, and what little money I have I'm saving for Collectormania. Then Advance Wars and this (which oddly looks rather good) come out. And Nintendogs soon.. grr. I need a job.

What did the other people who were playing with you think of it? I seem to remember all FIFA games are really easy even when the computer's on "World Class".

All sounds good, If I have time I'l go up to newcastle and sell Nintendogs to Grainger Games (I recon I'll get £20 easily). Then that plus my tenner = Fifa and some multiplayer fun =)

If I can be arsed that is, I might just wait till Saturday, or I might even wait for a review (shock horror) =]

Create a team seams right. U mostly use the touch screen for the map but also for choseing some simple tactics.

Just made my own team:) The logo creator is realy good. About as good as mspaint without copy paste.

dazzybee
29-09-2005, 09:10 PM
Okay, im picking this game up tomorrow - ahead of Meteos, Castlevania and Advance Wars. And i didnt even think about getting it till yesterday. I know it wont be as good, but im really busy at the min so dont have time for games like wars or castlevania, plus im stillinto nintendogs. BUT I can always play footy games!! And if I dont like it I can take it back :) Winner!! Ill post impressions tomorrow! Though I dont really like fifa games, but on a handheld im sure it will be pretty fun!

The more i play the more i like it. I have played it more than AW now :|
Beginner is very easy.. but haven't tryed the other settings jet.

dazzybee
30-09-2005, 01:33 PM
Hmmm, at the min I'm not that impressed - it plays quite similarly to ISS on the GBA. The graphics arent that good - the animation for the running is hilarious!! The keepers are crap too. I hate the buton layout - shoot and cross need to be swapped around - its stupid that you cant change the controls!

Also, the squads are quite out of date - it came out after August 31st - surely they could have done all transfers from then! And unlike the console versions you cant move players from different teams!!

Only had a couple of goes though - its okay, but slightly disppointing!

Ill update when ive played it more!

DiemetriX

Good to hear your opinion :) As you play soccer games i guess it's more acurate than my meaning.

Charlie

What are the buttons?

dazzybee
30-09-2005, 11:39 PM
Well, Ive played it a bit and I'm taking it back in the morning :) Its really really bad!

The buttons are B Pass A Shoot (Stupid) Y Cross and X Throughball

Pressing L makes them all loft and one twos the pass.

The game is just awful though, horrible to control, the players can run for a bout 3 seconds, the teams are out of date - Atoubas still at Spurs and he left near the beginning of the summer!! The keepers are awful and t does the classic fifa way of when you put the difficulty up it makes your keeper worse and you passes go astray!!

You cant have a nice passing game, you REALLy cant take ANYONE on because tackling is too easy. Its just shit!

Oh well, Ill get a carry case instead, or be inspired and get Avance Wars though i dont have time to play something as epic as that yet!!

You still nejoying it Diemetrix? Glad someones enjoying it! :) To be fair to the game the create a team function seems pretty good, and theres loads of teams and modes.

HOW and why the FOOK wud u compare Fifa to advanced wars or mario???
thats bollox.
if u like footy games then fifa and iss will most likeley be the only 2 footy games available on the ds so you wont have much choice.

dazzybee
03-10-2005, 03:10 PM
I don't think he was comparng them, I think its just a case of rather going with advance wars than a shit football game - wait for Winning Eleven!! PLEASE KONAMI!! Don't make me get an XBOX 360!
