Yup, theres no coding at all. Only DVD movies have region locks on, it'll work. I've imported games lots, have fun!

What about games that are on a DVD-ROM though (or whatever you call, maybe just DVD still)? They won't work, right?

They will work fine. The region encoding is down to the video, not the DVD.

One of the main reasons for region encoding is because of the differences between PAL and NTSC etc. You won't get that problem on a pc game so theres no reason to encode them differently.

Exactly as the others have said. The only thing to sometimes remember is that if you're importing a Special Edition of a game or something that might come with a bonus DVD which could just be interviews or a "Making Of" (like with FFX and MGS2 on the PS2), these may be region encoded.

But to be honest most of the time these will be region 0 and will work in any DVD player.

Only stuff that uses a TV has region encoding, with the exception of PSP UMD movies. On that note, anyone know why UMD Movies are region locked? Seems daft to me

I played a program similar to GSP Face. Didn't work.

It is down to the DVD, not the video. You can get both NTSC and PAL discs for a variety of regions and region 0 (region free). The company that makes the disc choses the region it is set for, and that setting is independant of the video format. The region encoding is used to give movie companies control over what comes out where and when.

But PC games don't encorporate region encoding and neither does PC hardware (The latter probably being the reason for the former).
