I was wondering how "pick up and play" Meteos was. I was thinking I could get it instead of Another Code when I go on holiday, depending on how fun it is. Can you pick it up and play easily, is it fun and addicitve?

Please post your opinions!

But all you do is switch around blocks? Right? How can that be fun?

Its super fun, saying that all you do is switch blocks is all you do in tetris and lots of other puzzle games but everyone loves tetris right? Although its not a game I play for long periods, its perfect for killing short periods of time but acn still be fiendishly addictive.

Hmm, is it as addictive as Tetris? And is it frustrating? Is there some sort of weird "makes no sence" story mode like in alot of puzzle games?

Ok, I think I'll go with this game after seeing all the good stuff said about it throughout the internet.

Am I the only person who doesn't enjoy this? It's silly when you know that moving the blocks up and down really fast will get you better results than playing the game properly. I really don't like this game at. Feel really let down considering the high praise it's been recieving from guys on the boards.

How about not "scrubbing"? You might enjoy the game more then ¬_¬

You could always drop the difficulty down too, to get your teeth into the game. It's the first game I played for the DS that was a "must have" and hasn't left my DS since I went to the states. The vs. Mode is supurb as well.

Yeah, I would say so. The "story" is totally tongue in cheek - nothing that actually exists. You are playing to unlock more content, beat high scores and defeat higher and higher difficultly levels.

What I would say is that Meteos is much more of a twitch gaming game than most puzzle titles. You really need to master juggling blocks in the air, flicking blocks off the deck into those mid-air and so on, to get the really big scores.

Like all of Mizugushi's games, there's a heavy emphasis on audio and visual tie-ins to gameplay, with every planet effectively "re-skinned" with new music, new looks a slightly different play area and - more importantly - different gravity and rules. You'll need to combine blocks in different ways to get them out of orbit on different planets.

I presume you know all about the "blasting off" nature of the gameplay?

It really is a supurb title. Whilst it's not quite got the finesse of Lumines (EDGE likened it to a small girl running about in her sister's high heels) it still is obviously from the same stable, and does also have its own quirks and gameplay highlights.

So because of incredibly bad design flaw in the game I should change the way I play it? It's just so stupid. It's not as though it's cheating but when I get in trouble in the game you can't help but just brush the thing up and down on the controller to get yourself out of trouble.
Really let down by the game and can't believe how much high praise it's recieved by everyone

So you can get the highest scores by just rubbing the screen? Is this true? Thats a bit crap if so. I was going to swap my Fifa for it tomorrow, but I think I'll just take the money and run.

Is there a highscore mode or just the levels?

Not purchasing this game would render you retarded.

That is all.
