IGN (http://media.wii.ign.com/media/748/748589/imgs_1.html) has added more zelda:tp images.
But this image looks very weird to me.

mmm... Widescreen :D Link expression is like "Meh fuck this shit" I didn't think they'd be able to pull of such great expressions with these models great work.
Link looks very embarassed...
I've heard that a lot of people are going to buy BOTH versions of the game. Is there any real point in this?

This may be a dim question but I haven't seen anything around that answers it. Apart from the control system is there any difference between the two version? Graphics, content, anything confirmed?

I'm one of those though. This may be a dim question but I haven't seen anything around that answers it. Apart from the control system is there any difference between the two version? Graphics, content, anything confirmed?not anounced at this time... Zelda TP was running on a GC on E3 (and it was the only game at that), but nintendo stated that the GC version would probably be stripped out of the 16:9 anamorphic screen option, that might be Nintendo trying to shift more Wii versions or a matter of framerate at parts of the game, the game shown at E3 was running at a stable 30 frames per second, but with more detailed enviments and such it might dip.
Anyway... no graphical diferences appart from that were announced.
As for content... there is some sort of "online" mode for Zelda TP, nintendo didn't say more than that though.

Those sakuras look beautiful :D but I don't like the look of the 2D texture trees on the top of the hill/limit of the scenario... it would look better without them actually.

It was probably the most amazing moment ever; especially when you consider that Nintendo never even gave out a hint that they would show a new realistic zelda...All I remember was hearing rumours about Wind waker 2, so i wet myself (twice) when they showed this.

Another thing I can confirm is that you will also see Child Link in Zelda: Twilight Princess in the form of a memory flashback rather then playable. According to TSA the flashback ties into the end of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. According to TSA the game takes place over several years so this is why I believe that the Link in Zelda: Twilight Princess is the same as in Zelda: Ocarina Of Time. I will still leave this as speculation for now. On TSA's website he has a picture of the Hylian Loach which makes a second appearence in Zelda: Twilight Princess:
Now, don't forget the spoiler tags when commenting this one...

Changing seasons would be superb and imagine that some things can only be done during certain season - this game gets more and more epic by the minute.
Responding to PedroCasilvas spoilertag:
If it happened after OoT that means actually after MM because adult Link is as old as this one and child Link travelled through time to the future so it can't be set in between since he has been in the chamber of Sages for seven years.
Whenever it will be I like the idea of flashbacks, should make for some very emotional moments seeing past Zelda games.

Yeah but there is the theory of 2 timlines. One is the Hyrule with Link as a kid after OOT then the other is the Hyrule after Adult Link saved Hyrule in the future. Indeed though you are correct in saying that the MM Link is OOT Link, does anyone know the time period between OOT and MM?
Tellyn
03-06-2006, 12:01 PM
Majora's Mask Link is Ocarina Link. Link returned to child form near the end of OOT, and a story inbetween tells that he lost Navi. It is Link because he still has the Ocarina of Time and his sword. I have a theory though that Majora's Mask takes place before OOT, because Link becomes a child again, and if time reverses, then his adult self is still on the quest to save Hyrule.

Let's not go into the timeline again :p
There's already a thread for it here:
-> http://www.revo-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5982
(post your theories there if you will ;))
If it really ties with OoT ending we are talking about that specific moment, not MM, we must be talking of Hero of Time in his prime as a adult, after defeating Ganon?
-------- now it's time for speculation --------
Maybe the child looked at him and thought "wow I wanna be like him" while Hero-of-Time gave out a cold, indiferent stare at him.
Also... did this child see Ganon up front then? how cool would be that when this child as a adult finally sees Ganon again in Zelda TP?

Which Hero of Time are you talking about Pedro? The child Link or the Adult Link? It was the Adult who beat Ganon but saying that it was still really the Child Link when he went back in time. I mean he was still the Hero of Time....Zelda timelines and the different Links give me a headache. I wish Nintendo would sort it out, then again at least it gives us something to talk about on the net.

In the encounter I was talking... child link would be the one from TP the future to be hero, whereas the adult link would be... Hero of Time... on it's prime.
I think that would be the best possible setting, a child seeing a hero like that could only feel admiration...
And if the child met/saw Ganon he would be petrified, it would be dynamic to re-harsh him fighting that fear/trauma years after

It's just that I think the timeline won't ever make any sense. It's called the Legend of Zelda for a reason. Legends are just stories that are passed among generations of people. Zelda is something like that, it's a story about a hero. Due to being told a lot the story changes over time (or new stories are being created), which gives us different games starring multiple Links. I'm not saying it's like this with all Zelda games though, some games do influence eachother storywise (like how WW is set after OoT).
That's just how I see it, and I hope anyone can understand what I have just typed.

I doubt it's the final overworld music at this point, it's from early 2005 after all and I dont think there was any direct confirmation it was real in the first place, none of the demos of the game ever let you explore the overworld normally or anything, just fight on in an intense battle.

I'm curious, how are all you guys going to react if this game ends up being a 9/10 game on average? Would you feel that you have wasted your time building anticipation for this game in this 2000+ posts forum topic that ends up scoring inferior to Wind Waker with both critic and user reviews? This would be a pretty sad outcome and i'll be extremely disappointed if this were the case, considering the lengthy delay this game has had in order to "improve" it... :nono:
Regardless of the outcome, whether it'd be positive or negative, it'll be an essential purchase for me without a doubt. But I am really hoping that this game can at least get into the top 5 for the all time greatest games on sites such as gamerankings.com and metacritic.com and knock off overrated games such as Grand Theft Auto and Metal Gear Solid further down the list and perhaps even pass the great fighting game Soul Calibur on Dreamcast.

Very True, in fact most of the music in LTTP was amazing. I just recently played through it again and despite being the easiest of the Zeldas ( beat it 100% in around 8-10 hours ) it is still my 2nd favourite after OOT.

Mogitate Tingle Bara Iro Rupee Land Infomation
The DS title, which takes place in the era of The Wind Waker, is titled in Japan as Mogitate Tingle Bara Iro Rupee Land. In Tingle RPG, you play as the Tingle from The Wind Waker before he becomes...well...Tingle. And Tingle is single. Aparrently Tingle gets word he has to head out to some spring, and along the way he meets a guy named Rupeeji, which IGN says translates to "Old Man Rupee" Tingle learns that by collecting rupees and tossing them into the spring (just like in A Link to the Past), he'll magically open a path to "Rupee Land". When Tingle accepts the Old Man's quest, he is transformed into the horror we all know as Tingle.
Tingle has to utilize money in order to help out members of villages, to pass through obstacles and other stuff. However, beyond these simple tasks, not much else is known about the game.
But wait, it gets better. There is a women fairy named Pingle, who hangs out at Tingle's house, and has a relationship with the Tingle-meister (maybe he's not gay, but judging from the above screen, we now have some serious concerns about Pingle). Nintendo will be release details soon as the game is slated for a 2006 release in Japan.

The new Nintendo magazine and DVD is great. But if you've seen most the Vids from E3 you would have seen most of whats on the DVD. But there are vids taken first hand by the staff. Definitely worth the money I think.
Zelda is looking more beautiful with each sreenshot. Honestly if the graphics are the same on the Gamecube and Wii I'm pleasantly suprised with what the Cube can do. Is anyone here going to buy the Gamecube version? I might have to get both.
Why would you get the gcn version if you had the wii version? The controlls are practically the same: its still A and R (C or Z on wii) for context sensitivity and B for sword. The only differences is that instead of aiming with the analogue stick, you aim with the wiimote. Getting both is a waste of money.

Now Tingles DS its called Fresh Tingle's Rose Colored Rupee Land.
June 8, 2006 - Nintendo's Tingle RPG is no longer vaporware. Nintendo has at long last shared first details on the new DS offshoot of Zelda: Wind Waker, properly known in Japan as Mogitate Tingle Bara Iro Rupee Land.
First, an explanation of that name. The title translates to "Fresh Tingle's Rose Colored Rupee Land." If Nintendo of America had translated Tingle's name as Tinkle (which is how the Japanese name is written in the first place), this would have been the best title ever. If Nintendo had further decided to make this game for the Wii, our work day would've ended early today (although it should be noted that the Japanese don't apply the same connotations to Wii and Tinkle that we do).
We'll refer to the game as Tingle RPG from here on.
In Tingle RPG, you play as the Wind Walker treasure specialist when he was 35 and single, before his transformation into Tingle form. The main character gets word that he ought to head out to a spring. He does so, and along the way, he comes in contact with Rupeeji, a name that can be translated to Old Man Rupee. Rupeeji tells the main character that by collecting rupees (which, in case you aren't into Zelda, is the currency of Hyrule, the kingdom in which the series takes place) and throwing them at the spring, he'll be lead to the dream land of Rupee Land. He accepts the quest and, through a magic spell, gets transformed into Tingle.
We're not quite sure what Tingle RPG is all about just yet. Money will play a big part in the game, though -- that much is for sure. You'll have to give up money in order to please the members of town. You'll have to give up money in order to pass through gates. What exactly you do in town once those townfolk are pleased, and what lies beyond those gates, are mysteries for now.
Tingle has a guide in the game, a girl fairy called Pingle (this name would've been Pinkle if Nintendo hadn't been shy with its original naming). Pinkle appears in a monitor in Tingle's house. Her relationship with Tingle is unknown, but it seems as though shell greet the hero at the end of each work day.
Obviously, Nintendo's left us in the dark on quite a bit regarding Tingle RPG. The game is still set for some time in 2006, though, so we expect solid details soon enough.

Advantages of Wii over Cube version:
1, it runs at 60fps instead of 30fps.
2, It will have some better graphical touches such as water and fire effects (apparently).
3, You probably will be able to use the GCN pad.
4, Its pretty, new and on a huge DVD disk :P

Where have you found the 60 fps news Jordan?
James McGeachie
09-06-2006, 12:42 PM
None of that is news, it's just natural assumption. In that recent EGM or whatever interview Aounuma said there'll perhaps be "slight graphical upgrades", which makes sense since they have the ability to do so and it'll help the game look more appealing to people. The most obvious upgrade would be a smoother framerate (60fps instead of 30fps) though it's likely there'll be other updates too like improved effects, lighting and what not. On the other hand, there very likely wont be higher polycounts or higher resolution textures.

I kinda agree. I just wish that would tell us a Wii launch date and pirce now. I understand them wanting to be really ready to confirm it but i think there taking the mick a little now espicially after delaying a game they said would come out last November (for sure, supposadely) and then not telling us when it's still going to be released a whole 7 MONTHS later, i mean talk about making us wait....
I'm still bitter! :hehe:
It be worth it though; i know, but people do need to set-out there money etc... and what to save ready for launch and telling us two months before it's released (announced probably end of August, released end of October beginning of November) isn't long enough! When you go to twilight princess for gamecube, the screenshots they show are still with the black&white look for the twilight world. There are no screenshots for the Wii version, but we've all seen those screenshots with the bloom effects.

What is your favourite Overworld theme on a Zelda game?
For me its the one from A Link To The Past as its the classic Zelda tune from the original game but better. Plus it was the first Zelda game I ever played so it always brings back good memories. Sure Majoras Mask had a version in of it but it wasnt the same.
A close second would be Wind Wakers tune. It just seemed so right skimming across the ocean with that music playing and the way it faded in and out when an enemy attacked you was genius. This song helped alot when searching for the Triforce pieces.

Yes they are.
My question was : did they use the old images because they couldn't be bothered to update them, or because the GC version will use the old graphics and the new ones that use bloom are only for Wii ?
Dcubed
16-06-2006, 07:23 AM
Probably just didn't bother to update them. The E3 trailer was from the GCN version and it looked the same as the Wii version graphics wise.
The answer is that it's not using bloom. The only difference between Wii and GCN is controls and some parts of the level design; graphics wise there's widescreen and maybe 60 fps but that's it.
The effect on that screenshot in the Twilight World is a simpler shader effect that the Cube can do. The Metroid Primes used it too.

The camera does seem to be a bit zoomed out more than in the previous games, but it shouldn't make much of a difference.

True, just when I read that the tune started to play in my head. I was like "Ahh F*ck!" It is one annoying song, and that baby from MM doesn't help it one bit, unless it wants to help it be more annoying, if so then congradulations they did it.:wtf:

Has anyone here got Minish Cap? It's such a great game, a classic Zelda storyline but it's been overshadowed by Link to the Past and Wind Waker. I just beat the Fortress of Winds, got the magical boomerang through a lot of Kinstone trading, got the Ocarina of Wind and am trying to open the path to the next dungeon in the library.

Yes I have it. It's truely a very good entry and the minish things is better implemented than I could imagine. It also captures that WW style. :yay:

The Minish Cap is what I'm playing for the second time again now and I think it's not that great at all. Love the graphics and the settings but there's too much " what the fuck do i do now " going around in that game

Does anyone know how to get into the Goron place? When I get Kinstone trades I see that Gorons are breaking into some tunnel, and more keep joining them to help. But theres a hole blocking with a rock to roll into it on the OTHER side. I just got the Power Bracelets, and I have no idea how to help the Minish push the book down into the scholars house.
The Goron tunnel isn't part of the main game (I think, I completed it a while ago) but I think you get a useful item from it.
The cave is in the Lon Lon Ranch region. To the right of the cave the is a small cliff which you can jump off into a tornado, sending you into the air, where you can then direct yourself over to the left onto a nearby cliff where the cave is (you will have to watch your shadow in order to make it over).

I know!
The games gonna rock but i'm really dissapointed in Nintendo with this one. I think we have waited long enough for it and i really don't know whats taking them so long to announce a launch-date and price for this and Wii.
The only good thing about hearing nothing, is nothing is spoiled and it will be great when you get your hands on it.
I just wish Nintendo would say the Wii and Zelda etc.. are out November ''6th'' 2006 and be done with it.

Guys stop whinging about there being a lack of news. We've had 4 awesome trailers, not many games get that, and Zelda is one of those games that is best enjoyed without knowing too much about the adventure that lies ahead of you.
I agree it'd be nice for a price for Wii and date for both TP and Wii, but remember Nintendo said 'by September' so don't expect anything till at least late July.

the game is to come out this year are they going into a blackout till then? I want news... I don't care about what they say they may even say the polygon counts of the characters on screen as long as it is Zelda related...
Oh, and I'd love to see news pics, specially of the city, that one looked great on E3, shame there are no High Res pics.

Forest Temple in OOT.
Those, the Fire temple in WW, because you get to see the ocean from the outside and that made the game feel BIG and also because I saw the movies in the E3 and I was so happy to see it myself.
And Ganon's Castles in WW and OOT (I love the finales).

Is it normal for you guys in britain to get golden cartridges or the golden versions of Zelda?
I am from Portugal, like you Shino, and I have the golden cart of Zelda MM. My OoT is the regular grey cart though.
My favourite dungeon out of OoT is the Forest Temple, I can't explain why. I know Spirit Temple destroys it in artistic style and graphics, but I just prefer the Forest Temple.
In MM the best is of course Stone Tower. If you think it's eerie in the begining, wait until you get to "the second half". You're in for one of the most genius dungeons in gaming history. Once you see the complete picture and what they did, it cannot be denied.

It will be worthy, the game's so eerie, dark and moody, it's fantastic to me. Try to complete some or all the sidequests, they'r almost 50% of the game. Completing the Anju and Kafei one was so satisfatory, because i was trying to solve it from the beggining of the game to the end.
My favourite dungeon in oot is probably the shadow temple. mm, stone tower and ww probably tower of the gods

The Forest Temple in OoT had this amazing atmosphere, my favourite.
I also love MM's Stone Tower Temple, had some really fun puzzles and minibosses and boss. Though I thought it was a bit easy for a final dungeon.
Tower of the Gods in Wind Waker had an amazing boss.
Can't really pick a dungeon from ALttP, I always preferred the 3D Zeldas.

hard to say... forest temple had an amazing atmosphere and water and spirit temple rocked hard. Ikana Castle and Stone temple in MM ruled too.
My favourite dungeon in oot is probably the shadow temple.
It's my least favourite. Just because it feels like deja vu because it repeats the Well themes and music. Whenever I play OoT I always find it a chore to do both the Well and the Shadow Temple.

Ganondorf and Ganon in OoT are absolute classics. I find Dark Link very boring, you just hit him with the hammer over and over and he dies (he doesn't block or counter-attack the hammer).... not fun. But the environment is magical.
MM has probably the worst boss battles ever. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v69/steele/smileys/lol.gif However, the boss from the Snowpeak Temple has its fun factor, for some odd reason.
I haven't played the other Zeldas, only the N64 ones.

Dark Link in OOT because it was so hard (i didn't knew about the megaton trick)
Twinmold because it was freaking huge
That fake ganondorf on the forest temple in OOT
Twinrova in OOT
The one in the end of the fire dungeon in WW (can't recall the name) because i loved the gfx in that scene
AND... GANON in oot, that last fight had a great atmosfere.

I seriously recommend you use a guide to complete that dungeon. Not that it's hard, but it's possible that you won't be able to get all the small keys, if you get them in a certain order. If that happens, you won't be able to unlock a certain door (which you need to go through), and thereby you won't be able to complete the dungeon, meaning that if you saved it, you would have to start your entire game again. This happenned with me :(.

Umm.... you can go through the water temple in the wrong order (I have done it many times). That temple is just annoying because you get lost VERY easily and those keys are DAMN hard to find. I went through the water temple guidless since I got the nintendo offical one which read like a book... "Link grabs the key from this room and leaves it"..... where in the room? they never tell you -_-

I´d say the best dungeon is Dragon Roost Cavern, you get the feel that it is a place which belongs to the birdies but was just resently invaded by baddies.

I can't really remember the details, all I remember is that he kept swallowing Link and doing massive damage and I cursed a lot! My hatred also stems from my fear of water, which has always made me intensely dislike water related levels in games..

I don't know it like the back of my hand it's just pure logic. I've seen a friend go through it the first time recently and he did it without any kind of trouble. Just lower and rise the water when you need, not that big of a deal. In MQ it's a bit harder though.

One of my favourite temples is Dragon Roost Cavern in WW. As someone said earlier, it just had a fantastic feel to it, something that sticks in my memory really well! Of course I loved OoT's temple's too, they felt so epic, they had a real grand scale!

Dungeons in other games just seem in-comparable.
I'm looking for a serious answer here, how many other games have such enjoyable dungeons? i certainly cant think of any. You know the classic Boss's amazing puzzles, sense of achievement and atmosphere.
hmmm, Oblivion?... nope.... Final Fantasy?... certainly not.
I honestly dont think there is another series/games out there that is comparable.
I found the boss easy. Maybe i was just using some kind of trick, but i don't even remember how where we supposed to beat it.
The boss from the Water Temple in MM IS easy, the timing for what you have to do is what's tricky in that fight. But no big deal.
Ironically enough, I think the first boss is the hardest in MM. Even now, 6 years later, I find that fucking boss a chore.
I can't really remember the details, all I remember is that he kept swallowing Link and doing massive damage and I cursed a lot!
Haha, this made me laugh. Lucky for us it wasn't a giant crab. :hehe:
Also, I would like to advise people NOT to use guides for OoT, Water Temple or not. I played that game in a time when I didn't even know guides existed. True I got a bit stuck in the Water Temple at the time and it was exactly the same that kav82 said. But all you have to do is watch the water raising and dropping cut scenes carefully and you'll see it. Man, I remember even today the first time I spotted that cut scene! I felt so stupid for not having seen it before but at the same time so rewarding. The funniest part is that all my mates were stuck in the same part! I'd say it's the only tough part (or key) of that dungeon or at least the toughest.
The trick to complete the Water Temple is to do the maximum amount of stuff before changing the water level. The Temple's main room, before you venture beyond it, has four sides so explore each of those four sides at each of the three water levels. That's about all I can say without spoiling anything.
Raven

in its time, the water temple was hard. as with the one in MM, but now playing them again, they are easy as.
never had trouble on the MM-fish boss. the only thing that could be considered tricky is learning to 'fish leap' out of the water.
ie. where you are under water, aim yourself for the surface, and fly out of the water, landing on the platform.
most enjoyed zelda temple and boss for me would have to be the spirit temple.
