MGS4 Audio E3 special (http://www.blog.konami.jp/gs/img/hidechan/hidechanradio_57_e3special.mp3)
Translation:
Snake: "War has changed. Nations are no longer about ideals, the profits are no longer for the people, mercenaries for the highest bidder, construction of unmanned weapons, an endless cycle of proxy wars. The wars that claim lives have changed into a business with no rational for pain.
War has changed. ID registrated soldiers, possessing ID registrated arms, using ID registrated weapons. Nanomachines within their bodies manages ability growth, as well as promotions. Genome control, information control, emotional control, battlefield control. Everything is managed and regulated.
War has changed. The times have shifted from deterrence to control, and with that the catastrophe of Weapons of Mass Destruction have been evaded. With the control of the battlefield possible, so then is the control of history.
War has changed. With the controlled management of battlefields, war has become an omnipresent thing."
Colonel: "Spread the fires of war, and attain the utopia that Big Boss preached of."
Campbell: "This improves the military results even further. As a result the so called Big Boss's ideal land will be restored."
Liquid: "Free yourself from the bonds of fate. Brother! We are free!"
Snake: "Were the armament of the PMCs overlooked?"
Meryl: "A perfect control management system has been introduced into the PMCs and the military."
Naomi: "Soldiers with nanomachines in their bodies are not allowed to point their guns at their clients."

God, my penises came. All of them. See Sony, if you didn't suck so much and the PS3 wasn't so expensive I would buy one for this game, but now I won't tough luck. Minor gripe: continuing with this Liquid's arm bullshit. It's one of the most ridiculous things in videogame's history.

Seriously; this game is actually exciting me more than Zelda TP at the moment.
Kojima and Konami are the masters of videgame trailers in todays age imho. The way they schedule them and the whole make up of them just get your neck hairs tingling.
I'm going back to play 1 and 2 soon. Might even buy the new version of 3(the originals shite camera angle meant I never want to play that one).

What does the game actually look like? This is all trailer. Im believing more and more now that the PS3 graphics wont be much better than 360, on most games anyway.

It will be, the MGS games always use the game engine for cut scenes, but the actual gameplay despite using the same engine isn't half as impressive.

Yep, he's correct here. Cut-scenes always look amazing, but when the gameplay cameras resume it's not half as impressive.
I love Metal Gear, but I ain't being held to ransom for this.
The choice to be made this E3 was whether to buy a PS3 or 360, and 360 is definetly the better option from the looks of it. Pro Evo end of this year....wicked.

I remember people rumouring about 3 coming to Xbox, and it never did. It's usually the fanboys or just hopefuls that are crying because they won't have to buy a PS3 if it does.
Doesn't matter for me, I'm buying one. ^_^ Assassin's Creed! :>

I like the middle East setting and Snake's 'grey' look, very wise. I always thought Snake aged slower than normal? I wonder why he's decaying too.
Those robots with the legs, it seems like the legs are made from something organic? Crazy.
Snake shares the same genes as the genome soldiers right? So is the reason they suck because they lack battle experience?
Who can see Meryl being the new Metal Gear star in future? I can.

I just watched the 15 min trailer, and my initial reaction is "Why do the robots moo?" (Sorry for calling them robots, I never really played the previous games..)
Other than that it looks pretty cool.
No way I'm getting a PS3 though.
You know how Gamespot got the postcard about a Kojima game for the Wii?
Do you think it could be this game?
That would leave the PS3 without a leg to stand on, mind you...

Yeah what happened about that post card.. Surely it wasn't to do with Snake in Smash Bros?

Even though this game does look amazing (and I mean amazing) its still not enough reason to splash out £400 on a PS3.
I'm hoping that Konami wil release a MGS game for the Wii....but it'll look nowhere near as good as this.
I see a recurring theme here..I've already lost interest after MGS3.

The theory about the mooing Metal gears is to distract people, make em seem more alive or something, there was a more comprehensive explanation but too long to find.
Oh please I know that you're a MGS fan, but that's taking it to far. Cows? And what about Shagohod and the metal gears in mgs2 that also roared?

Is Big Boss actually in this game because i swear i have seen him in some artwork.
Another point, i'm not so sure i like the idea of Metal Gear Solid being set in the middle east because it will give it the feeling of a Ghost Recon title or Full Spectrum Warrior.
What i liked about the Metal Gear Solid levels in one and two was the feeling of claustrophobia (or whatever the correct spelling is) and now with desctructable environments and Snake's older form i'm just not sure if it is going to feel like the same game.

I personally love the MGS games and the reason for that is because of the cutscenes. I know alot of people who bash the game saying its too much watching and not enough playing but to me thats what makes it great because you are drawn into the storyline.
Anyone have the link where I can download the 15 min trailer as I have yet to sample the goodness.

Well after finally watching the 15 min trailer I can say I was pretty underwhelmed by it. Sure Raiden looked cool owning all those Metal Gears but what really disappointed me in the trailer was the lack of the MGS theme. I love that song and it has alywas been in the trailers in some shape or form...ah well.
Im also a big fan of the series but I agree the noises of the machines is getting beyond a joke. I not suprised it catches the enemy off guard they are probably asking themsleves " Why the hell is a machine mooing??!!!"
Babooo

I personally don't mind the mooing noises...something different you know???
Hero-of-Time
16-05-2006, 11:24 AM
The fact that someone was underwhelmed by the 15 minute trailer instantly removes their position as a "huge metal gear fan"
Thats a stupid statement. Its like watching your footy team play and said they played rubbish and then someone saying well you cant be a real supporter then.
To be fair I expected a response from Dabookerman so no big deal there. Fact is Im still a fan of the series but the trailer did nothing for me. Music can make all the difference case in point is the Halo3 trailer. Its only like 2 mins long but it gets the job done of getting me hyped for the game especially when the music kicks in.
Hero-of-Time
16-05-2006, 11:39 AM
Nope its nothing like it. The trailer shows a lot of things that will be talked about story wise, the fact liquid has full control over ocelot, meryls return, a suicidal snake, and many more issues, every metal gear fan ive spoken to is completely hyped for this game now.
Dont get me wrong Im still looking forward to the game and yeah there is much to discuss as I visit Gamefaqs boards often to read everyones theories Im just saying that the trailer, despite giving us the oppertunity to discuss how the story will go, was very lacking in giving me personally a spine tingling feeling.
I guess we have to agree to disagree here booker. No hard feelings.
Hero-of-Time
16-05-2006, 11:55 AM
Well lets look at the first mgs2 trailer, no one knew about raiden until the game was released.
the first mgs3 trailer had snake walking around in a jungle, running from dogs, and shooting in a jungle filled with fire. told nothing of the story.
but yeah if u wanna end this then be my guest
Yes but both had the epic music in it ( remembers MGS3 trailer when snake jumps off the waterfall ) which is what im saying music goes along way to help make a trailer, for me at least.
Hero-of-Time
16-05-2006, 12:10 PM
I do remember that none of the zelda twlight princess trailers not having the theme but still keeping people hyped. Its got new original music, as does the mgs4 trailer, u dont need a theme to be played all the time to keep someone hyped.
Yes but the first Zelda TP Trailer had the epic music from Conan I think it was and that fit well with it. Take Shigsy at E3, all he had to do was come out and wave a wand with Zelda music on and everyone loved it thats the power a tune can have.
I understand that a game needs to develop more but I have come to expect the same MGS music on the trailers which is probably why I was disappointed with the trailer.
A good example is at the movies when seeing a trailer. Alot of movies using the same epic music for the trailers because there is a sense of familiarity with it and it hypes you up for the movie in question. It has always been the case. Its probably why alot of bad movies seem to do so well.
Hero-of-Time
16-05-2006, 12:42 PM
Sorry for the late reply I just popped out to get a tan.
Quite rightly so you couldnt use the Theme which is whats so disappointing to me I see exactly what you are getting at as it wouldnt fit. What im saying though is that I expected to hear the music but I didnt get to therefore my expectations werent met hence making me feel underwhelmed.

I've never been a MGS fan so only after reading about the muuuing robot's I got curious and downloaded the trailer, the theme of the story seems really exciting and compelling, but like all other MGS, they screw it up (my opinion) with incoerent and irrealistc stuff like the muuing robot's that do karate kicks and high heeled ninjas. Still, I hope this game one day comes to xbox360 cause that's the only way i'll play it.

New info from PSM2
MGS4
‘The trailer’s key revelation is that Snake will be equipped with an active camouflage system called ‘Octo-cam’- a fusion of Octopus and Camouflage.
Kojima is keen to point out that an Octopus can change it’s colour, pattern and shape - mimicking bumps, holes and texture. Using this, Snake can ‘melt’ into the backgrounds, mirroring the dimensions of his environment – a graphical effect only possible on the PS3.’
‘Stealth is still a key priority. ‘‘You will not have it switched on all the time and your face won’t be invisible’’, reveals Kojima. ‘‘But if you stay still the suit will blend in automatically. It will return to normal if you move.’’
Scenarios will be dynamic, so if your covering wall explodes, you’ll have to quickly lay flat to merge with the floor.
‘‘You might want to avoid using the Octo-Cam all the time’’ advises Kojima. ‘‘Because if you rest by a toilet, you will absorb it’s pattern, and that will not be stylish’’.’
‘Sadly, the environments may not be as destructive as first thought. ''We want the entire scenery to be interactive, but even on the PS3 there are limits. In some buildings you can destroy everything, but in other rooms only certain scenery – it should be easy to tell them apart’’.
For example, in the trailer the Metal Gear destroys the stairs, but the main platforms remain intact.’
‘Snake will have a variety of new moves to explore with – including one inspired by Kojima’s military training, but this is secret.’
‘MGS4 will embrace the PS3’s 6D movement function, but how is still to be decided.
‘’Perhaps you could use it for the FP view, or to shake down guards for items (like in the past MGS games), but nothing is decided’’.’
‘MGS4 will also link with PSP’S MGS PO, but the format is still been discussed.
‘’It will be linked with the ongoing MG-Online project, which may be included with MGS4 or released separately’’. All 3 are linked.’
‘Our suggestion that Snake may have to complete his mission before his countdown (6 months) runs out was met with a curious response. ‘’We can’t comment. But a time limit makes a game more dramatic, so it will be included to some extent.’’.’
‘Kojima admits that Snake’s old age reflects his attitude to working on MGS4.
‘‘We wanted to show Snake’s human side, that he is hurt and aged but will still battle on. I’m over 40 years old and still designing MGS games, in many ways I’m also on a battlefield.’’.
So, is Snake’s fate a metaphor for Kojima’s involvement with MGS ? ‘‘Yes … my Metal Gear will end. The series belongs to Konami, and the fans, but I have the liberty to stop, and this will be my last MGS game.’’
They also asked if Snake will be able to shave in MGS4. He said no.

OH OH OH! OH OH OH!
Look how old 'Snake' and Liquid Ocelot are in the video clips. They're about the same age, no? So, this isn't Snake, as in, Solid Snake, it must be someone else. Big Boss? Notice the eye patch and the fact that he goes to visit the Boss's grave. Also, note the fact that Meryl, Otacon, Colnel Campbell, and Raiden haven't aged all that much in comparison to Snake...
Why does he have two eyes when he's at The Boss's grave? A glass eye perhaps? And with the mention of Outer Heaven...
I'm liking the possibilities behind this latest game already.
Now someone contradict me...
Jamba
21-06-2006, 09:40 PM
To be honest, Ocelot should probably be in a wheelchair by now. I would get all excited by this game but Kojima seems more intent on making an interactive movie rather than a game. MGS was great, haven't played MGS2 and I was falling asleep watching my friend play MGS3.
The game seems to be quite often just filling time between FMVs.

Well MGS3 lasted around 25 hours, thats if u include the 2-3 hours worth of cutscenes, understand, this is one of the most story driven based games out there, cinematics are crucial, after all Hide-chan wanted to be a director afterall
Oh yeah, totally. I just think that it would excecute better actually being a movie rather than a game. It's probably just niggling at my "games are more than interactive movies!" nerve. But hey as long as all games aren't like that then I don't mind.
It just wants to be a movie so much. Shenmue was very cinematic, but it could only have been a game. See what I mean?

I just wandered in here to see what the crack was and was shocked to see this statement. I know eveyone is entitled to their own opinion but what exactly was wrong with MGS3?
I loved the game to bits and the story was OUTSTANDING, so much so that I had to fight back the tears due to the whole end scene. I wish I hadnt got rid of my PS2 now, I would like to play through it again. Oh yeah, the scene where Snake got the living hell beat out of him was very powerful. Never has a game stirred up so much anger and a wanting for revenge than that 1 scene.
Oh christ another dissection of every scene in every trailer ever shown..
MGS3 was disappointing.
MGS3 was like the best one! MGS2, that was disappointing (especially when compared to how good mgs on playstation was).
So has anyone here played the original Metal Gear (or MG 2)? I think they were on the snes, and if so, I might be thinking of downloading them on virtual console.

IGN translates the Famitsu article.
Although Konami hasn't issued official word on the matter, one of gaming's finest traditions will indeed be continuing at the Tokyo Game Show. The latest issue of Famitsu reports that the Konami booth will, as just about everyone out there had been expecting, house a Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer.
Director Hideo Kojima revealed to the magazine that the trailer will clock in at about 6 minutes length. A bit short, but to make up for it, Konami will also be showing the E3 trailer.
While previous trailers were comprised of cut scenes, the new trailer will be made up of nothing but game play sequences. Konami has taken liberty with the camera in order to make the trailer easier for viewers to understand, but aside from the perspective changes, this will be our first look at MGS4 gameplay.
Famitsu seems to have gotten its hands on the trailer in advance and was able to deliver a few screenshots and details. The trailer shows a number of new gameplay elements. In one scene, Snake uses an oil drum to sneak around -- a replacement for the classic box, perhaps? In another scene, Snake is avoiding enemy patrols. We see Snake carefully making his way over an arched gateway, just above the viewpoint of his armed foes.
In addition to these traditional types of "sneaking," MGS4 introduces a new form, the Octocam. Short for octopus camouflage, this new gameplay system lets Snake change color in order to match his surroundings. The effect is heightened in dark areas like tunnels and caves.
This gameplay system is also highlighted in the trailer. In one scene, Snake is shown crawling on a battle field in the direction of enemies who are firing in his direction, but over his body. Snake has changed color to match the ground and is attempting to get close to the enemy in order to toss a grenade from close range.
In another sequence, we see a giant Metal Gear unit marching through a narrow street. Look closely, and you can see that Snake is camouflaged on the ground, and is aiming a gun directly at the mechanical beast.
Still another sequence shows the aftermath of Snake infiltrating a building through the window. A guard, having taken note of the noise, runs back to inspect the window. He doesn't seem to notice Snake who's adopted the properties of the tiled walls.
The trailer also shows a number of battle situations, in doors and out. And we're not talking just Snake with a gun here. It appears that the Metal Gear Mark II robot that's operated by Otacon will also be capable of attacking. One scene shows Mark II extending a wire out and shocking an enemy soldier.
In addition to killing off enemies in gun fights, Snake will also have an opportunity to negotiate with enemies. This was called the CQC system in Metal Gear Solid 3. The trailer shows Snake having pinned down and enemy, apparently questioning him for information. You'll be able to get information, items and weapons from enemies.
Speaking on MGS4 with Famitsu, Kojima made note of one of the big updates from previous titles. The game is no longer about "sneaking missions." You have a goal, and you're free to decide how to get there. You can use stealth to get to the goal with minimal resistance, or you can kill off all your enemies.
Kojima also had some saddening news to report to the magazine. Konami has previously promised a 2007 release for Metal Gear Solid 4. Apparently, the release will take place, at the earliest, late in the year, as the game still has over a year's development time.
Looks like we'll be getting a few more trailers before sinking our teeth into Kojima's last Metal Gear game.

Young Snake FTW!
This new trailer has set gamefaqs alight with possibilities of how there are 2 different aged Snakes kicking about. The best one I read is this:
For some reason I totally overlooked this like a dumbass, and I don't think anybody else seems to be mentioning it either. But, here's the thing. It could very well be that either Young or Old Snake are camo, Octocamo. See, the thing I overlooked is at the very beginning of the trailer. Snake is playing dead on the ground, stands up, and Octocamo's a huge scar/bloodstain on his face AWAY. The bloodstain was camouflage.
Now, this potentially turns a lot of things in the trailers upside down. For example, the face-darkening and injuries Snake seems to be sustaining when he has the gun in his mouth. They look very similar to the camo scarring. So, this has got me thinking. What if Snake was really Young Snake and Old Snake is a camouflage technique to throw the enemy off-guard in the spirit of psychological warfare? It fits perfectly into MGS4's themes. You approach your enemy with a different status relative to how you want to manipulate the enemies and the situation. Of course, he could really be Old Snake and switch between young and old similarly.
You'll notice, when he's still doing the statue pose, and the camera is first panning down, there's still white hair sticking out of the back of the mask. Then the camera pans back up and suddenly it's the black hair. It can't just be a matter of aging throughout the game, the transition happens RIGHT THERE before our eyes.

gamespot.com (http://uk.gamespot.com/news/6158568.html?sid=6158568&part=rss&tag=gs_news&subj=6158568)
TOKYO--2006 has been a big year for Konami director Hideo Kojima, who's celebrating his 20th year in the videogame industry and the 10th anniversary of his production team. But rather than to look back in the past, Kojima had a lot to say about the future of his Metal Gear Solid series, and he spoke almost nonstop about it for well over two hours at Konami's event stage.
"I've been making games for the past 20 years, but the first 10 years [up until Metal Gear Solid] were pretty dark. I wasn't thought of so highly in my company. It was the fans and their letters that kept me going," started off Kojima, who quickly went on to talk about the upcoming games from his production team.
Kojima began his presentation with a trailer of Metal Gear Solid BD for the PSP, a game based on Ashley Wood's comic book series by IDW Publishing. The end of the trailer showed a glimpse of Metal Gear Ray, and while it's already been reported in the latest issue of Famitsu, Kojima re-confirmed that a sequel based on Metal Gear Solid 2's storyline will be released in the future.
"The second series in the comic is currently at around volume 8, and it should run to about issue 12. We're planning to also make it into a Bande Dessinee . The original game [on the PS2] was all about Raiden, but the comic has a lot more Snake," Kojima said.
Kojima then went on to show a trailer of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, which showed various new characters as well as some intriguing illustrated scenes, with one scene showing Big Boss' first encounter with a young Roy Campbell, Solid Snake's commanding officer. While Snake has always worked solo in previous MGS installments, this time he's recruiting soldiers and making a team in Portable Ops. Kojima revealed that the soldiers can't be brought back to life if they're killed, so the game will feature a "White Flag" system to compensate for the severity of this:
"You can use your unimportant soldiers like a bunch of Pachinko balls [meaning they'll go off without much of a chance of coming back], but when it comes to your important characters, you don't want to get them killed," explained Kojima.
Portable Ops will be the first time that Kojima Productions is releasing a "real" Metal Gear Solid on the PSP that's not a card game, and they're doing so with a bang. Kojima unveiled that not just one, but two limited edition PSP packages will be released for Portable Ops. Both editions come with a premium PSP pouch, but the one that's more impressive will be released from Konami's Japanese online shopping site, and it will apparently be made of real python skin. We expect to hear a price on both editions soon, as Portable Ops is scheduled for a December release in Japan. Konami's online shop is also offering an official Portable Ops T-shirt for fans that want to get in the mood before the game comes out.
Before going on to talk about Metal Gear Solid 4, Kojima also took a short moment to announce that a budget-price reprint of Metal Gear Acid 2 will be released in Japan on November 16. The game will be offered at the new low price of 2,800 yen ($24), but it will still come with the constructible eyewear that allows for the game to be played in 3D.
Moving on, Kojima took the second half of his presentation to talk about Metal Gear Solid 4. By this time, Konami's booth was as crowded by fans like "penguins during spawning period", as Kojima put it. Showing off the new TGS 2006 trailer, Kojima confirmed that all the scenes were created with real-time rendering, similarly to the trailer from last year's TGS. He also mentioned that the E3 trailer from May (also done in real-time) will be used as a part of the game's opening sequence when the game is completed.
"We've finally started to figure out the PS3, and we've decided on [MGS4's] game systems," said Kojima. "Back with last year's TGS trailer, we were still trying to learn the PS3's potentials. Now that we've figured out what we want to do, all we have to do now is to create it."
Pointing to the trailer, Kojima talked about the new high-tech camouflage suit that Snake is now wearing, which changes its colors in real-time and blends Snake around his environment. The suit is called an "octo-cam", which derives from the words "octopus" and "camouflage". Kojima explained that, while it's very little known, the octopus is one of the sneakiest creatures in nature and it even beats chameleons when it comes to disguise. While a chameleon can only change its color to match its environment, an Octopus not only mimics its environment color, but it can also accordingly change its shape.
"The real skill in hiding is to avoid the most obvious places like lockers or underneath tables, because that's the kind of place that people would search first. It's best to hide in places that are already visible, because nobody would care to notice it. For example, people would search a locker that's closed, but they wouldn't check a locker that's already halfway opened. You can just hide in a dead angle of it," said Kojima.
[B]"Up until now in the MGS series, your body was completely hidden [in places like lockers and desks]. But in MGS4, you'll be hiding in a new way. In previous MGS games, you would've hid behind pillars so that enemies couldn't see you. But in MGS4, you'd be standing in front of the pillars and using the octo-cam to blend into it."
Kojima then presented a number of slides and showed how the developers have been traveling all over the world to gather research material for MGS4, including the Middle East, South America, and Eastern Europe. "Snake is going to be going all around the world like Hitchcock or 007 [James Bond]...we've visited normal homes [in villages] as well as various locations like an iron foundry, underground passageways, warships, and military facilities."
The developers are also making sure that the battle tactics in MGS4 are as good as and even better than previous installments. Once again, the developers went under a training course with former SWAT instructor Motosada Mouri, who's been the military adviser for the MGS series and helped out in creating the Close Quarter Combat system (CQC) in MGS3. Visitors to the Konami booth got to see some video of Kojima and other staffs infiltrating a house, and putting on camouflage makeup to challenge Mouri on a survival mission.
"I've kept shooting at him, but it was like he's invincible. He caught us all. I think he wears an infinite bandana," Kojima joked to his fans.
There's no question that MGS4 has more detailed graphics than its predecessors, especially due to its shift to high definition on the PS3. But Kojima is adding detail to Snake's movement as much as he is to the game's overall graphics. For example, if a bullet comes flying at Snake's face, he'll automatically sway his head and dodge it. Kojima assured the crowd that it won't be anything that would affect the game's difficulty level.
In terms of realism, Kojima is also taking on a new challenge in MGS4. Up until now, characters in the MGS series were all fictional, and while Snake might've been inspired by John Carpenter's Escape from New York, his look was still original. That's about to take a shift in MGS4. For the first time in the series, the game will feature a group of characters that are all based on real-life people. Kojima avoided giving too much information since the reason behind it is going to be a huge surprise, but he showed off a model sample of actress Yumi Kikuchi, who will be in the game as the "Japanese representative." Kikuchi was hosting Kojima's stage presentation at the TGS, and she also plays Kojima's partner role in his Internet radio drama series, "Idea Spy: Operation 2.5."
In terms of music, Kojima confirmed that MGS4's scores will once again be created by Harry Gregson-Williams, who provided the excellent soundtracks for the previous two MGS titles. The TGS 2006 trailer music (titled "Old Snake") was one of his works.
"Gregory-san had a lot of movie projects like The Chronicles of Narnia, so we thought it wouldn't be possible for him [to take on MGS4]. But he's watched the E3 trailer like 50 times, and he was he said he wanted to do it," said Kojima.
The stage event also gave Kojima the opportunity to show off Metal Gear Solid 4's official logo, which was created by Logan, a production studio famous for its works on TV spots including iPod, Volkswagen, and Xbox.
Logan's Alex Tylevich appeared on stage and commented that Kojima wanted a classic taste to MGS4's logo, but with a touch of modernism. Kojima added that he wanted a new look to the logo since he considered this to be the new beginning of the MGS series, as the previous stories have already concluded as a trilogy.
Kojima also revealed that the intro sequence for MGS4 will be done by Logan, replacing Kyle Cooper who worked on the previous two installments. The intro sequence of MGS3 allowed users to control the screen, but according to Kojima, MGS4 is going to be even better and startling. "The customer service phone line is going to be flooded with calls, and I'm going to get fired," joked Kojima.
Whatever the intro will be like, Kojima's idea behind it was big enough to even get developers jumping out of their seats. According to MGS4 co-director Shuyou Murata, "I totally flipped out when I heard about it. It's going to be like a promotional video, but there's going to be more to it."
Logan's Alex Tylevich was tight about releasing any details, but he gave some first hints, commenting, "It's going to be highly unusual for a videogame opening. It's going to be very futuristic."
Metal Gear Solid 4 is slated for a 2007 release, so there's still plenty of time before gamers will get their hands on it. Meanwhile, fans can start pre-registering to Konami's new Metal Gear community site that's tentatively named "Metal Gear My Page", scheduled to launch in December. Fans can create their own blogs, communicate with each other, upload contributions, and also collect "Kojima Fan Points" to expand the services they can use.
Kojima also mentioned that MGS4 merchandise is already underway. As one of the products, he introduced an "Old Snake" action figure with moveable parts, which will be released by Medicom Toy. The figure is created under direct supervision of MGS series graphic designer Yoji Shinkawa.
