Kameo is by no means a classic but I certainly had fun playing it. What exactly do you dislike about it?

I do agree with the length however, it took me 12 hours to beat it with all fruits/elixers. That is without playing co-op or replaying levels to get an A rank.

Yey, good news guys! Me gets a 360 Premium from Argos this Friday!
Anyway, i was wondering what are the best games. I was thinking of getting PDZ and Kameo.

I'd get Condemed but i'm a wuss, even FEAR scared me.
Don't want CoD2/Quake 4 as i have them on PC.
Don't want PGR3, as cool as it looks i've never been able to get into the game at all.

Any other suggestions?

While the dungeons are ok they are to small and not that interesting. And after each small dungeon you have to do a boring mission in badlands (which is nearly identical to all the missions in badlands). And when you finnish those missons they play the same animation of the backup that arives. And when getting new Animals/skills you acend down the well a "movie" starts playing... Wich you se every time you go down a well. It all seams so rushed. Not at all epic. Probably just my hopes that was to high. I give Kameo 6/10

It's in www.videogamesplus.ca region-free section, i have emailed them to 100% confirm, also Uk people over on www.gamefaqs.com boards have started buying it because they have stated it's been confirmed as region-free!

Well I finally got live setup today :grin:
I'm loving it so far, and quite amazed how smooth it is despite being so far from my router. Good ol wireless.

I've had a couple of games on PDZ live, and I'm going to download the demo of Condemned tonight. I love the marketplace, its fantastic.

Oh and Jordan, good to hear you're getting one soon :smile: I got PDZ and Kameo for my launch games and am really enjoying them both.

I've nearly finished Kameo, and its one of the most enjoyable adventures I've played in a long time. The boss fights have to be my highlights. Very classy. I hope there's a Kameo sequel, as Elements of Power is a bit on the short side.

I just emailed VGP about DOA4 being region-free but theres a HUGE headline and article about it in there new, news blog, which is very helpful! They state a customer from Germany ordered it of them and it works!

Probably look a bit stupid now! but nevermind, i took the chance and ordered it, before they even replied back stating it is 100% region-free themselves....

OXM issue 4 has been delayed to early next week, this is due to a problem with the actual beta. I was looking forward to reading the mag tomorrow as well! It's not a major problem though.

I have ordered twice of them (one games was virtua tennis GBA, the other i can't remember, it was that long ago) and both times the order never processed or dispatched, i'm pretty sure the game was in stock.

I waited nearly a week once for it to process, perhaps i didn't wait long enough? but i'm impatient! lol

I'm hoping VGP haven't sold-out of DOA4 my order hasn't shipped yet, and they are normally very quick with in stock items, however they probably have a huge back-log of orders over the time they were on holiday (they resumed shipping normally on the 3.01.06)

All you have to do is play it once through to gain the full 1000. I'm a bit surprised they didn't reserve some for, say, unlocking all the extra content, or playing through the game in mirror mode/with the special filter on.

I managed to get a copy from Play for £30, and for that price it was definately worth it. I might do a write up on it as I haven't really seen much being said about it 'round these parts.

Why buy? rent games for points, my friend, has over 6000 gamer points, and hes only bought like 5 games and rented 3.
he didn't complete the rented ones fully, but he got most points, and he rented the ones with easy points, like madden and nba. You get like 100 points for just creating ur own character!
P.S, he still hasn't finished the games he bought 100%, well not all.

King Kong is actually a good game as it happens! So in my opinion it's worth buying!

My advice though? Take your time with it...everyones going on about how short it is but if you don't play it daily for hours on end, you could have it for a while! I still haven't completed it and i'm still in the jungle, although i'm pretty sure i'm near the end now!

Yeah, it could be just me though. Everyone else who has used them have said they have been fantastic!

I wish VGP dispatched my DOA4 last night! :weep: The UK release is supposadely Jan 20th 2005 now, i should get it before then and of course a tad cheaper (£1, lol).

I've never got into any-other DOA before, however something has happened to me recently. I disliked PGR but now like that, i hated Amped but like Amped 3, and i'm not to keen on war-games but like Call Of Duty 2. It seems that i take more interest in different games when i get a new console or it's because i'm nearly 19 and i'm changing!

What time is it in Canada? It seems if you order it off ebay (fiocco is VGP or something like that) they seem to ship them quicker! My only worry is, that stock of DOA4 is being sold on ebay and VGP! Please don't be sold-out!

Okay, I've been chasing this problem up and a lot of sources are complaining about the same issue. So methinks that it's the actual game itself and not my 360. Maybe Rare will fix this in a patch? Who knows...

For now I'll just take my chances and not do anythnig about it. However, if my next 360 game has the same issues I'm straight on the phone to Microsoft!

just downloaded that boxing game, bit boring to play, and i dont see that much graphically impressing that i havent seen on 360 games out so far.

What is cool on it tho is the knockout replays, coz u see the skin on their face move to react with the punch, and blood fly out their mouths

Indeed, I remember reading about Unreal Championship being patched on the original XBox... O_o

I've also heard that there is gonna be an update released in the future for PD Zero and Rare said that they might include counter-ops as a new game mode. :grin: I can't remember the source though... :/

Of course games are checked for bugs, its what is knows as testing. The fact of the matter is that no matter how much you test, something is gonna be missed.

Just played PGR3 and for some reason, it totally blew me away again, just like the first time i played it! I was listening to Def Leppards 'photograph' while zooming through Tokyo, i drove 10x better then i normally do as well! :grin:

Well I played the Fight Night Demo and wasn't very impressed. It controls sluggishly and awkward in my opinion, and I just couldn't see it getting much better. Its not like I'm someone moaning about it because I hate boxing because I don't, I love it, I'm an amateur boxer.
If graphics are trying to be its main selling point than oh dear I mean are you suppose to go ':shock:WOW!' when it does the replay with the blood spilling out their mouth? I mean come on if they wanted to they could of done that in replays on the Xbox version. Lighting isn't bad but the whole slow motion crap is just generally poor and the graphics are well overrated.

I personally think Fight Night looks damn right awesome and certainly could never be done on Xbox. The character models are so full of tiny little details, some of the best models to be produced yet, I guess how it plays is down to opinion but once you learn't all the moves and so on it plays really easily and not sluggish.

Router conflict, unfortunately there's bugger all you can do about it short of either one or the other (or both) of you getting a new router. This is usually caused by BT Voyager modems in my experience.

Then i played some Kameo whilst i talked to him when he played on Ridge Racer... that also rocked. I'm currently downloading the Fight Night Round 3 demo, hope it's as cool as everyone says.

Keep a eye out on www.xbox.com forums for posts stating 'Argos have Cores/Premiums in stock-order now'

Seriously, it seems Argos are getting stock quite regulary, so keep checking, the minute they are put up on the website they seem to sell-out though!

Kameo is pure orgasmic. The under water controls bothered me for a couple of mins, but i'm now pretty much into it :) Against the second major boss in the water temple. Loving it, simple as.

PDZ is great fun on deathmatch, me and Dom were playing last night and kicking some ass. I've got quite alot points considering i've only had the console 2 days. Once i've finished Kameo i'll be moving onto PDZ then probably buying nothing till Ridge Racer 6 comes out here later this month! :)

Kameo is pure orgasmic. The under water controls bothered me for a couple of mins, but i'm now pretty much into it :) Against the second major boss in the water temple. Loving it, simple as.

PDZ is great fun on deathmatch, me and Dom were playing last night and kicking some ass. I've got quite alot points considering i've only had the console 2 days. Once i've finished Kameo i'll be moving onto PDZ then probably buying nothing till Ridge Racer 6 comes out here later this month! :)

Hey guys, I've noticed that the fight night 3 demo moves slower than the vidz they have of it at ign for example. Could it be because we're playing an ntsc demo on pal 360's and tv's? I'm playing it on a 100hz tv so it should play 60hz. Or do I need an RGB cable or such to speed it up? I'm puzzled by it.

The Samsung also has a VGA input, so you can buy a VGA cable which arguably gives a slightly better picture as the 360 itself scales the 1280x720 signal up to the TV's 1360x768 resolution when using it. Component does not do that, the TV does the upscaling for it.

I own both cables and a Samsung 26", I find that the VGA does give a slightly sharper picture but slightly washed out colours for some reason. I'd use the VGA but I use my TV as my PC monitor so that isn't feasible for me.

I thought that, but it is HD Ready for gaming. It's just not HD Ready for a TV Signal, so i've read.

Could be wrong, all of the sites i've gone on have stated it's HD Ready though, the cheapest i've found is £467.99, and if i can, i reckon i'll get that, i don't know if it's only for businesses though....

It doesnt really matter if you use VGA or the ones that come with the 360, both are analogue connections and are pretty similar. The response time is also ok, not the best but you shouldnt get any ghosting.

I've heard issues of ghosting with the Joytech cables. I have a Joytech component lead, and on the 7thingy setting there is a slight ghostly hue to the image that annoys me. On 1080i there's no problem though, so I use that.

I think ghosting occurs due to the cable, as a third party one will never be quite as good as the official. I was lucky to find a third party one, so I'm happy.


Owen, on a Samsung note - all the sets are brilliant from what I've seen. The image on games is stunning, especially the Xbox 360, and you're not going to be unhappy with what you get here. Only issue with mine is RGB 60hz on GameCube, which looks a bit cack (possibly due to my broken cable?). I have the 32 inch Samsung with freeview and I'm just so damned pleased with it.

As far as i'm aware the 23/26/32 TVs are all the same apart from the size. I've had mine for a month now and I honestly couldn't be more pleased with it, the picture is amazing. You'll be fine using the component cable that comes with the premium pack. Response time is fine, there is no ghosting.

I give it 2 thumbs up, though if you're willing to spend £500 on the 23" i'd suggest you get the 26", you can find it for 570-600 online.

You're best using the component (? or composite - I can't remember) cable that came with the 360. The 360 VGA cable supposedly makes all the colours look washed out. It's pretty much not recommended.

I really love Dead Or Alive 4, but i'm rubbish at it!

Sometimes you can't get a look in, as the computer doesn't stop kicking,punching, jumping etc..

Anyone know some quick tips? I know countering seems important (thats blocking your opponents move and then letting your character use it as a advantage).

Dead or Alive 4 is gonna look absolutely fantastic on a HD LCD, it already looks stunning on my 32'' old phillips tv! I love the dinosaur and safari levels!

My fav character is the wrestling woman at the mo with a mask on, but she seems to be losing her touch to later tougher characters!

Oh and is it worth getting RR6 then? I have PGR3 and love it, but i don't really want my dad to waste £50 (it's gonna be a birthday game) on it, if it's worst then that!

Ridge Racer 6 is a really fun racer and plays nothing like PGR3 at all. It's a very very arcade racing experience and that's what makes the game so damn fun. If you have ever played Ridge Racer Type 4 or Rider Racers on the psp then you know what you can expect from 6. If there is a minor problem with Ridge Racer 6, it's that the first cars you get feel quite slow but as soon as you get further and pick up the faster cars the game speeds up.

Just a random note of experience here. I was playing RR6 one day and decided to put in PGR3, WOW was i shocked to find out that PGR3 didn't seem as smooth as it used to, it feel jaggery and frame skipping. I guess that what happens when you play a game at 60FPS and then move to one that is running at 30FPS.

I just played the PGR3 demo and allthough I really don't get along well with car racers I thought it was great. I wouldn't buy it but the controls are great and graphics are pretty good.

I'm on the last boss of Kameo(Thorn)and I think its pretty hard, I attacked him tell the bar was about 1/3 down and then I couldn't damage him anymore when he started jumping around.

I don't know, sorry, but i couldn't stop laughing at one of the videos. The girl (who's name i should really know) was cooking a meal really fast and she was like chopping up a salad,peppers etc..(she actually through it all up in the air and chopped everything airbourne and it landed on a plate etc..)she does it all perfectly and her front door rings and then she falls over! LOL :D

a few hours? thats nothing, to install all SEVEN or so disks on my pc took an hour or so. Then it had to update which took six and a half hours!

its a very very good game though. it starts off shit and overwhelming, and you dont have a clue whats going on. the higher up in the game you go, and the more you know the more you will enjoy it. Give it a chance.

I cant find the oxm issue ANYWHERE and its really bugging me. Still, it will be alot easier to play on my pc till i find a cheap usb keyboard for my xbox 360

aye m8 has happened to me sometimes aswell make sure u check the status of ppl when you go into a room. if they have got yellow bars get out of the room its laggy as hell but if all are green you hardly have any lag just a lil bit now and then

I do know this, im at least getting the beta (which i JUST found yaaay) because im a huge Final Fantasy fan. And playing on my TV would be alot more cushty than sitting by my PC.

The mouse really isnt needed at all on the PC one, i dont mind paying for a game and a keyboard to play in style (e.g. in my bed lol)

Great game, yet looking back I always thought it was building up to a huge epic adventure(e.g. the start) yet it felt like I had only just begun. Hopefully Rare will give us a sequel :awesome:

I'm getting my 26'' Samsung HDTV tomorrow! (hopefully, if argos don't let me down...which they might)

However i'm still a little concerned. How in gods name can Dead Or Alive 4 get any better in appearence then what it already is on my 32'' Philips Standard tv? My picture quality is actually really fantastic on that, extremely sharp and colourful, i'm wondering if i'll notice any difference at all when i switch the switch to HD and turn on my new LCD.

PLEASE let me notice differences! Espicially in PDZ!

No, the game interacts with PS2 and PC players, they have no voice chat so I doubt square would bother doing it here. I think there is private chat though.

It's hard. I think i know what you mean.

If your talking about blocking then you press X. Countering though is pressing the A button at the right time, it really is difficult and luck, i've played the game for roughly 3 hours so far and have done it twice. It's when there just about to hit you, you press A and then it gives you the advantage and you make it into your move, is that correct?

If you've played DoA2/3/U you should know that countering is pretty difficult, and guess what in 4 it's even harder and it does less damage but it can still quite easily turn the tides of a fight.

I used to be pretty good at countering on DoAU, so we'll see when 4 comes out in Europe.

DOA4 is HARD. I'e only played the second one (i think, may have been third) for roughly a couple of months, then i got rid of it (wasn't to in to fighting games then).

Anyway, DOA4 is set at either HARD or VERY HARD difficulty during the whole game! The computer doesn't let you get a move in sometimes and you literally can't even get of the floor without being kicked to death!

Still it's really cool though!

A question from myself, I got a kameo and NFS demo from the truly abysmal offical xbox magazine. I noted that the kameo cutscene was jerky in 50hz mode but ok in 6ohz mode. And then found out that Futrerama was jerky in 6ohz mode but not in 50hz. To add to this madness I found NFS to just be plain nasty in both modes. But I was playing late at night so who knows. Anyway any suggestions?

Thats pretty bull, I know people who own the game and it runs fine on 60hz and you don't need a HDTV. The game is totally region free, in terms of language and TV standards so they could ship to all 3 regions super fast.

I aint sure if it is free of tv standards, as of course the US version will have no 50 HZ support but the European one may have. Anyway as jordan said you dont need an HDTV to have to get 60 hz, most tv's nowadays can display it.

If I remember correctly Metroid prime 2 was one of the first games in Europe to feature no 50 hz support. I believe this is a trend we will see more of as developers will care about bigger things than whether your 6 year old portable can play it, as basically evey tv nowadays is manufactured to support 60. Its something which is really made very clear liek alot of things regarding tv's, such as ntsc compatibility - but that is for another day.

Didn't get my TV from Argos again, i HATE them now. Had to re-order and won't get it till tuesday, which i doubt. Will NEVER use them again, they actually lied to my mother in the morning stating it was actually on the delivery van! It's in Hartfordshire now.... :nono:

Anyone know anyother good HDTV's other then the Samsungs around the £700-£750 price mark? The Samsungs are stupidly hard to get hold off and i don't think i'm going to have any luck with Argos. I want the TV to have HDMI and it must be a HD LCD.
