People that say what we have now is not a huge leap forwards are idiots. We're at the point now where they've got humans looking pretty lifelike in games well we were there last gen but now the only thing left to do is the fine details like hair and things like that. I think people were expecting to turn on the 360 and the graphics look like they're looking out of their bedroom window at the real world or something.

I went to get FEAR for the P.C today and they ddint have it in :(, then i turned around and what was on the 360 self? but Ridge Racer 6 (NTSC) but works fine on PAL console with Live Etc.

Its VERY similair to the PSP version. Which is good.

I just wanna talk about perfect dark for a few seconds. i cannot play it

....

without stopping and looking around! its the most stunning game i have ever played. I was just on level 9, behind a guy on the lift. I aimed in 4x with my awesome gun and i could see all these individual hair strands. all these little details i know before long i know i will take for granted, im blown away. people comlain, saying the hardware isnt a big leap upwards, thats its not next gen. it may not be a leap upwards, it still is 3D animation, but its a huge leap to the side. all the detail. all the room. all the extras, im so so SO glad i preordered my 360. wow.

(bet ya'll thought i was having a whinge from the first sentence right? :p)

I agree! Theres a obvious improvement between the Xbox360 and say a Xbox for example. Perfect Dark really looks stunning in some places! The brilliant thing is, the graphics are going to get even better from now on as developers have a little more time to polish them up, look at Gears Of War for example! I cannot wait for future releases!

What do you think of the Xbox360's Fifa? Some are saying it's absolutely terrible, but my dad knows two people who absolutely love it, quite a few do on the www.xbox.com forums as well!

On Xbox.com forums, there has been alot of threads on the CoD2 Multiplayer Patch, and people have been ringing microsoft and they are saying that a patch is in the works. It could well be one of the best online games on the 360 is the patch is made.

Its needs no lag, better server finding and once the game finished, you don't get autimatically booted and have to find another game and come on, boost it up to 16 players, 8 isnt even next gen, halo 2 had 16.

I wouldn't pay £50 for it, the graphics are pretty good but the gameplay is cack. There is two modes, create a tournament and road to the world cup, i think the demo is available on marketplace.

A lot of games have probelms with giving you points and achievments if your not online as you complete them. The best way to make sure you always get them is to connect to live before you start playing games.

Activision released a cheat to unlock all levels, as there is a bug which deletes all save game info, the cheat is to save people having to do it all again.

On another note i'm trying to decide what annoys me more the people that spin people out or the people that whine about it.
Just last night i was playing with the biggest whiner ever all he did all race was moan about people spinning people out and then on one corner i went to take him and he turned into my path and i accidently span him out. Before i got the chance to apologise the guys throwing all sorts of language at me so i thought sod that. After the race he's still whineing so i tell the guy to turn collisions off to which he replys i i turn them off i can't block people trying to overtake me. What a tit maybe thats why he gets spun out

It doesnt happen all the time, it seems to be when you complete a specific level, if your not signed into live before you do it.

I only got call of duty yesturday and so far touch wood i've ran into no lag which is good. As many of you have said this game needs an improved multiplayer so you can view a list of games and what level etc hopefully they will do it

I finally recieved my hot-rod faceplate today from a Ebay person! and even though i had to pay £23 for it, which is stupidly expensive, i'm actually really really pleased i bought it, it doesn't look cheap at all and the blue is really cool!

My dad also purchased me a bubble one from Japan for Xmas, but it hasn't come.

Thats it with the faceplates for now though, i'll only buy another one if it was truly out of this world....but i have to disagree with the people who say 'that all' faceplates look crap, because they don't!

I wouldn't of paid £15+ for a plain one i must admit, the Sun one (the orange swirls one) looks cool, and must be good as that was sold out everywhere with the hot-rod one in my area.

At the moment I got a 360 Core system, gonna get a Hard Drive + a game next Tuesday and I'm getting 1 or 2 games in the first week of the new year. :)

I'll buy Perfect Dark Zero if I can find the Tin Box Edition somewhere, otherwise I'm going for Project Gotham 3 and buy PDZ when it's cheaper. I'll also get Fable: The Lost Chapters this holiday and Jade Empire sometimes next year.

Some other older games you'd recommend?

The place to be on Xbox Live was, is and always will be Halo 2. I've had my Xbox 360 a few weeks now, and I've still played Halo 2 more than anything else, except Guess Who.

Guess Who is clearly the best game ever made, they need to make it a marketplace download.

Well I got my premium pack today for christmas, and I'm loving it. I bought Kameo and PD0 myself. Haven't played much of either of them but they're both really enjoyable so far.

The controller is PERFECT. Looks like sex and feels like heaven in your hands. Got a limited edition remote with my premium too! Its so cute!

Dashboard is brilliant too, so simple yet so complex :heh:

Only problem is I want LIVE, yet my TV is AGES away from up here. So I have to get a wireless adaptor (£60:() but I dunno if it will reach or not. Anyone know how far they go?

You need to push and hold the Xbox guide button on the controller. (The big X in the middle). It will then search for the nearest console and assign itself the necessary player position.

This also turns on the console itself for the more lazy amongst us.

Just buy a long crossover cable, costing you about £7.

PC cables dont normally stock that long a cables, you can get upto 100 metres of cabling before the quality starts detiorating.

aye but u have to take your xbox apart to get it to work and i read that all the first games that were released had no code on them so it was easy to rip. the next batch of games will have codes on them am sure

The wood one looks stupid, the sun faceplate is probably the best as it matches the colour of the 360, with swirls on it.

Yep, he's right. You can download an iso of the kiosk demo disk and run it from a DVD-R. It's got no protection on it.

Actually, no he's wrong. Sorry! Although you CAN run the kiosk demo disk from a DVD-R, as I said - you cannot run full game rips. Some people had the theory that you could replace the demo disk files with the full games and they might work, but they don't :(

Okay so I have the wireless adaptor, I've connected it to the back of 360 properly and everything, and my router is upstairs. When I go onto the 'Xbox Live' part of the dashboard and try to connect it can't connect, it can't locate the router. I've tried doing the IP and DNS stuff manually too but it still wouldn't work. I'm thinking either its too far from the router or the router is just shite. Anyone who can help or at least try to it would be really appreciated. I'm so close yet so far :mad:

Yeah so I've been playing 360 for long periods of time since christmas and I decided that I was going to check my discs yesterday... And suddenly I realised that not only were there scratches on the discs, but, what looks like a permenant smudge.. Or heat warping. o.O I mean the games still run and everything and I've had no problems other then the strange lagging there seems to be when I scroll through options on perfect dark (>.>) and once the 360 died when I checked someones gamercard on PGR3, but, I'm not sure how long they will last with this happening...

Anyone else had this problem? Oh and has anyone found a possible cause/fix for it? ^^; I really don't want any of my games to die. lol

No it doesnt, the 360 is designed to stand up, i have it like that and have no scratches on any of my disks, the problem is down to the disc drive.

The supply issue is nothing do with retail, so sending back a faulty console will get ypu a new one quickly, since MS allocate enough consoles for faulty ones.

That diagra is from some modding site where they are showing you how to add little rubber pads to your 360's DVD drive to avoid scratching disks.

Of course, an easier way to do this is NOT TO MOVE IT WHILE IT'S ON.

I finally splurged on a HDTV, and I have to say the quality is astounding compared to my older set when using the Xbox 360. I was also quite fortunate to happen across a hard drive/composite cable in Comet on the same day which only further sweetened the deal.

The ruber Pad is't there in the retail version. This diagram was made so people can "mod" their 360 so that it don't hurt the discs. I was just using the Diagram as an explanation of why the 360s scratched the Discs.

You don't, it's not worth playing... :indeed: Seriously though, when are there going to be more games with decent online modes? so far PDZ is decent (online) for what it is, PGR3 is too irratating to be any real fun, and Kameo apperently will have it but it needs to be patched first? ah well if it does get added it'll probably be fun for a while.

Personally I hope that more games are released featuring more imaginative online modes, at least ones not limited soley to the FPS/stealth and racing genres, not that theyre not fun to play to an extent, but they do tend to lose their appeal quite quickly.

Looks like Gears of War could be out earlier than I thought after all, if it DOES get released in March in US. I think that means Europe will get it April/May! That could be my next game I buy.
Also looks like they are re-releasing Far Cry Instincts for 360. i'm looknig forward to seeing how Prey turns out and Lost Odysee in October in US? Looks like there's a good chance we'll get in time for christmas. Suprised Alan Wake isn't mentioned.

Anyway, When i was at the beginning of the game, i thought exactly the same thing, nothing was wrong with it, however the more you get into the game the more the bad framerate becomes apparent, which is ashame!

Still, i think it's a great game, so i agree! I haven't come across a glitch yet!

cod2 is a port aint it? and thats f'in amazin. Well, the online needs a touch up, but for those 4 man sniper matches on Live its a beast, but anymore than4 players and the games gunna lag to fook.

Yey, good news guys! Me gets a 360 Premium from Argos this Friday!
Anyway, i was wondering what are the best games. I was thinking of getting PDZ and Kameo.

I'd get Condemed but i'm a wuss, even FEAR scared me.
Don't want CoD2/Quake 4 as i have them on PC.
Don't want PGR3, as cool as it looks i've never been able to get into the game at all.

Any other suggestions?

PDZ and Kameo should set you up VERY nicely.

Maybe look into Kong if you liked the movie, its a good game, i never expected it to be.

In that case, Kameo and PDZ are your best bet. I personally think Condemned is the best launch title. It's truely AWESOME. But PDZ is brilliant too, especially for on-line stuff. Kameo is a joy to play.

Playing Kameo and PDZ makes you feel like you're playing an N64 again.

Am i the only one that think Kameo is realy bad? Been playing to get the easy peasy points.. I'm so glad i didn't buy it. And It's also realy short... Thats my opinion. feel free to criticize it :P
