Just had a proper sit down and play of Kameo (been on COD2/PDZ only up till now), and wow, this game is a beast. Riding your horse thru about 300 troll orc things was pretty fun. The gameplay is ok, pretty simple , although shamefully i got stuck on first boss, just cudnt get those damn shells in his face.

If youv got a 360 and not kameo, id recommend it like, its pretty gud.

Do you have to have the maps set to large, as I've never seen any, but I've only played with maps set to small so far.

Yep, do the desert level, with Base 1+2 Open and their, there.

The level is ABSLOUTELY HUGE, with little tunnels going through the tall rocky mountains etc..with torches in them..

Then you can hover all the way over the towers etc..in that small town.

It's superb on Team Deathmatch as well. As all your AI pals go running to get one and your all hovering about etc...

Great! The graphics look amazing, i haven't played the other levels yet except that snowy 'tower' one, which is also fantastic.

Well seeing from ASDAs stocklist, theyre getting the same amount in each week before xmas, about 600 a week, to split between 60 stores nationwide.

So this is probably the same situation for all shops, getting the same amount of 360's in.

Its funny you should say that, I was trying to work out last night how many xbox's would be in the country by christmas, and I'm sure it is totally wrong but this is my thought process:

Say there are 1000 shops that get 360's each week. Each store gets roughly 10 machines and there are 4 weeks before Christmas (considering that this doesn't include the initial pre-order allocation) that means:

10,000 x 10 = 100,000
100,000 x 4 = 400,000

Surely 400,000 xbox's would be enough to meet demand for Christmas?

Just finished PDZ,Kameo,PGR3.

If this is anythign to go by the 360 is gonna be in for some heka hot games!

Kameo EASLY has the best ending ive ever seen in a video game...I advise all people to finish it ASAP.

Heres what makes it so good. (SPOILER!)

You find your sister, you make up she takes her life to kill thorn. but the best thing is theres no vocals and the music works all the emotions and drama. It's amaizng...

Go into game (or get someone to go for you if you cant) every friday at about 10am. By then they have had their delivery notes for the day and will be able to tell you if they are getting any in. Deliveries are paid to be in store each day before 12 (maybe 1 - can't remember) if they are getting them, you can hang around.

As far as I am aware, they are not taking pre-orders for the stock they are getting in before Christmas, it is first come first served, however, it is at the managers discression. So if you head in with a wadge of cash and say 'hey look - money £_£' he/she might take your name and phone number and call you when they get them.

How is this for harsh - A friend of mine went to the local Virtual Games and was told that they were getting premium packs for launch but it was first come first served. So on day of release he went there at 6am and waited 3 hours for them to open, when they did, he was told that the manager had decided to sell them all on ebay...wankers!

Yeah, the Live games that are backwards compatible work Xbox-Xbox 360. I know Halo 2 works system link xbox360-xbox, not sure about any others.

AH, I'm stuck on the roof top level on medium difficulty! How the hell do I kill Killian (the guy in the big ship) at the end! I wasted so much ammo on his engines and they just egt smoking but he deosn't die!

You have to admit though PDZ has ALOT going on at once espicially on the rooftop level; one minute i'm using a device to blow up these machines things, next i'm zip-lining down to a lower level, then i'm climbing a ladder while being shot at by that big flying thing, then you shoot that down or best you can, then you have to sniper people etc..then get out of the level!

Seriosuly, you can't just get a game and play for 5 mins. Play it more, atleast get to mission 2, mission 0 and 1 suck. Act like they're not there. And online rocks. atleast try it out.

I was going to bid of the exact same one...i think...although it started at £15 and i wasn't going to go that much higher espicially not over £100....

HOWEVER i did bid/win the Hot-Rod blue faceplate a couple of hours ago, purely because EVERY store in Clacton/Colchester have sold-out and are telling me it could be 2 months before they get anymore in! I won it on ebay for £22+ £1.50 P+P, a little bit dearer then the already quite expensive £15 for a bit of plastic, but it looks SO SO nice!

I would never go any higher then that though, i have promised myself...

Should have used the classic "I got this as a present but don't have a receipt, can I exchange it against something else in store", as long as its the same or greater value they'll fly with that. Same with any store as long as you're convincing.

I'm not actually :) . I bought all of those 360 games because there isn't many 360 games coming out until March 2006 which i really want, so i thought i get as many titles as i can, so i have something new to play on my 360 for all those months.

Still i'm stupidly addicited to stuff and have many problems, so don't listen to me.... :bouncy:

Caris the nice fellow pointed this out to me, some power packs are different. My core package had this power pack, which works fine! Notice the trianguler shaped insert plug bit and the colour.

Now look at One of the bricks Caris recieved. Its a different colour, and the plug bit that goes into the brick part has is square.

Is that to me? If so, I actually liked all the games i bought. Some have last-gen graphics which is a bit of a dissapointment, but i'm liking every game i bought so far and i don't regret buying any of them!

I've always like Tony Hawks games, GUN has surprised me, King Kong is very cinematic and Amped 3 is VERY fun to play, many people believe these are bad games but it seriously is just a case of 'everyones tastes and opinions'.

Oh and i think i have the SQUARE socket power brick and have had no problems, although i don't like the loose look the other end of the power brick has, it's where the light is...the lead is kinda coming out because it looks too heavy for the hole it's been put in...i keep a eye on it! :)

iv got the big grey lump of a powerpack, with the square adaptor.

Iv got a premium package btw.

And theyre cud be loads of reasons for different adaptors. company might not of been able to supply so many, different factorys have to get different ones for costs etc. U just dont know.

I am the only person that is getting pissed off with all the people that either fuck up your race by crashing into you on the first corner or instead of overtaking you fairly spin you out then take you. And then secondly on any class A race everyone uses the F50 GT regardless of weather they can actually control the thing. Can anyone recommend a car which can keep up with the F50 GT but is a bit easier to handle. I'm thinking i may buy the McLaren F1 but i gotta save up first

Can anyone recommend a car out of the A class which is capable of beating a F50 GT but not as hard to control. I hate it the way everyone uses that car on gotham regardless of weather they can control the bloody thing.

I was at Wolverhampton with one of my mates from uni and we headed to GAME. I asked about the 360 stock (as I heard everywhere was out) and to my suprise I was told that they had two core packs left. I ceased the oppurtunity there and then. I also got PD Zero and a 64mb memory unit (they were out of hard drives, natch.)

Needless to say I'm not regretting it - it's an amazing system and Perfect Dark Zero is great. So all is good here! :D

Was in Leeds this weekend - went into one of the GAME shops there and while I was in the q as my mate was buying a game, the woman in front asked if they had any Xbox360, I rolled my eyes but to my amazement he said YES we do actually! I though odd since no where else has them. She asked about the price of the console to be told, "We only have one left and its the basic package but it comes bundled with 8 games" and some other bits and bobs I cant remember. He then went onto say it would cost £600+. She said she only wanted the console by itself and he said we only sell it in this bundle!

Time for some jumbled musings on the Xbox 360 that have accumulated today and yesterday when a Core package from Argos turned up whilst I was at work. This was probably one of the longest work days of my life, to put it nicely without saying the word fuck. Oh... oh fuck. Right.

So the console itself looks incredibly bland. Perhaps because my Core lacks the chavtastic platinum "accessory" coloured disc drive cover, but everything seems so very white. Clean, yes, but I doubt it would have killed Microsoft to chuck in a few colour variations. I can see this newborn looking rather fetching cast in a light blue. I obtained a wired controller in the package and was able to browse the console's interface as you might expect.

The wired controller feels fairly nice, and the PC detected it promptly which was also fairly nice. The whole controller thing is... as you may have guessed, fairly nice. Can't fault it, except the replacement black/white shoulder buttons are going to be anus for communication during Halo 2 gunfight adventures.

I spent a good while ducking with the interface, swooshing through those menus like some kind of reinvented next-gen Sonic the Hedgehog. I also had a crack at the DVD playback... which remained largely the same as the Xbox, with some visual problems I'd hoped they'd do away with. Okay, so the DVD was hardly "official" (not porn) but I'd have liked there to be some filtering to disguise the fact it was a badly compressed knockoff.

... so, browse the interface I did. I then got bored and turned it off, too lazy to go to Tesco in search of next generation gaming for one day. Initial impressions, as some will know, were met with several "mehs" although I am pleased to say the meh has almost faded now I've actually experienced this bloody thing.

I went into town today on a futile search for a hard drive to no avail. Instead I returned to the nest clutching a memory pack, wireless controller, copy of Perfect Dark and a half consumed bottle of Lucozade, all of which I am glad to say have been sufficiently enjoyed. One was thrown away, I'll let you guess which (Perfect Dark. Just kidding).

Graphically the Dark speaks to me in a Half Life 2 kinda way. From what I've seen of this PC beauty, Dark sports similar details that I am currently enjoying more than the game itself. I like shooting out lights as I strafe along a dock. I enjoy blasting objects like bottles and crows to watch them explode in an array of satisfying gore. I also like Joanna, who looks a mighty fine lass in her little slutty clothing at the start of the game. It's also kind of cool to punch corpses around, and knock boxes and such into the water.

The story seems as messy as they claim, and the levels do have a bit too great a lapse in combat situations to keep me interested. Multiplayer seemed quite good, if not a little Timesplittersy (this is not a good thing) and I suppose I'll make my decision whether or not Game can have it back a little closer to the 10 day rental period expiring.

I couldn't tell you if it's worth getting a 360 yet, because I'm really not all that sussed on the device. I will however tell you that the machine's graphics are very nice on a standard crt with the provided connections and all this faff about them looking nothing without a HDTV has obviously never seen Joanna Dark's little arse wiggling as she leaps off a boat piloted by the female Perfect Dark equivalent of Johnny Quest's Hadji.

Might grab Kameo if I have the funds dancing about, but in closing it the true Xbox experience still resides in Halo 2, so no dice for Joanna this time. Probably gonna hafta break the sad news to my brother he can't have the old Crystal Xbox tomorrow, seeing as my lack of hard drive, those annoying shoulder buttons will impede my next generation Halo adventures.

I've played the kameo demo, its ok, everyone says its too short.
Perfect Dark Zero has good gameplay, the aiming is a bit hard, but you'll get use to it. The storyline is crap. Online is also great fun. I would recommend buying it, there's also onlnine co-op and the online is really fun, and the game feels like goldeneye. You can also have guests online.
PGR3 is a great racing, AMAZING graphics, but if you want more arcady, take NFSMW.
COD 2 (I dnt have it, but my friend does), is really fun, graphics are hood, its so intense and you feel like you're in war. Online is a bit laggy, and PDZ has better online and more variety.

Gamespot gave RR6 8.1 that's "great" enough for me. RR6 will rock simple because it's yet again based on the type 4 styleness, the ultimate in the RR series.

Halo also hostes on ppls connections and thers nearly no lag there when playing with 16players. Probably bad coding.

Only about 62,000 of the 159,000 Xbox 360 units available were purchased on Saturday and Sunday, according to an independent study by Enterbrain, which publishes leading Japanese game magazine Famitsu. That was also less than half the 123,000 units Microsoft sold of its previous generation Xbox in the first three days of sales in February 2002.Not good!

But Microsoft were supposed to be appealing to the Japanese market this time but getting some MAJOR RPG's on their side, and whilst they are slowly doing this; there is NO evidence of RPG's in their launch line-up. Had they made more of an effort with their terrible launch line-up and had some RPG's ready, maybe they would have sold more!

The Final Fantasy port isn't going to help the 360 in Japan at all, because the whole of Japan pretty much own Playstations, so they'll buy all their Fanal Fantasy's on that (they won't shell out on a new console from a brand they don't seem to like (the Xbox)!
We'll see what happens in 6 months time, when Microsoft have sorted some games out!

Yeah there is a price cut but only if you buy a XBOX360 with a ISP contract for xx months. This is a common method in Japan to sell hardware combined with contracts.

I know for a fact there won't be shortages like the 360 though, as Nintendo plan things better, so there won't be that annoying worry!

Actually, I think they expected better, the original Xbox sold better at launch in Japan than the 360. The slipping of those two key games is what caused so little sales.

RR6 has turned out to be a pretty average game, you should wait and see what burnout is like on the 360 before commenting on it.

Did you manage to pull it off. I'm interested in trying it out just to simply explore the levels and mainly to get a good look at vegas cause the detail is amazing on that city. wow, thats a very nice TV! What size is that? I have the 26" on order, was supposed to come on monday but all the 26" made after September 2005 are being recalled (u may wanna watch out for that) so doesn't look like i'll have mine intime for christmas which i'm kinda anoyyed about :(

I just wanna talk about perfect dark for a few seconds. i cannot play it

....

without stopping and looking around! its the most stunning game i have ever played. I was just on level 9, behind a guy on the lift. I aimed in 4x with my awesome gun and i could see all these individual hair strands. all these little details i know before long i know i will take for granted, im blown away. people comlain, saying the hardware isnt a big leap upwards, thats its not next gen. it may not be a leap upwards, it still is 3D animation, but its a huge leap to the side. all the detail. all the room. all the extras, im so so SO glad i preordered my 360. wow.

(bet ya'll thought i was having a whinge from the first sentence right? :p)
