Even hard drive space isn't that important. Unless you want loads of demos games and music on there, but I wouldn't have thought it'd be too much of an issue. I have 12gb left still.

it's kinda hard to guess when a major company is gonna release updated hardware, I doubt they'd be able to make it much smaller and quieter after only one year on the market without taking a loss on again and since they are now (supposedly) making profits on each sale of the current model I doubt they'd want to put a smaller version out there with a smaller profit margin.

But again this is just my opinion and I've been burnt in this sort of situation before by Apple :)

Well, here's your answer: we landed pictures of what appears to be the second Xbox 360 -- the Xbox 360 v2, if you will -- codenamed Zephyr. (The original Xbox 360, if you recall, was codenamed Xenon.) The long rumored about and awaited update to the console won't just feature a new, cooler 65nm processor, it's also finally added an HDMI port for full digital 1080p pleasure, as well as a 120GB drive, just what the doctor ordered. The 120GB drive may or may not come bundled with the kit, we don't yet know, just as we also don't yet know how much a Zephyr 360 is going to run (we imagine it'll go for the same price as currently so they can keep up a little on their expanding margin). Yesterday =
tryed taking the ports out the back of my 360 and the tv one..took out plug as well. put it all back in place and it worked fine yesterday no error messages.

Today =
First attempt to turn on and i get "E67" again...turned it off then on and happened again.
So i turned on the pc to goto the xbox.com/support thing...as pc was loading up i tryed for the third time and worked fine :confused: .
Tryed the things they suggested on the site like taking the Harddrive out and the memory turn on without them in and it worked fine.

SO HOPEFULLY it will be fine now..:nono:

IF i EVER have to pay to get my 360 fixed in the future this will be my last microsoft console i.e i wont be getting the xbox 3 :shakehead

They're cheap pieces of crap, both of my 360 ones are broken and the original Xbox ones break when you pick them up.

Yeah, that was him the tosser. I'm not sure if Americans are just louder than us quiter Europeans. Every time I go on I have to either listen to some 12 year old American whose voice is yet to break desperately asking to speak to girls, 2 people who are really good and feel the need to have a big conversation about Gears of War and how others are playing, generally being really big headed about the whole game, or people who just feel the need to shout down the mic telling people who can't hear them what to do.

Some of my experiences with Americans on Live are quite funny. One time on Halo 2 two yanks were going at each other about who had the hottest girl friend, one said he was dating some beauty queen which explains why he was sitting playing Halo 2....

Another time on GoW while waiting in the lobby 2 were arguing about who was making the most money and who had a bigger house/car etc. Crazy fools.

speaking of arguements had 2 guys argueing on texas holdum yesterday after someone won a hand.

I'm pondering an xbox 360, but I can't play online games at my uni accommodation for the next 6 months. What are the absolute must haves, and is it worth having without Live? I just think its time I got a reliable console that will always have a multitude of good titles.... If not this, I might get a PS3 when it drops in price since I never owned a Playstation and there's a big back-catalogue of games I want....

Personally I think that getting a 360 without Live is pointless, I have said this before to many people at work. I dont think that the 360 is a very good gaming machine on its own but with Live it hits a whole new level. I go up and down in regards to my 360 as im more of a single player kind of guy or multiplayer when in the company of mates in the same room.

So to summarize, get one if you can get Live but if not then I wouldnt recommend it. If you havent got a PS2 I can highly recommend getting one with the amount of titles that you can get on it all at great prices. Im sure Dom and others will back me up about this.

Agreed- the 360 is just a poor PS2 with better graphics without XBL- people have to be senile to not pay the £40 a year imo as its the only thing that makes the 360 unique.

anywho Shorty-get a PS2, more awesome offline games and a hell of a lot cheaper, wait a year or two till you know which console (360 or PS3) has the games you really want to play on then buy them when they're cheaper- win win!! :D

I also say to my friends, it's pointless getting a 360 if you're not even gonna consider getting Live. One person even went and said, £40 is a bit much....I nearly slapped him.

Games like Gears of War are really great single player. However if it didnt have these online and splitscree/lan modes of co-op personally Idont htink it woud have sold very well.

Controlling the camera along with the warthog is a great idea.
1, it allows you to drift at high speed
2, it makes sure the camera is always directly where you need it
3, gives great over all sense of speed.

Besides, it's not like you're using it for precision racing (unless you're dicking around on Zanzibar). You use it for a quick getaway and/or part of a co-ordinated assault.

There is a point to that control scheme though. There's so many buttons for Halo that there isn't any room for one to be the accelerator of the warthog, so using up and angles on the stick to turn was the best option. Rather have the button, but like I say, there wasn't any space to map it out.

That was a demo map that you could get with Gears. Lost Planet special map is coming out in summer as a download, but since I got the Lost Planet CE for the same price as the normal (£39.99) It was obvious which one to go for. Have it in the morning I shall. :D

VGA cable turned up and oh my the picture is amazing! So much clearer and lighter, the sound quality is less though because for VGA my tv only has a single 3mm jack.

Another lame thing is I can't play the original Halo and I going to assume any other game using PAL-50. Which is a shame because I'm going to have to keep swapping cables about.

I've tried and failed miserably with connecting Windows XP to the 360. You need to get Windows Media Connect, which you have to install then connect your pc to your 360 via someway, I did ethernet, through a usb to ethernet adaptor which in the end didnt work.

The story is interesting but I find the acctual gameplay to be boring.
The cutscens are also cool.

If the game was on ps2 I would haven given it a 6.8/10. But the overall look of the games saves it Imo.

It's good to hear Final Mix might make it out of Japan but still, I really don't think I'll see myself enjoying the game if Beuna Vista Games are making it themselves, when have they ever made an amazing game?

The Final Fantasy characters will all be removed and there probably won't be the same spark and enjoyment in the game that Nomura and his team managed to create so well.

I think Square Enix will keep it though because it's their second best selling franchise and Nomura seems to like making the games. He just needs to get Versus XIII and It's a Wonderful World done before he starts number 3.

Quite often games that average between 80-85% are just like that. I mean, Zell doesn't like Starfox on GC, and there are a lot of games that I just can't get into, despite other people liking them and them recieving very good reviews (Like PES. Its cool, but that's it. And Halo, it's fun but i wouldn't really play it much).

It's annoying when you spend money on a game wanting to like it, but you just don't :(

That has to be my most anticipated title for the 360, including HALO 3 ( will change when more is shown ) Everything about it just looks like a classic RPG and I cannot wait to play it. I may have to pick the soundtrack up aswell as its awesome.

Hell yeah! Its apparently out on March 9th. I have had some of my best Live experiences on online co-op campaigns on GRAW. Im hoping they do a Rainbow Six and make the story mode co-op aswell.

Im enjoying Lost Planet even though it seems like it is going to be really short. Im on chapter 6 now so im halfway through it. I took the Worm boss down, hes was a right SOB the Moth on the other hand was stupidly easy.

Just tried the online mode and only managed to get 1 kill in a 10 min game :grin: Looks like some practice is in order if I am to go up levels. Saying that with my 1 kill I went up 4 levels which isnt too bad. Also I like the fact that you can increase your level as it never decreases no matter how bad you do.

The bit where you leave the house and got to get to the APC in thirty seconds. How the hell, I rush myself and get killed. I take my time and don't have enough time. Any tactics lads?

Get behind the boomers but dont activate the emergance hole. Then either kill the boomers to activate it and run/kill. or just leg it.

Did you kill the Moth flying around level 5 at the beginning? Alot of people are thinking you get the achievement for killing the end of level boss on level 4 and are mixing it up with the real target. This moth you dont have to kill as its just flying around so you can just run past it and miss it, kind of like the Worm.

In PGR3, how the feck do you get the fecking gold medals in the bastard cone challenges. The ammount of kudos ramps up from an achievable 1500 to 7500 from silver to gold. I can do all the challeges apart from these damn cone ones.

How are you finding it to play? Alot of people gave up on that game pretty quickly, I personally loved it and plan on going back to it to get my final achievements.

I'm really liking it! I find the shooting frustraiting (can't move while aiming, a bit old school Resi Evil), and getting shot causes you to stand still fo vital seconds! So little things like that are a bit annoying but I like the whole 3 day thing! (Very Majora's Mask, whick I loved!) Its a crying shame there is no multiplayer or co-op, that would have ruled! I am finding the fact that ur in a mall and not able to switch the lights on very annoying but I will live with it...there should at least be a flashlight I think!

So I'm really enjoying it but there are some minor niggles...can't wait for the next one if it has multiplayer!

Mulitplayer in what? I couldnt see a mulitplayer in Dead Rising. Maybe a fight to the death type game, where masses of zombies come at you.
Theres a multiplayer in Viva pinata, but its just with 2 people on one console.
The first tiem I started up Viva pinata, i couldnt create a save slot. I was gettign annoyed, then I saw the second controller plugged in, took it out and it sorted it. Was worried I'd bought a broken copy.

Co-op mode would be quite cool! One player could distract the Zombies while the other rescues someone. There could be the good old Kill as many Zombies as u can within the time limit. Capture the Body Bag, where you have to drag said bodybag back to your safe zone while fending off Zombies and the other team...I don't know excatly but stuff like that would rule!

Dead Rising frustrates me so much sometimes. I still need to complete it so went back to it but have hardly any time to get to the next mission i have to do. Once I do get there everything is just a rush and i can't do it.

Exactly why I gave up on it. I spent hours building up my level, to make the bosses easier to beat and to get the 53,000 kills achievement, but have just started to run out of time on the next case. Basically, it's not fun so why bother?

Everything that you get with the Premium pack will work with the Core if that's what you mean.

Don't get the Core though, getting the Premium is so much cheaper if you're getting even one or two of the accessories anywya.

No HDD really limits Live, you can't download any extra game content, demos, videos or Arcade games.
If you want the full Live experience you need the Premium pack.

I got a 360 today. So far finding it really good though it seems pretty noisy. I got a pretty good deal for Game and then picked up GoW from Asda. I've got PGR3, GoW, Arcade Unplugged and Tomb Raider...

I'm kinda disapointed by how it looks on my monitor. I'm guessing VGA will be a massive leap over composite.

Also the level 8 boss was a nightmare, took me a few attempts to bring him down.

Oh shit, I think my 360 is faulty. :( I was playing PES6, and it made weird noises like scratching or ticking, a few minutes later, disc read error. FUCK! Look at the disc, slight circle around it. It doesn't make that noise for the other games but it appears that the other games do have a slight circle around them. Tell me thats normal and its a one off. Otherwise me and Microsoft will have a fun conversation tomorrow.

Edit - To be fair it always has just made more noise for PES6, and it appears to be reading it now.

At least I'm not alone. The circle if it is a scratch, then its very feint. I can barely see it, so I'm doubting whether its a scratch. And the game booted fine after, but in fear I've shut the beast off. And I'll probably let it be until tomorrow.

I remember seeing a video a long while back, when I didn't know anything but nintendo, where a 360 owner had their console vertical, put in a disk and turned it horizontal. He took the disc out and there was a visible ring. I thought that maybe there was something loose scratching it. Maybe the same is with you ramar?

I've seen that video, though my console is horizontal and I never move it when its turned on. The scratch is barely visible, unlike that video. :-\ I think I'll see, if it continues then I'll get on the blower. I could just be over reacting.

Just finished Zone of the Enders erm I mean Lost Planet :) Seriously though, it did all go Z.O.E at the end didnt it? Great game with some awesome boss battles and like Dead Rising it is short and sweet but with lots of replay value and an awesome online mode which I have been enjoying alot more than GoW to be honest purely because it doesnt take a half hour to get a game shorted.

360 without xbox live is absolute wank. Had lost planet for 3 days, and couldnt play online, sucked. But the game is well good imo. Gonna cain it online today, if anyones up for joining me.
