I really, REALLY want Just Cause after playing the demo! Even Saints Row got good reviews.... I haven't managed to get Dead Rising, Saints Row OR Just Cause yet! Argh!

Doom XBLA is good, whoever asked! It's essentially the same as the CE Xbox version, but looks slightly crisper (try the demo) and yeah, the Live play is pretty sweet. I'd say if yr a big Doom fan then its worth a few quid to get good Live play from it.

on smackdown how do u pick up ur opponent?Depends on the wrestler, with Triple H you just initiate a power grapple (Right bumper + right analog stick pushed right), then click the right analog in to go into ultimate control mode. You can then walk around whilst holding your opponent up in the air.

That's if 07 is the same as 06 in that regard anyway. The weapons are available in the demo, they're all located in the crowd area on the top right of the screen, outside of the ring. There's tables, chairs and a plethora of other weapons there.

Going to try and liberate the rest of San Esperito now, and then I can burn Just Cause for containing that damned race along the mountainside. It was like the game had a vendetta against me, pedestrians throwing themselves under my wheels, cars literally appearing a few feet infront of me, getting stuck -in- a rock...I just did that race, I just used the Heavy Drop Helicopter and flew over the trees, traffic and rocks. Easy. I'm returning the game for a refund tomorrow, I spent the last couple nights trying to squeeze the achivements out of it. I really can't be arsed to do the rest of the takeover/liberation ones though.

As for buying it, it's alright for a rental. It gets old pretty fast.

I just did that race, I just used the Heavy Drop Helicopter and flew over the trees, traffic and rocks. Easy.
I tried that on three seperate occasions, but the race wouldn't start when I tried to use the gyrocopter.

If anyone's looking to buy Just Cause I'll most likely be putting my copy in the trade folder for £25 including postage. It is a pretty good game, and I've had fun with it. Unfortunately it's at its best when you're making your own fun — driving off cliffs, hijacking planes, jumping over small islands in boats, that sort of thing — but it might prove a nice stopgap for those waiting for GTA4, and at least it isn't about sodding gangsters.

i'm gunna get rid of BFME 2 and maybe TT cos i dont play it or RR 6 just cos its huage and gets a little boring as its just ridge racer-i'm going to stick to the PSP versions, it makes more sense as a portable game somehow.

i'll prob use the credit note either for Wii games or to get EnArms or save it for GoW.

Anyway, Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast had awesome graphics, and even better when connected to a vga monitor. (I know, I tried it.) SO I understand some people do not think that the new game has awesome graphics. But I don't think they look bad either.

I could only find kind of small screenshoots, and non of those seems to have been captured when the DC was showing the game on a VGA monitor. (I found the image to be much clearer and more detailed versus my tv.)

When you go to the store to pick up your US Dreamcast system, I would definitely recommend taking home a copy of Sonic Adventure. Great graphics and sound, varied gameplay, extensive network options, and plenty of fun are more than enough reasons to buy the game. For those new to the Dreamcast, or fans of Sonic and friends, Sonic Adventure is a must buy. A- "Gaming age 09/06/99"

Well, it is only Sonic, Shadow and Silver's sections that are part of the actual story. It's been found that you can actually play as all the other characters in Sonic's levels once you meet them in the game. They're just extras though.

LOL! Not too far off actually - Sega hired a band called Zebrahead to record the main theme, "His World". There's a rap part in it that is kinda Linkin Park-esque. It's alright, but nothing spectacular. It was on the official Japanese Sonic site for a short period of time, before it was taken off. It was ripped off the site by fans before it dissapeared, and can be downloaded. I do have it, but I don't think the mods would like me if I uploaded it.. :heh:

Just got the new OXM today, Splinter Cell got 9/10 so no suprise their and its a definite purchase for me. It also talks about Rainbow Six and the Vision Camera. You can scan your face into the game so that your character looks like you, I may pick the Camera up now.

Definitely, Sonic games have gotten worse and worse, Adventure was quite decent, Adventure 2 was decent but a bit boring, Heroes was crap, Shadow I've never played but was meant to be shitter still, and this isn't looking too good. Hopefully this is an early build and it'll be better come release.

It looks like the GTA idea (done well) meets Medieval 2 Total War (time and graphics wise) meets PoP meets SC.

Well, I've just tried to play the Sonic demo again and it's even worse than the last time I played it. Words can't describe how bad it is. You're supposed to use the homing attack for things but all too often you fly off and miss what you were trying to get to entirely and fall to your death. It's unplayable, and I really want it to be good. :(

this is aimed at all you people bitching and whining about the 360-thinking that you might get rid of it.

WHATS THE BLOODY POINT!!! theres loads of good games coming out in the next 6 months and late into next year, Halo 3, GoW, Viva Pinata, Halo Wars, Castle Crashers, Lumines Live, Bioshock, Crackdown, GTA 4, Forza 2, PGR4, Fable 2, Guitar Hero 360, Half Life 2 (+ episode 1+2 and portal), Mass Effect, Too Human, Trusty Bell, Lost Odysee, BLue Dragon, Call of Duty 3, PES 6, FIFA 07, Alan Wake, Assasins Creed, and many more!

now unless your very hard on money and have to sell your 360 theres no reason to sell now, unlike with the PSP, your just going to get a 360 again in less than a year and lose money probably, and then have to hunt down the games you enjoyed and all the accesories you already have etc as well as losing progress in games and stuff.

so it may seem sensible and a good way of saving money at the moment but its totally nonsensicle and slightly idiotic to sell your 360 now just as the games everyone has been waiting for a year for start coming out.

grrrrr-thats my little rant over, so people read it and do what you want-just dont forget about all the fucking amazing looking games you wont get to play if you do sell up.

WHATS THE BLOODY POINT!!! theres loads of good games coming out in the next 6 months and late into next year, Halo 3, GoW, Viva Pinata, Halo Wars, Castle Crashers, Lumines Live, Bioshock, Crackdown, GTA 4, Forza 2, PGR4, Fable 2, Guitar Hero 360, Half Life 2 (+ episode 1+2 and portal), Mass Effect, Too Human, Trusty Bell, Lost Odysee, BLue Dragon, Call of Duty 3, PES 6, FIFA 07, Alan Wake, Assasins Creed, and many more!

now unless your very hard on money and have to sell your 360 theres no reason to sell now, unlike with the PSP, your just going to get a 360 again in less than a year and lose money probably, and then have to hunt down the games you enjoyed and all the accesories you already have etc as well as losing progress in games and stuff.

so it may seem sensible and a good way of saving money at the moment but its totally nonsensicle and slightly idiotic to sell your 360 now just as the games everyone has been waiting for a year for start coming out.

I'm going exactly the same way mate. Don't know why I have a 360 tbh. I never play it and there is nothing on it that interests me at the moment. I enjoyed Kameo despite it frustrating the hell out of me, and PGR3 was really good, but I couldn't be arsed to get many silver medals, let alone fully complete it.

Other than that? I've played Oblivion once, Dead Rising twice, Burnout and DOA have barely been touched for weeks and weeks now, and I wont even say anything about PDZ.

I wont sell the console because I'm sure I'll want something for it evetually, but this is a very boring spell right now. I've had more fun with Brain Training and Tetris recently.

The PGR3 bundle (£300) looks really good, comes with a extra wireless controller aswell and I can get GRAW for £25. Is that the best option?

According to Epic VP Mark Rein, who has been speaking at the GDC London today.

Speaking to an audience of developers at GDC London today, the often outspoken Rein said: "Sony says the next generation starts when they say so. I say, that's bullshit. Gears of War is the first second-generation game for Xbox 360 and it looks very fine. You will never see launch titles that look this good."

Rein also shot down reports claiming that Gears of War will be a short lived single-player experience at only 10 hours. "Someone said that at TGS but they were wrong," said Rein. "If you're on the development team and you've played it 30 times then sure, you can get through it in ten hours but for first time players it's going to be at least 12 hours."

Although undoubtedly Microsoft's key title this holiday season, there's still a lot of secrecy surrounding Gears of War, and it looks likely to remain that way until the game is released.

"We've shown this game quite a few times but we are trying to counteract all the hype now because we want people to know there is a lot in there that hasn't been seen before. People will get this home and find a lot of surprises," Rein said.

Gears of War is scheduled for release in North America on November 12 and on November 17 across Europe.

According to Epic VP Mark Rein, who has been speaking at the GDC London today.

Speaking to an audience of developers at GDC London today, the often outspoken Rein said: "Sony says the next generation starts when they say so. I say, that's bullshit. Gears of War is the first second-generation game for Xbox 360 and it looks very fine. You will never see launch titles that look this good."

Rein also shot down reports claiming that Gears of War will be a short lived single-player experience at only 10 hours. "Someone said that at TGS but they were wrong," said Rein. "If you're on the development team and you've played it 30 times then sure, you can get through it in ten hours but for first time players it's going to be at least 12 hours."

Although undoubtedly Microsoft's key title this holiday season, there's still a lot of secrecy surrounding Gears of War, and it looks likely to remain that way until the game is released.

"We've shown this game quite a few times but we are trying to counteract all the hype now because we want people to know there is a lot in there that hasn't been seen before. People will get this home and find a lot of surprises," Rein said.

Gears of War is scheduled for release in North America on November 12 and on November 17 across Europe.

Does anyone else find Xbox360 games to be too dark? And I don't mean all the time (otherwise I'd check my TV...), just sometimes when it gets dark, I really can't in front of me. I've just played Burnout and in some dark bits its really annoying. Same with PGR3 and Oblivion. Anyone else find this?
Yeah i noticed that on Oblivion, I have to constantly walk around with a torch in my hand, even in the daylight, its a bit darkish.

Got the Carbon demo, guess what its set in NFSU1's world! Result! Thats my fave of the series.

Its definatly alot faster, but the drifting mechanics are just down right broken on the drift track...

Wish it was in a different place. I was looking forward to some awesome mountain racing, ah well. The course isn't too good in the demo either. The customization seems awesome though. Let's hope that the demo is only the cruddy part of the city.

Yeah the drifting in Carbon is well shit, Its way to easy to take the car into a drift, No use of the handybrake is required. The customization is prety cool though.

By the looks of the images on ign, and the sounds of things, i think i read somethign aboutit a while back It sounds like a scare ou shitless game. with when it goes dark some things come out or something.

Well, after a few play throughs on Carbon. I've got the drifting controls sorted... and Dom the canyon stuff is all new. Seems thats the majority of the game now and its so not NFS. Its really really tense, one small move wrong and it can be over like that *clicks fingers*.

After a few goes of playing the demo I've decided that it seems like it will be a good game. The customization is so damn cool now, certainly a big thing for this next installment. The normal style racers seem fine but the Canyon race seems a bit... well not perfect. The engine of the game doesn't seem suited to the right corners of the race track. I seem to either go too fast or too slow around the corners. I never seem to take a awesome corner on that track. It might just be the course or that I need to learn more of the handling mechanics

I couldnt get into it, I may give it another go before its release. I bought Doom last night and Im well pleased with it. It brought back alot of good memories.

I really want a new game but there is just NOTHING out right now that I'm interested in. Been playing Burnout a bit this week, but I want new games damn it!!

The games I'm interested in right are Gears of War, Viva Pinata, Banjo 3, Alan Wake, and Sonic (despite shitness of demo). Really can't wait for some of these. Next year will really be much better for 360 imo. We've had some great games so far, but not enough.

I got achivement for "happy ending". It was funny. The game itself was good, but not groundbreaking in any way. I'd say it was far away from Skies of Arkadia, Grandia or a Final Fantasy game. (Mostly inferior in terms of story) But I liked the battlesystem.

I think it deserves around 7/10. Nice game.
