I dont think i want DOA4, it looks like a game you get bored of really quickly. Like "punch...kick...block. i win! again? punch..kick...block..." but im most likely wrong, ive never played a DOA4 properlly.

360 Dash board update

According to a source close to Microsoft, the problems that are currently being experienced on the Xbox 360 dashboard will be fixed shortly.

The dashboard has a few minor problems, but annoying nevertheless. The screen freezes regularly on PGR3 when you try and access the dashboard, leading to the re-setting of the console. Other complaints include consoles crashing and the overall navigation of the dashboard.

The update will include the following:

1) Fixes for lockups in Xbox 360 games.
2) Additional functionality to the Dashboard.
3) Camera support for the Dashboard so that you can use your webcam.

I realy hate that cloneboss in DOA. It's so unfair. Arrrrgh. It always ruins my time in Timeattack and I always spend alot of time with it in story. Whenever i have a good start it goes in supersayan mode and kills me in two attacks. :( I want it removed :cry:

It' clearly states on sega-europes website 17.02.06! I hope it stays this way and i hope we get a free faceplate (but i doubt it).

You ain't seen nothing yet, DoA4s boss just takes the piss, teleporting in on you all the time, and then hitting you with long string combos. which if you manage to block you'll be lucky to get a hit in.

Spot on! The minute you don't take attack the boss, the sh*t kicks, punches and goes absolutely mental and won't stop to your dead. One move is horrible as it takes around a half of your life (i think people know the one i mean).

Really horrible boss, took me about 30 attempts to defeat it on alot of the characters in story mode actually!

That's the only boss i have truble with in the game (so far)
And i remeber the boss in DOA3. It was also realy hard. I love the fact that differnt people have different bosses. To bad the hate boss is the last one in Time attack mode :cry:

I've got my 360 on a 17" for HD gaming and its not all its cracked up to be.


menu's look ace, text looks crystal clear but games only look a little clearer with Loads of jagged blooodey edges. :(

I use a 17" HDtv and the differnce is realy amazing. Strange you can't se the difference while palying.

if you ahve the money IMO for the best picture is to get a flatscreen wide screen TV.

But just go for the monitor if you want, its not unplayable or anything, far from its just the jaggys do my head in...

EDIT: go to your nearest demo pod and see what you think,you can see jaggys on all HD-TV, it might just be who doesnt like HD that much but i would take a peek.

Jaggies on your monitor all comes down to how good a monitor you have, its not gonna be amazing for £250.

60 single player levels and 10 multiplayer levels (1-8 players). 3 or 4 basic levels included in the demo as well as a 7 minute multiplayer trial. Multiplayer was quite fun, I may buy it tomorrow.

Only problem is it's 800 points to buy.

Wow, Full Auto is fun! I have to say, though. The graphics are HORRIBLE. Actually, they're not BAD, they're just not good, either. I know that this statement gets knocked around a bit (mostly unjustly) but it really does look like an Xbox game.

Sega have managed to deliver a game that plays great, and seems loads of fun - but also one that I would be embarrased to show any 360 cynic.

Yeah, it can be done I think. But wont it be annoying having a huge black bar down the middle of your screen? Just buy a HDTV...

You have to remember it's an early demo (was on the OXM 360 demo disk before christmas), hopefully they'll have sorted any issues out by now, as I hear it's gone gold already.

Just downloaded the Full Auto demo, it plays,feels and looks like a Dreamcast game, which wouldnt be tobad if i hadnt just spent £280 on a Xbox360...

I don't think Full Auto will be any differnet at release. The frame-rate should be better, but I think that's down to it being a demo on your hard-drive. The frame-rate on the FIFA and NFS-MW demos is awful as well, but I've heard that they're not on the proper games.

Yeah, she is. Although so far:
I've finished the game with characters up and including Jan Lee. (as in vertically on each row, not horizontally) and unlocked 3 characters. I am rather impressed at the game, it's dangerously fast and is an incredible challenge.

Like was said earlier the frame rate is probably down to being on the hard drive rather than a disk, as the same deom on the OXM 360 demo disk didn't have frame rate issues.

You can get the achivments that way when your times, but you cant get the unlocks with one round, but there easy as theres no limit.

DoA is by far my Fav 360 game. I played online today agains a friend who was good at DOA3... he Owned me big time :( I have much to learn.

Hmmmm, I'm still unsure about getting DOA4...

I'm a massive beat-em-up fan. The Street Fighter, Tekken and Virtua Fighter series are some of my favourite games ever, but I've NEVER liked DOA. It's always seemed like fighting by numbers, and just a Virtua Fighter rip-off with rubbish characters.

All Xbox owners went wappy over DOA3, and I put that down to the fact that it was a launch game. After all, DOA and DOA2 hadn't created any kind of interest when they were released (due to the fact that people could buy Virtua Fighter/Tekken/Soul Calibur). However, everyone seems to love DOA4. I reckon I'll have to try it first.

Wow, i actually really loved this game, the graphics were fantastic and i loved nearly every level. The desert one looking by far the best!

However the ending was AWFUL, who in gods name decided that? or do you think they just ran out of time? I had to laugh! LOL

Overall though superb game, i loved the final boss as well, although it was by far the easiest ever.

Also i had The Rasmus's 'Dead Promises' song playing while the credits rolled and it really goes well! It's funny how most songs work with end credits ain't it?

The points just show that you completed the game fully and the achievements are cool as well because you may complete something really hard in the game which could mean a rare achievement or something....

I like the fact that over time you'll get more and more and you never know there could be competitions to win something if you have the most points/achievements!

Even if you just got say a new character or stage etc for that i would of done it, if its there to be unlocked i'll try to unlock it.

Whast your problem with wanting to unlcock Achivments?, The grade D,E,F are worth nothign anyways, its just soemthing to do, i never said i would prefer GP/Achivments to stages or characters or anything?

A couple of days ago, we reported about the 360 dashboard getting an update. An update on this matter has emerged: according to Hard OCP, Microsoft plans to release the major update on Monday, January 30. Also, an update for Call of Duty 2 is scheduled to appear sometime next week as well, probably on Tuesday.

This all sounds very nice, but according to the pattern we've been seeing since the launch of the Xbox 360, it wouldn't suprise us if these updates were delayed. We'll just have to wait and see!

I decided to spend a little bit more on a hdtv if i do buy one. They are both eveny priced but the 24in has a way better resolution. But the 23in is an hdtv. I plan to use whichever one i get for my computermonitor, a tv, and for a xbox 360. So which one overall would give me the best performance for all 3 things.

yes i what you mean about the part where u have to at least 8 games on your list, to have them actually send you games, since its quite annoying, however apart from this one issue i have not had any probs with swapgame, on numerous occasions i had newly released, sent to me like POP3 :t2t, GTA: SA, HALO2, Call of Cuttlu etc, also they posting system is impeccable, i get all games being within 1 business day, yes 1 business day which is quite remarkable

Argh how annoying, I'm currently playing through both Perfect Dark Zero and Halo:CE, and the aiming is totally different.Like most of you know On PD0 up is up and down is down, and on Halo up is down and down up(I'm sure you already know...but for those who don't). Its so hard to adapt to PD0 after Halo.

Moto GP and Tomb Raider look unlikely to make that month, Tomb Raider is set for a April release it seems.

Gears of war (which we knew) has now been moved from March, no surprise there!

and by far the worst news of all: Elder Scrolls has now got a release date of April 28th 2006, so Gameplay say! It was never given a official date, but March would of been fairer considering they stated early 2006, i don't believe end of april is early 2006!

Perfect Dark Zero is different depending on who you talk to. I've talked to people that think it's amazing and others that think it's tripe and can't stand it. I fall into the latter camp, but then i'm generally hard to please and have been tainted by Halo 2 online every day for the past year.

Dead or Alive is difficult, yes, but I haven't really found myself getting frustrated whilst playing it. It's not a complex, technical fighter so it doesn't take long to get into at all. It's also a lot of fun online with friends. I like it.

Itagaki (DOA developer) confirms that there still are a few problems with playing the game on Xbox Live, and Team Ninja is working hard to fix the issues. He told the magazine that currently his team is having problems figuring out whether it's Xbox Live or the game itself that's causing the issues. He said the first update is scheduled for mid-February. Aside from bug fixes, it will also feature some minor changes to the game's interface.

Itagaki also told Famitsu Xbox 360 that plans to release new outfits for DO4 characters via Xbox Live Marketplace have been put off due to budget and staffing issues. I just prefer PDZ multiplayer levels in general as well. Halo 2's vehicles are pretty cool though, a prefer Halo's car to PDZ's Hovercraft for example!

Anyway! I've just played Kameo for like a hour and a half and i have literally found like 20 of them strawberry things! I have also went into the building in the enchanting area and spent hours doing tasks and climbing up the tower etc.. theres so much i never knew was there! It still looks lovely on a HDTV!

I do love the last two costumes. Besides, story wise it wouldn't be possible. For a Spartan to get into the Spartan Armour (i'm sure it has a propper name) all their bones have to be broken, this is why they don't get fall damage. I read about this somewhere, it mentions in it in the books. So she'd basically be a lump of skin and bones. Interesting...

You know it be cool if it had the Halo shield damage effect for her.

I HATE this statement about the aiming in PDZ. The aiming in the game is SPOT-ON. If something is in your cross-hairs and you fire - you will hit it.

It DOESN'T have auto-aim like Halo, so people who aren't used to playing FPS games without auto-aim will find it difficult at first. It also utilizes a system similar to Counter-Strike, where the longer you hold down shoot, the less accurate you are. So you have to fire little bursts rather than just holding down the button and spraying RCP90 bullets everywhere.

I HATE this statement about the aiming in PDZ. The aiming in the game is SPOT-ON. If something is in your cross-hairs and you fire - you will hit it.

It DOESN'T have auto-aim like Halo, so people who aren't used to playing FPS games without auto-aim will find it difficult at first. It also utilizes a system similar to Counter-Strike, where the longer you hold down shoot, the less accurate you are. So you have to fire little bursts rather than just holding down the button and spraying RCP90 bullets everywhere.

There is an auto aim in Perfect Dark and it can be turned on/off in the menu. Not that it makes much of a difference, it's still too hard to shoot anyone because of the shit aiming/speed at which players move.

As has been observed before, this is a problem with overplaying Halo more than Perf- Aw, fuck it. Perfect Dark Zero sucks. I'd just like to add that the aiming in Call of Duty 2 is brilliant, and that doesn't use an auto-aim to my knowledge.

My qualms with the aiming aren't anything to do with the fact that you have to be pin-point, it's the fact that aligning the sticks is so... loose. Halo has good weight behind its analogue control as if you're pointing the weapon, whereas in PDZ it feels much more like you're waving a gun on a stick.

This is why almost all close quarters gunfights result in players rolling around on the floor for about a minute until someone gets lucky. And I play ranked games.

I'm not very good, no, but you don't have to be to notice the badly calibrated sticks.

I've muddled with the sensitivity settings for ages, but I know it's not just me who's having issues: everyone I play with has confirmed that the analogue control is unwieldy — one of the better people I've often played with has his settings on 5 for both X and Y axes to avoid flailing.

So, yeh, Amped 3 anyone? Any good? I was all excited about Quake 4 before the launch, but then I played the demo...

Also Ridge Racer 6! I've pretty loved them all, but I played it in Game, and, I hate to be a 'graphics-whore', but it looked shocking compared to PGR3. All the models are nice and stuff, but it doesn't seem very flashy. PLUS, I've got loads more to do in PGR3, so it'd be silly me getting another racing game.

Amped 3 is a really fun game. Don't be put off with so called "bad reviews". I've seen places giving it 7 or above which is more than average. The game will last you a while as once you've finished the story mode there are 200+ challenges to get gold medals on to totally finish the game. If you like snowboarding games you should like Amped 3.

I think people just slacked it off because it doesn't look all that next gen. When you play it you notice great textures and things like that which couldn't be done on this gen.

In the end the game is about its gameplay and great presentation. It will certainly make you laugh for sure.

Ridge Racer 6 plays nothing like PGR3, it's nearly at the opposite end of the spectrum. RR6 is nearly up there with the best of the series, Type 4. :)

Perfect Dark Zero doesn't suck, your not allowed to dislike it, you haven't played it long enough to give a opinion, have you played it over live? perhaps you haven't gave it a chance?! Are you sure? Maybe your being a bit to harsh?

Well if your going onto Xbox Live then you can just update your 360 to make it play the B/C games, theres a update somewhere (Jordan knows about live updates etc..)

However if your like me (who hasn't got live yet) then you will need to buy a B/C disc from www.xbox.com, or you can burn your own copy (which didn't work for me).

It costs £2, and it will arrive in about 2 weeks, i got mine today (to play Half Life 2). I believe you slot in the disc before you put in the games disc (a little bit like a freeloader although i could be wrong, i'll have to read up on it) or it will save something to the hard-drive to save you keep doing this.

It looks really professional actually, something which comes with a new Microsoft PC.

Your reply kinda wraps up exactly what happens to me alot of times on this forum but i normally keep quiet. I wasn't allowed a opinion about Halo 2's multiplayer without being attacked, and i stated i was too harsh on it to keep peace! I dislike Halo 2's multiplayer and i doubt playing with real people will help that, actually it probably make it worse considering all the immature people i seem to come across, no-one will change my mind about that, i find it funny that no-one commented that you should of elaborated on why you hated PDZ so much like they did me!

mine went towards another gamecube 2nd hand but in brand new condition (the fans wernt even dusty) must of been a unwanted gift or something.
