View Full Version : DS online question
Sorry if this is a bit of a stupid question, or if it's been asked before, but there's something I want to get straight about playing the DS online.
Say your Internet provider allows you downloads of up to a certain limit every month (here we get 30GB per month), will playing the DS online use up some of this amount? If so, any idea how much? Is it worth going for unlimited monthly downloads?
It will, yes, as you're uploading and downloading information. But this will have little impact on your monthly usage. If it does though: change ISP's - monthly caps suck.

WHAT! Monthly caps?! WHat kind of internet are you using (yes I am a little n00b)
Okay, thanks. To be honest, I don't think I'll be able to change to an unlimited one where I'm living at the moment - I'm staying at my girlfriend's parents' house this year at uni, and it's up to them whether they change or not. I doubt they'd want to just so I could play DS online. I'll just have to try it out and keep an eye on how much I'm using.

I doubt it will use much, when I play WoW for a few hours it only uses up 4Mb-8Mb. Which isn't a lot for such a vast game.
It better not take much of my limit, I have a rubbish 2Gb limit ;_;.

Wait, do you have to connect with a computer to play? I thought you just used the DS?

Your DS will use virtually nothing. There is going to be so little to send over the network. Where you are on the track going out and where your 3 opponents are coming in.
