Nintendo dose it again

According to ign, the Micro has sold over 150000 units first week, 60% of the units were the famicom edition.

The DS still outsold the PSP (new color) according to earlier reports.

Nintendo also dominates on the software side.
8 out of the top 10 selling games this week are on a nintendo handheld.

#. Platform - Title - Publisher - This week's sales (Total sales) - Weeks on sale

This is the news to me that says DS is killing PSP in Japan. I know DS has consistently outsold PSP since launch with the exception of 5 weeks, but I could never be sure that PSP might suddenly resurface. Now I'm certain.

When new DS colours come out sales sky rocket. 9 months into the year and DS is continuing to outsell PSP despite the PSP launching a new colour. Considering the best of DS is yet to come at Christmas and beyond with the WIFI network and the big budget games it is fairly apparent that the PSP certainly can't stop Nintendo's little touchy fella despite claims that it would wipe the floor.

What coulour is the latest PSP? White?

Anyways, over on cubed3.com they have news and sales figures talking about how Nintendo could already be watching as the PSP dissapears in the UK,
I think it's too earlt to tell in the UK, but here it is anyway;

The new PSP is white.
I think the psp is to expensive for most people, and DS wil probably do better than psp when the good games role out.

Fantastic news!
Not only is GBM selling well but it hasn't exactly harmed DS sales at all. Tamagotchi DS looks like it could become another 500K+ DS seller soon
And like Mimternet said, the best is still yet to come

And yes I heard PSP's sales are falling in UK, but bear in mind GTA has yet to come out yet and stock is currently very low.

..Phoenix Wright done very well too!

Great news, im glad the ds is doing better, it deserves too, been as it isnt an exact repplica of gc, like psp is almost the same as ps2, im not saying the psp is bad, its quite good and i like it but i prefer ds, and id rather buy some more ds games than a psp because gta is the only title that i fancy on the psp and i want tons for the ds. Anyways, glad the ds is doing well and im glad its doing well in uk too because when psp dominated the top ten boards the first week of its launch I thought... Oh crap. lol

I really don't think we can say the PSP is finished in Europe. It sold very well it's opening week and is out of stock in a few places hence why it's not doing so great this week. I do believe it's too expensive though and this will hurt the sales a lot in Europe.

The thing is, PSP is worth every penny. As for DS, Nintendo needs to hurry up and get killer titles like Kirby, Advance Wars and Mario Kart released this side of Christmas if it wants to get the punters buying. Maybe it's me, but given a choice between Urban Asphalt GT and Ridge Racer DS or Ridge Racer PSP and Wipeout Pure, I know what I'd choose...

If it has homebrew compatible firmware, then yes. If not, then no. It doesn't even have an alarm clock like the DS. God bless that alarm clock... I've used it more times than played games on the thing.

I'd submit that there's a fair few gamers out there waiting for the Nintendo DS to really kick into gear, myself included. I'll be picking one up with Nintendogs and Meteos in October, with Kirby, Sonic, Mario Kart, Metroid and Animal Crossing to follow.

I use my Game&Watch as an alarm clock, hahaha!!

Anyway I really hate it when people that get hyped over GTA...It's not that good. I haven't seen anything on it really and people are like "GTA's out for the PSP soon. It'll be wicked"....Though if it's like GTA:SA it wont be, i haven't really heard much positive about GTA:SA.

Quite frankly, I'd rather spend my money on a mp3 player and games for DS than a psp.

ALways good to see Nintendo do well, this convinces me that the Revolution will win in Japan too. But fall 3rd in the west. Again.

The PSP doesnt interest me in the slightest, except to play emulated games but you can do that on the DS.

I like nintendo

This is great news for Nintendo and fans alike. Me being a Nintendo Fanboy ( proud of it ) I was loving it that the PSP is taking a beating even if it is in Japan. Like others though it is far to early to say whether it will fail in theis country I highly doubt it will as unfortunately Europe and the US has a different taste in games hence the likes of EA and liecensed rubbish storming the charts.

Back on topic great news!

But then again we need EA, or poor europe wouldn't be getting We Love Katamari, a sequel to one of the most beautiful and refreshing games this generation.
