Wow, these are looking fantastic from an artistical standpoint, else I agree that they look creepy. I wonder how the Mario would look who fought these enemies.

There's a mario drawing on the site but it's not in the same style as those ones, it's just a different cartoony variant.

The creative section says in the description that it's to showcase your own work, so I presumed this would go in general.

Thaty's for the I, Mario project, a project to make a dark and psychotic mario game. At least I saw those there.

Those were great! I'd love Nintendo to make a Mario game like that. Mario goes to a paralell universe and everything is dark and twisted.
