Hey guys, just wondering out of curiosity, what are your favourite TV themes?
I'l start things by saying mine would have to be Angel and Friends TV theme.
The Angel theme has such a good tune to it, its very catchy, whilst friends is very uplifting to listen to.
So, whats yours?

Also, someone was bound to say it eventually, but Cheers

24, X-Files, Pokémon (I wanna be the very best), Adventures of Pete and Pete (HEY SANDY) are all great, to name a few. There are countless others I have neglected to mention like the several terrifyingly catchy Disney themes present throughout my childhood and a slew of anime adventures I doubt would have a place among the shows collected in this thread.
I have four hours of work to kill, so I'm going to spend a little while thinking about this and make some additions later.

Wow, the majority of those were made by Joss Whedon (Buffy, angel, firefly just incase you didnt know).
I quite like the Doctor Who theme actually..

ah yes airwolf :D season one's version though, it became too "plinky-plonky" by season three...
my faves are definitely knight rider coz it's just a classic and sounds amazing on a tv with good bass! i like the new battlestar galactica's. the eerie orchestral music and lyrics followed by those pounding drums rock! and of course there's spongebob squarepants, simply for its stupidity :D

Our courage will pull us through,
You teach me and I'll teach you,

Come with me,

Well if you like it, then go buy some Alabama 3 who did it, namely Exile on Coldharbour Lane. Mmmm, going to listen to that country acid house music all night long.
Back on topic, I shall nominate the classic Doctor Who theme. Oh and Lost, can't get enough of that single thump when the title comes up.

I've always been curious about their music, now I know it's good. Cheers.
Even though I can't remember how it went, the Thundercats theme was great. Anyone got an idea where I can find it?
I like the Red Dwarf one because of its comedy value and the Farscape one was pretty cool with all the Aaaaaah aaaaahyaaaaaaah or something.

Captain Scarlet! Fantastic 60s semi-pop. All the old Gerry Anderson shows had a typically cheesy yet-brilliant score. Fireball XL-5 also had a brilliant main theme.
I wish i was a space man

I'd fly across the universe
In fireball XL-5...
Hehe, great tune.

Damn right, the Captain Scarlet theme is the jazz. As is the Stingray theme for that matter. They evoke such nostalgic memories.

Naruto - Wind
And the Paramount Comedy 1 ones, hahaha
Retro: Loads. Catchphrase, Challenge Anneka, Big Break, "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?", Beadle's About, Blockbusters, Blackadder, Going for Gold, Happy Days, I could go on for ages.
Current: Not many that particularly spring to mind, standouts are 24 and The Sopranos.
I have to say i cant really argue with any of these. Freakazoid is genius.his home base is the freaka-lair....
Cosby show was always good i thought.

I've just remembered another classic, the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Here's a little experiment to try, when you're with a group of people sing the first line and then fall silent. it is literally impossible for people to resist continuing with the next line. Before you know it you'll have a full blown sing-a-long.

For me, it has to be the mighty Smallville. Absolutely love the show and the theme tune aint bad at all. A little cheesy but good nevertheless.
Actually thinkin about it, Buffy did have quite a good themetune. It always put me in the mood to kick some vampire ass. I never thought I would say that...

I always thought "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" would fit (Nip/Tuck season three spoilers)Kimber/Christians failed wedding.
C'mon lines such as "Haven't you people ever heard of closing your goddam doors" for
the Julia/Christian kiss, "the groom's bride is a whore" is so Kimber bless her if I weren't so lazy I'd vid it.
I admit, the Scrubs theme is very fitting, and a nice relaxed song. Saw the video for it yesterday, I like the grainy B&W look parts of it, works well.

yea but u gotta love scrubs, every1 about it whoops but lol
theme tunes gd but the randomness just makes it stupidly funny
which is gewd if ur a weirdo
so i love it personally
I have the Power rangers theme tune as my ringtone.......its awesome.
I also like Pokemon, Red Dwarf, Men behaving badly, thin blue line, saved by the bell etc

Weirdly enough, i can only remember the 'college years' intro.

"AND ITS UP TO ME, HOW FAR I GO!"
*more crap*
"ITS MY TIME TO BREAK AWAY!"

Sunday Monday Happy Days!
Saved by the Bell, yeah I'm only remembering the college years. I can remember they sang that corny song when they graduated, about how they may all be going to different places but will remain friends forever.
Found the SBTB theme tune, it'll come flooding back to you: http://www.angelfire.com/film/jonnyspage2/Themes/Saved%20By%20The%20Bell/Saved%20By%20the%20Bell%20Intro.htm
Also the Ally McBeal theme tune. "I've been searchin' my soul tonight, I know there's so much more to life, Now I know I can shine a light, To find my way back home"
Zero Seven
13-03-2006, 01:10 AM
"You cannot ignore....Sam is the hero next doooooooooor!!!"
and yeah Red Dwarf theme is great but thats because im obessed with the show.

All that theme tunes do for me is make the programme not start quick enough. So (related to Ashley's thread) when watching stuff on DVD the search button is employed and when I'm watching stuff on regular TV I channel skip for a bit.
oooh jayce and the wheeled warriors. Watched it again last year, it wasn't as good as i remember. Theme is a classic though.
i think rocks was the best naruto theme.
although all listed here are good Thundercats is still the best.

Postman Pat has quite a good theme tune in my opinion....might be for the little kiddies but still manages to stick in my head for a long while. Lovely. :D
Not so much a theme, but i did like the opening of ReBoot. I suppose it was similar to farscape.
Now and again is good.
And if I had to pick between Sam and Pat..... Sam takes it.
