View Full Version : WWE Day of Reckoning 2
Finally... this game is coming out - This Friday.
I've just finished playing through the original career mode, and I was plesantly surprised on just how good it was. Sure, it won't have voice overs, but it's the gameplay that counts and thats where DoR scored high in my books.

i am waiting for the game to come via play.com, i didnt like the first day of reckoning as much as wrestlemania 19 as the create a entrance took a step back and i liked the revenge mode........though proberly 80%+ hated it. This years roster is more up to date with stone cold returning to a nintendo wrestling game and the fighting mechanics is improved by the new submission system as well as other changes

Finaly THQ have decided to settle down with a release date and have stuck to it... untill today Game and gameplay have had this game down for sept 30th
I have DoR so I'm not really sure if I want to spend more money on a the same game (according to NGC anyway). I did enjoy DoR though.
I haven't bought a game for ages so it is pretty tempting. :hmm:

Man, this game is AMAZING. The graphics are the best I've seen from any other console, this stuff truly rivals next gen consoles. Gameplay has remained the same, which is great news. Everything has been improved or been given an extra dimention.
If you loved the original, this will blow you away.

Truly an amazing game. The best any Nintendo console has seen.
Got the game on friday and the jolly chap in GAME gave me the Stacy poster even though I didnt preordered it so i was a very happy chappy and now theres a very sexy lady hanging on my wall :p.
I beat the storymode in DOR 2 last night and I enjoyed every minute of it. The graphics are awesome, gameplay is untouched for current gen wwe games (still no patch on no mercy though). Totally loving it :).

yes, The Create A Wrestler loading times are the worst part for when you change a part, thats when the loading montage occurs.
Can someone please explain to me about this No Mercy 'myth' which makes it unbeatable? As far as I'm concerned, No Mercy can't even touch this.

Back in N64 days No Mercy was god a true classic, easily the best werstling game at the time.
I gues its like this: no game will ever replace Goldeneye even thought there are better FPS out now.
Hope that makes sense.

well no not really i had no mercy, didnt really like it that much compared to smackdown on the playstation. dont get me wrong it was a good game with the way the control system worked but i found no mercy very slow and the wrestlers looked all chunky and strange... where as smackdown was very fast and looked good and was more what i was after...
yes goldeneye still hasnt been beaten but i think no mercy has many times.

I agree, I couldnt stand playing Tag Team matches on No Mercy, waaaay too much slow down. It couldnt support 4 wrestlers on screen at one time very well. :heh:

I edited stone cold steve austin's entrance by swapping his usual music with the shattered glass version by Disturbed, if you want to have a look for yourself, download it off http://rapidshare.de/files/5670245/steve_austin_edit.wmv.html and click free........unless you want to choose the other option (you may notice.........thats if you watch it, the picture isnt centered......well thats because i didnt center it when i was using the adobe premiere program, i may do another version of it.......of course with a centered pictured

In my opinion a wrestling shouldn't be fast. I guess thats why I like No Mercy. I guess some people agree with me which is why Smackdown 2006 plays slower that Sd Vs Raw.
Well each to their own opinion.
Oh and I admit the slowdown in No Mercy was terrable with 4 wrestlers in a match.
Don't get me wrong, I loved No Mercy back in the day, but this game shits all over it if you were to play both games TODAY.
Also, Goldeneye is poor (to but it lightly to the hardcore's still out there) to new FPS's out there. Halo is loads better than Goldeneye, but through no fault of its own. Technology has improved dramatically so it's pointless comparing really.

goldeneye stil rocks, played multiplayer the other day with some mates, absolutely rocks still to this day.

It seems theres not much love for No Mercy on this board.
And Day of Reckoning just got pushed a week I'd be playing it rght now if it wernt delayed.
Atleast its still coming out before the original Australian relese of 31.10.05.
