Thanks to the BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4665758.stm)

So yeah, Bush does some good. Im glad that the world is realising that the oil is running out and making way to finding alternative methods. Im pretty sure he's only doing it for political reasons, but still, a good move forward.

Looks like Bush is scared the middle east doesn't like him and scared they might cut off his oil.

Bah! That's just a populist load of wish wash. I will eat first my, then his head if he wrote that himself. And what's with all this persecution of Iran over alleged nukes? Even if Iran was to build a warhead, who the hell to they have the capability to get it to? Wadda they gonna do? Dig a secret underground railway all the way into the centre of Jeruselam and wheel it there? Those damn sneaky Iranians...

Bah this is just bullshit. Modern day Hitler is starting to think about what he's done and his advisors wrote him some speech to sound changed.

I doubt Bush is capable of even dressing himself let alone do any good in the world.

Hahahahaha!!! You know what's hilarious?!....Is that that Baywatch bird in Big Brother got offended about that gay guy (how the fuck can't I remember his name?) calling Bush stupid!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Anyway; this is just to try and shut up the rest of the world, even though the UK is one of the only VERY FEW countries on track with anti-pollution.

Ok something isnt right here...

Bush owns quite a slice of the oil industry, and thanks to his status, can conquer countries to get a bigger slice. So he gets money from his job, and from oil.

So why does he want to end the oil addiction? That means he would make less money. So he is either going to sell what he owns of the oil industry and screw the dude who buys it over, or he's gonna end major companies that he dont have a cut in and leave the companies he does in the oil war.

Something smells like bullshit, and its coming from the west yet again.

I see Bush as a modern day Hitler. Its an extremist view yes but not unjustified. Hitler tried to wipe out jews and blamed them for the worlds problems. Bush is doing the same to Muslims albeit in a more PR friendly way.

If you look close enough on google earth you can them building the new concentration camps in the Utah desert....

Bush is an idiot, he's greedy. He's not doing it to wipe out Islam, just to line his pockets more. That, or he could be doing it for the good of the people in these opressed countries....yeah...

Bloody hell, I point out the similarity of racial hatred and people expect me to pull out the text books and write an essay. The point is both were blaming someone else and acting upon that to hide inadequacies. I wasnt saying they were exactly the same was I? And yes Bush is dumb but is everybody behind him?

MunKy

It wasnt an exact comparison. It would be impossible for anyone to get into power like Hitler did nowadays. But you have to concede the similarities. Invading country after country, Iran or North Korea next, place your bets! And like I said the racial hatred, the right wing tendecies. True Bush isnt as bad but do you think that would be the same if American media didnt have free speech?

Pit-Jr

Theyre both responsible for alot of unnecessary death. But the fact of the matter is Bush is a pawn of big business lobbyists. He didnt get his position as leader of the free world by 'caring' for oppressed people.

It's still possible for a Hitler analogue to assume power in the present day. Don't forget the Nazis were actually voted in. And diabolical tyrants still rule in many countries, Zimbabwe for example.
Secondly, where is this racial hatred thing coming from? I've never heard anything about Bush conducting ethnic cleansing.
The invading country after country thing. Practically every other western power has conducted its share of invasions. The colonial times were rife with them.
I still fail to see how Bush is at all like Hitler.

See that and tell me he wasnt lying to the magnitude of Hitler. Maybe not directly but he has anti muslim tendencies. This vid is an hour long so get a beer and sit back. I cant be arsed to argue anymore, have enough of that at home. Peace people.

The fact he has admitted the probelm is a very big step forward, hopefully the US will now sign up to kyoto :D

mike-zim

sign up to kyoto i think not. all he has said really is that they will spend more money researching better energies. but it is true that recognising there is a problem is the first step.

He said the US was too reliant on oil, often from "unstable" countries, and had to find alternatives.

I think what is considered as an alternative is to claim that oil-rich countries have atomic bombs and the USA have to take them over therefore and then it's a "stable" oil resource :D
And it's not true that we'll only have Oil for a few year, actually we'll have cheap Oil for about 100 years. When 50% of an Oil field is depleted the extraction costs become too high so the field is abandoned and not considered a resource anymore. But I would be glad if some nature-friendly alternative to Oil was found.

Don't get too excited, he was lying anyway. Oh, I mean not a lying, he just "Didn't mean it literally"

"One day after President Bush vowed to reduce America's dependence on Middle East oil by cutting imports from there 75 percent by 2025, his energy secretary and national economic adviser said Wednesday that the president didn't mean it literally."

The fact that Bush is only (truthfully or not) admitting the problem now, does not bode well. Bush has only just acknowledged the problem and Kyoto is hardly a sure-fire way of ending pollution, it's only an agreement for God's sake. It's like setting targets to do in school; "I will spend more time on coursework in future" no one ever follows those through.

To hell with Mars, let's really go to town on it, find a beatiful red and purple world full of hot tall blue alien chicks, and slowly poison that planet with our obnoxious farting. Go on. You know you want to...

Bush doesn't care about the enviroment, he simply doesn't like US dependancy on oil from the middle east.
Why? Because only a week ago Iran threatened to raise the oil price if the US or Europe would dare impose sanctions upon the country.
