News: DS Demos Will Be Downloaded Via Revolution!

Posted by Tphi - Sep 18th 2005 22:06

Is there nothing Nintendo's wonderous next-gen console can't do? Today we found out another piece of the Revolution puzzle...

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has confirmed that the upcoming Revolution console will have the ability to download demos for the Nintendo DS... and then transfer them wirelessly onto your handheld!

More details are expected in October, when Iwata has promised the lid will be blown off the mysterious Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, ahead of such launches as Mario Kart DS, Tony Hawks American Sk8land and Animal Crossing: Wild World - all of which support the online service.

We'll bring you more on this as it breaks.

Well we had suspected it, and it was pretty obvious, but now it's fact. So we won't need to walk into GAME and randomly pull out our DS afterall.

I didn't know anything about this, so naturally it wasn't obvious to me.

I think this is great news, though. Now I'll be able to sample games before I buy.

I wonder if Sony'll decide to do the same...

Nahh, sony can't afford to copy Nintendo can they? I mean Nintendo are so pathetic...

(NOT)

Although Sony tend to copy alot, even though they consider Nintendo inferior...

That's a great idea but I kind of expected it since it's a reasonable decision.

It could also help software sales a lot because certain things like Wario Ware (and mainly other new genres) need to be tried before you know if you like it or not.

I like nintendo

that's good, but what do you mean we all walk into GAME and pull out our DS's randomly??? (sorry for my inferior [< gasp the word sony considers ninty!] brainpower :p)

It does seem that Revolution can do anything, and incredibly easily. Using that controller D-pad we will probably be downloading onto DS with a few clicks. Very nice.
