Just gave Raid a first go, bloody awesome. Nobody from here was on so I had to make do with playing with a random but we did well and finished the first stage... does your ammo and herb counts carry over from one stage to the next? Cause when we started the next stage we both seemed to run low on ammo pretty fast, I didn't take note how much I started with... needless to say we didn't fair to well on the 2nd stage but he was the one to die so I can at least say it wasn't my fault haha.

welsh_gamer and lostmario if/when either of ye are looking to play Raid without the other let me know and we can use BO or MW3 for chat like ye did with Mercenaries 3D

Shame the game doesn't have voice chat built in... is the mic used for anything other than blowing at things?

Just realised the stage I played online earlier with a Random wasn't stage 1 it was stage 5, haha and then we failed on stage 6, just played stages 1 and 2 solo up to level 4 now.

Also I got a "streetpass" in the game from the guy I played online with... can't remember what it gave me though... something under "missions" I think... though his Mii isn't in my plaza like what happens with playing MK7 online

I did find an ememy with his name though like Red said when I played solo, haha

What weapons are you using?

I managed to go up from level 4 to 8 in those 5 stages we did but you stayed at 16... damn you must need a shit ton of points to level up

And yep, the levelling up process is starting to slow down quite a bit for me now. I wonder how many levels there are? :blank: If it goes up to Lv.100, it's gonna take ages!

By the way, a heads up for anyone that is tempted to spend Play Coins in the shop... don't bother.
I spent 10 on a gun earlier today, only to unlock a far superior version of it a few games later just via completing a stage. :indeed:
Maybe there will be some better things to spend Play Coins on at some point (the shop appears to randomly offer different stuff) but I'm gonna think twice before using any more.

And yeah I noticed if you enter the shop, exit and re-enter the gun choices change. Kinda annoying as I found out when I was thinking of buying a shotgun, wanted to compare it's stats to the one I have so left the shop to check my weapons, the one in the shop was indeed better than what I had so went back to buy it only to find it was now gone :heh:

Depends on how long you want to play I guess and how fast you are. The stages can be relatively short, think I finished a few with Redshell last night in just over 3 mins... though he was using a handgun that seemed to have the power of a high powered magnum :heh:

How long does an online game approx take?Depends on the stage and your approach. (There's no time limit in this game like there is on mercenaries.) You can speed through the early stages in a couple of minutes, but the latter stages feature larger areas and more difficult enemies, so obviously take longer to complete.

Question do the names of people you played with only appear the once or do they always stay there?Once you've killed them, the mission starts to drop off the list and will eventually disappear. The first few names that I got aren't on my mission list any more.

I wonder what happens when you connect to the same player again (after having killed their zombie form), perhaps they come back as an even stronger monster?

BTW, have you found/killed zombie RedShell yet? If not, I wonder if we did co-op play on the stage that I'm in, if I could kill myself!? :laughing:

Have you unlocked any other characters yet?A couple yeah. There are still quite a few ??? on the character list though, I thought they would all get unlocked after completing the campaign, but it looks like they need to be obtained within Raid Mode itself.

Damage +8%
Firing Rate +15%
Daze +40%
Stopping Power +100%

The firepower rating is 714. :awesome:

I had a go on RAID earlier round mid day, played with a random still not seen RedShell zombie/enemy yet (do the "things" in this game have names, I can't call them Zombies cause they bloody aren't... and too lazy to check the booklet :heh:... only enemy name I know is the Hunter for obvious reasons)

Played stage 6 solo and did stage 7 with a random online, stage 7 is a good one for two player it was awesome :D

And I somehow always get caught out by that exploding Ooze, even though I know where he is, the bastard gets me every time. :laughing:

The weapon I used on Stage 6 against the boss was a Lv. 23 magnum, it's got a scary amount of power to it! :awesome:

I have played with people around and well above the level I'm at, one in particular was really good. In fact, I think it was killing their mutated form that unlocked that magnum for me. ;)

Not sure about unlocking stages that you haven't reached yet, next time we play I can host and choose a later stage though if you like.

I'll probably be online again at 10pm if anyone's gonna be about.
Are you able to join games directly from the 3DS Friend List, like with MK7? I've seen a lot of people on my list playing the game now, but the join button has always been greyed out. :hmm:

Some good games there Red, god your guns are so way over powered, haha, By the time I even get an aim on an Ooze (yay I know it's name, haha) you have it dead.

And damn when we took out the boss on stage 8, like one hit from your magnum and it ran before I even remembered to take mine out.

And damn her voice lines in that part seemed different and creepier than in the actual story game :heh:

It's amazing how that section of the game still manages to be creepy even in co-op play.

I'm faffing on with this a bit more now and was wondering what certain items do. ::shrug:

The items such as body armour and ammo capacity, do you just buy them and use them on your character? Once you do that are they permanent?

They are permenent and they are for your "file" not your character, so if you change character you'll have all the same weapons and upgrades you got with the previous character. Changing character just changes how proficent you are with certain weapons. For example Parker will reload Handguns and Shotguns faster than other weapons, where as if you use a machine gun as your main weapon I think Chris has faster reload speeds with that. It tells you these on the character select screen.

As you move up in teh stages and learn them a bit better you'll see some weapons/characters will be more suited to some stages than others

Offline now... finally got an S rank on Stage 9, so now have all stages 1 - 13 S ranked :D
Had an A on stage 9 which was annoying me, tried solo and got an A again... damned fish and Sea Creepers kept surprising me... then went online and tried with a random... I did most of the work and got an S rank :D

The award got me an amazing weapon too, a rifle called Muramasa. It's got the highest firepower of any weapon that I've collected so far, 15108 (upgraded)! :eek: Even higher than my best magnum. :awesome:

Had some awesome games with S.C.G there... funny moment on Stage 13, at the start going down the side of the ship taking on some hunters, forgetting I'm standing next to a petrol barrel and Sam goes an blows it up...sent me flying, haha. :D

Then we did Stages 14 and 15, my first time on those stages, had no idea where to go or what to expect. Hell at the start of episode 14 I took us down some dead ends, haha.

Really wish Nintendo had thought to make a head set with the 3DS, or if capcom had made use of the mic online in game. this game needs voice chat

I'm thinking did you end the stage 21 early? It objective said to get to the Deck but there was a "finish symbol" in the round room.... (though I did spot one near the start too?) Maybe I only get trench after finishing stage 21 properly?

You should have trench difficulty now, but I think it's another one of those go into to missions and press A moments again. ;)

Let me fill you in on the bonus stage, it gives you access to the entire Zenobia and has many different enemy types/levels, and various finish symbols (including a 'true' one, that's for a mission). Things get very tough on that stage, in fact I was going to lead us back to the start finish symbol instead of doing the casino part just to be safe. But yeah, if we'd have continued it probably wouldn't have ended well. :heh: That's why I ended the stage after that point.
It's best to build up your Lv/weapons before fully attempting that stage really.

Anyway, hopefully play again tomorrow.

I was very much confused, haha, then I figured there were some optional "ending points" and realised, damn this could be a hrad one so, haha.

Shame you don't have/play Black Ops or MW3 and have a Wii headset, we could have had voice chat over that, that's what Lost and Welsh do.... and me soon if I can get a game with either of them... shame this is only 2 player :heh:

Solo'd the first 3 stages

Stages 1 and 2 weren't so bad. Machine Gun and Magnum were very handy, especially on stage 2. Stage 3 though... damn that was harder tenser and scarier. Not know anymore where they are and where they'll spawn from... which is usually behind you :heh:

I don't think there's a single "safe room" left, haha. I still finished it in first go, with an S ranking and 92% accuracy but damn I'd rather not try solo anymore on Trench thanks :heh:

If anyone is up for some Raid Mode now or later today then let me know as I want to see how I hold up in a co-op game using my new Circle Pad Pro as I'm really starting to get used to it now after obtaining several S ranks while soloing. :)

I'm on Stage 18 but still need to get S ranks on stage 9 and 15 on Chasm difficulty.

I wasn't planning to play any more Raid Mode last night, after joining Mokong for a few games, but the thought of only being 2 stages away from finishing trench difficulty and unlocking abyss was just too annoying, so I couldn't resist having another go. :heh:

Well, I managed to beat trench Stage 19 on my own in the end! :yay: Was really satisfying too, as the last few moments (against high speed Scagdeads) were seriously tough. :shakehead
Got a proper adrenaline rush from it. :grin:

Then I did the final stage and that was that, trench difficulty complete, with all S-Ranks. :awesome: Which unlocked Abyss difficulty, a cyan username and Jessica's smutty outfit. ;)

Was going to call it a night, but then I just had to try out Abyss difficulty too... (yep, didn't get much sleep in the end :laughing:) Wow! Lv. 40+ weapons that can 1-hit kill enemies on chasm difficultly, now do practically no damage at all! :o Not only that, but... :woops: :woops: :woops:
Actually, I won't say that. Don't want to ruin the surprise. :hehe:

Let's just say that I managed to get as far as stage 6, but that it's clearly going to be co-op only from that point onwards. :eek:

Shame you don't have/play Black Ops or MW3 and have a Wii headset, we could have had voice chat over that, that's what Lost and Welsh do.... and me soon if I can get a game with either of them... shame this is only 2 player :heh:That would indeed be cool to be able to communicate, but it must also take some of the edge off the experience too.
Not being able to plan strategy and give out warnings etc... makes it more intense I reckon. :D
And it turns out that there is a form of communication in Raid Mode, which I only just discovered! (Well, not really communication, but still pretty cool.) If you hold up on the D-Pad and press any of the 4 face buttons, your character will issue a vocal command.

The commands are:

Up on D-pad + Y = Thanks
Up on D-pad + X = Go
Up on D-pad + B = Stop
Up on D-pad + A = Come here

And each character puts their own unique spin on those phrases, Keith's thanks message is "You da Man!" :laughing:

Lol... don't worry about it, that's happened to me once before when playing with Mokong I believe, I'm kind of getting used to it :D my accuracy can be attributed to two things...

1.) practice 2.) Circle Pad Pro... I think it has a lot to do with the latter as I only got it today and my accuracy has improved by a great deal already which is why I now definitely endorse it for its function/ergonomics but certainly not for its ugly appearance. :indeed:

Also the commands are pretty fun, I quite enjoy Jessica's in particular, anyway... good games, I enjoyed them! :) all of this will help me in writing the review, if I can only tear myself away from the game... >>

Although had an awesome moment with "her" just a few mins ago (not like that, you dirty mind you) Was playing online with lostmario and it was his first time on that stage (Chasm) I just got a new magnum and wanted to try it out... how good was it? It frakking killed "her" in ONE FRAKKING HIT, haha, couldn't believe it. :D

(If your wondering Magnum firepower = 9506 :awesome:)

Also me and Lost had our Wii's on at the same time and used a private lobby in Black Ops so that we could use the Wii headsets to talk while we played Raid. That was bloody awesome. Actually being able to tell Lost to watch his back or if he was going the wrong way and such. Not to mention just being able to converse in general :D

Helped Lost get up to stage 16 I think it was? The last stage he had unlocked so he needs to go finish single player to get the rest of them.

Oh and one of the best parts was seeing "myself" in the game and yelling to Lost, "Don;t touch him I'm killing myself" haha :laughing:

Awesome games dude.

No I got trench open and had a few A ranks left.... oh did you go into the "Missions" thing and press A to confirm your completion of Chasm? (Don't see why they didn't just make it open automatically :heh:)

Stage 21 is just a giant "fuck off" stage, haha. The whole Zenobia is open and it appears there's no ammo or herb refills and enemies get harder with each room you clear. There is a proper goal if you can get to the deck but there's a few "earlier" ones to allow you to exit the game earlier if you want.

Stage 21 is not required to unlock Trench

I'm up to Stage 18 on Abyss now, got through 15-17 in co-op with a random.
Attempted Stage 18 solo after that, but it plays quite a nasty trick on you right near the end. :D So yeah, I didn't make it. :heh:

I must say, it seems very quiet in this thread... :blank: Are people just not that into Raid Mode, or still too engrossed with the campaign? ::shrug:

I unlocked an amazing weapon customisation yesterday...

A Lv 4 charge shot. When combined with my Pale Rider magnum, well... let's just say the results are pretty spectacular. The downside is, it takes like 10 seconds to fire a single shot. :laughing:: peace:

The only stage that I still need to finish/S-Rank is 21, the bonus stage. But it seems that finding a decent random team mate for it is going to be impossible. :blank:
I've tried both recruiting and joining games for it, but so far have had no luck.

Noticed a weird and annoying trend too, where people that are blatantly Lv 50 (purple name is the give away) re-set their level to 1, and then go on the bonus stage and hit the very first finish symbol right at the start of the stage! :rolleyes:
This has happened loads of times now, so annoying. :mad:
It's like no one wants to play through that stage properly, or they're just using it as a way to get quick "StreetPasses". ::shrug:

So yeah, the sooner we get more N-E peeps up to Lv 50, the better.

I completed the main game, only just started raid mode, which is akin to mercenaries. So me likey. I will get involved when I can during evening, ill be keeping an eye on this thread and on who's playing what via my orange light on the 3DS. Im only level 11 thus far. Not sure even how to unlock the trench missions?

I'm currently stuck on Stage 13 'flood' on Trench Mode so that sounds good to me. :)

Though if anyone wants to play tonight then just say the word, after not playing for a few days I've gotten back into the game big time as I've levelled up nearly 10 levels today currently lvl thirty... something.

I keep tearing myself away from it then writing a bit more of the review... and then, 'just one more go' on Raid Mode. :laughing:

It chucks absolutely everything at you, including multiple Scagdeads, Infected Rachels and a giant/super tough version of the final boss!! :o :o
Not only that, but you're confined to the circle area on the deck! There's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. :heh:Absolutely epic! :bowdown:
Once you kill everything, the true finish symbol appears, along with a shitload of illegal custom parts and high Lv weapon cases. :santa:

Great fun.
I may have said this before, but I'd seriously have purchased Revelations solely for Raid Mode, it's just so damn good. :)

Anyway, even though I've finished it now, I'll still be up for helping people with their games.
And I definitely want to play through Stage 21 a few more times. ;)

Me and welsh_gamer had some games eariler this afternoon (using Wii headsets and a private lobby in Modern Warfare 3 to have voice chat) and he helped me finish my remaining Trench stages.... got them all S rank too : peace:

In stage 18 I think it was I also found and killed RedShell and on Stage 20 lostmario appeared TWICE...lol, once for me and once for Welsh.

I also learned a few new things about the game that I didn't know before.

For example I learned on Stage 15 there are too ways to get to the deck... I ALWAYS went via the upstairs, through the dinning room and bedroom areas etc.

With Welsh we went downstairs, into the casino, got a key and opened the way to the Promenade and went that way.... I think it was faster too, haha, never knew that was possible. (Also Welsh never knew the upstairs route was possible when I told him)

Then later Welsh was mentioning something about the swimming pool... I NEVER saw a swimming pool in my entire play of the story mode and had no idea what he was on about.

Later when we finished up Trench we tried Stage 21.
1st try, got to the casino.... Welsh died :heh: Was funny though... We took out like 3 Skagdead's and thought "phew, glad that's done". Then all of a sudden I hear Welsh scream "WHAT THE FUCK" down the headset.. I turn around to see another Skegdead appeared behind us and one hit killed Welsh :heh:

We gave it a 2nd go, got past the casino into the big round room... still loads of ammo left then got confused... the doors were locked and we had no keys... wtf?

We looked around and went up to a 3rd floor and found another door that lead a bit further up. We thought maybe it lead to the observatory.... opened the door and it was the SWIMMING POOL. Haha. I found the one room I somehow didn't find in teh story game (must not have been anything important there I guess then?) We failed in there then after Welsh got turned around under the water and attacked by a Sea Creeper :heh:

Had fun though.... didn't try starting Abyss yet though.... I'm scared :heh:

Congrats Redshell! After playing like a complete noob with Mokong on Stage 21 yesterday afternoon, I had a go on Solo last night and made it to the deck. I was pretty suprised with what awaited me there too.

Made it to the third of fourth wave I think, where those creatures that charge towards you were the enemy. Only had 1 left to kill but I had no ammo or health left :o so of couse I died.

Now go buy Mercenaries 3D. It's pretty cheap at Argos (http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9370315/Trail/searchtext%3ERESIDENT+EVIL.htm) too :wink:

I really enjoy Raid mode, but despite Mercenaries having less content and no leveling up system I think it's the better spin off mode. Gameplay is more frantic, Co-Op play is better as you can heal and rescue others and when you play with strangers it doesn't become a race to see who enters a room and kills all the enemies first, plus the game keeps a record of your actual scores for each stage, not just the grades, so there's more of an initiative to return. Also, I prefer the slutty costume on Mercenaries :love:

What do others who have played both think?

Oh yeah I remember that room, you press a button to do something and your told to come back later but I forgot and progressed the story too far. Think it's related to the chapter 10 boss, but I'm just guessing on that. It was called the Solaris "something" room if I remember right.

Good game on 21 earlier, welsh_gamer. :bowdown:
That was a really weird glitch on the first attempt though, when the door in the promenade couldn't be opened and we had to restart. :wtf:

Was a pretty good run in the end though, (S-Rank :awesome:) and we completely dominated the final boss. :laughing:

I really hate those bloody crab/weird shell creatures though, especially the fast mini versions! :shakehead
And I can't believe how many times I got hit by those fat Oozes! :heh: They're such rubbish enemies, but I always seem to get caught by their death explosion. :D

Anyway, had a great time. Let me know if you ever want to attempt it again, or another stage.

I had some good games with lostmario earlier, helping him with some Trench stages. Things went well till the last stage we did... can't remember the number but it's the one on the Semerimis where yu have to get to the casino.

We got all the way to the casino and were doing pretty well, no really issues. Took out the first two Skegdeads easy enough. Then another two appear we were taking them down. Bunched them in a corner I was shotting one, Lost the other. I chuck a pulse gernade, go in to melee mine and I thought I killed it with a fully charged melee... reloaded without moving backwards.... then I realise the Skegdead and not dead, I'm too close and it grabs me for a 1 hit kill :heh:

SO SORRY about that Lost :(

Oh yeah, actually forgot to mention yesterday when I played with welsh_gamer we had a funny moment in a lift. Can't remember the stage, but welsh goes into lift first and to the back of it, I go in a try to press the button. Welsh runs forward at the same time and pushes me out of the way to push the button then I see the doors close and I'm outside the lift :heh:

He bloody pushed me OUT of the lift. I had to wait ages it seemed for him to go all the way down and then for the lift to come back up to me :heh:

Somehow I had accumulated 5 'Defeat Baby Draghignazzo' raid missions and I cleared them all at the same time by defeating five of them. Each mission was worth 30,000 BP. Felt good but surely getting that many of the same mission isn't suppose to happen, right?Yeah, I've had that happen on my game quite a lot too, with various missions. Obviously a glitch of some sort, but it works in our favour anyway, so it's all good. :hehe:

Ah I see.. There's one mission I got telling me to defeat 10 of those crawling beasts on stage 2, despite the fact that under the description it had a counter to 20. Revelaitons and now this, what's going on Capcom? =P

Also, one of the weapon customisations has its effect % muddled up. Can't remember which now, but there's definitely one where Lv 4 has a higher effect value than the Lv 5 version. :heh:

Anyway, I thought I'd done my final Raid Mode award yesterday (complete 200 missions) but it turns out I haven't! :o
Doing so unlocked another one!...

Complete 500 Missions! :o
And the reward for it is something to do with a random weapon set +1. ??? :wtf:It's going to take quite a while to get that. Perhaps that's why people are doing that quick exit on Stage 21, just to get loads of wanted missions.

Can't think why Capcom would include unlockable weapons/custom parts that are so embedded in the game though :hmm: ... unless they're planning DLC for it at some point.

I feel like I've missed the Raid Mode community thing... I've only played it a couple of times so not very far in it (and I've not completed the main game yet) but I'd like to play at some point soon... anyone able to help?

I'm also a beginner, Hamish.

Just past chapter 5, and am at level 7 when it comes to raid mode.
Would love to do some shootin' and droolin' with ya!

Dude what happened there? Your internet bug out?

Was going grand (more or less), couldn't believe we made it to the deck... also was surprised to learn there are ammo and herb refills on stage 21... just far into it :heh:

We made it as far as a bunch of hunters and Lancelots (what I call em) was going ok, got rid of all the hunters then it told me you left :cry:

gotta say when we got to the bunch of crab things followed by a horde of "you know who" I thought we were gonna die there... couldn't believe it when we killed all those.

Shame about the disconnect oh and sorry for dying on the first try (we call that the warm up run :wink:)

Must try again soon... won't be around the weekend though, heading to my sisters tomorrow evening for the weekend... though might try use her internet tomorrow night if I find myself not doing anything :D

I must try to get a few more Abyss stages done, only done teh first 2 so far. But I think at level 41 I did fairly well on that Stage 21 tonight :D

Can't believe I've barely touched raid mode. Had a dabble in single player but not played it once online, must do though as I love it - too many games! Is RAID pretty hard then? People with mercenaries how do you think it compares?

I actually traded mercanairies in today, loved the game, but I thought with this it was never really going to get play time and I got a decent amount for it.

Loved both them Resi Titles, Raid mode gets progressively easier as you go and beef up your weapons, then you start the next difficulty and it kicks your ass. However when you finish the 3rd one your weapons are good enough that it becomes easy, I know you can choose a lower weapon but really who's going to?
I actually think Mercenaries has more replay value as you are always trying to better your scores and no matter what gun you equip yourself with, that Dr Salvador is terrifying :shakehead
