There's just 14 days to go until Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is released on the Wii. It's time to get the best clan on the Wii organised and ready to roll! We owned everyone on Black Ops, now it's time we took the fight into the Modern Warfare universe...

As most people on the forum already know, we game almost every night of the week, starting around 7pm and finished up to 10pm. Our big night is Friday night, and Friday Night Gaming - or FNG is where we have our best turn outs.

Most of us use the Wii Headbanger Headset, this comes in black 'Black Ops', white 'Wii' and black 'Modern Warfare 3' designs - if you're new to the world of COD on Wii, make sure you get your headset to get the most out of the experience!

We all use our Forum names with [N-E] in front of them and we are registered on game battles. We are organised into teams based on how regularly we play and how long we've been part of N-Europe online meet ups.

If people want to sign up, I'll add your name, and when the game comes out I will add people's friends codes to this initial post so new additions to the clan can easily find other active members

I know Kav isn't happy with the lag shooting but I love this game.

The new maps & guns are fantastic.

The first hour tonight was very frustrating as we couldnt find a game but about an hour in, no problems finding games at all, complete opposite to how Black Ops was first day.

The host lag appears to have been fixed, I was host for 20+ games tonight and apart from one game it was fine, didn't affect my game at all.

I just don't agree guys. The game just isn't fun, even when I'm doing really well, it's just no fun at all... the lag shooting is completely ruining it for me. Black Ops is by far the better of the two games.

In fact, I'd go as far to say that GoldenEye is as enjoyable as this, at least on that there's no lag shooting.

To be fair... I haven't played it enough yet. Kav seems to have put most time in so is best placed to say. But need to give it time, don't forget lost sold his black ops after thinking the same in first few weeks .

Whereas I know Ben and the others are right and that I should give it a few weeks and maybe until a first patch, I'm annoyed that I have to give it that time more than anything. It's should be ready to go out of the box and not need anything doing to it really.

As the others say, they're having lots of fun with it. At the moment I'm not, with lag shooting being quite prevalent in the game, the game doesn't reward accuracy, it's more of a spray and pray game than Black Ops and that's my issue.
I don't enjoy the spray and pray nature of lag shooting. I like being meticulous in my play, I like things to be precise but if there's lag shooting, it's not going to be like that.

There's nothing worse than aiming down the sights of your gun, smack bang on the enemy, letting fly a few sure kill shots only for none of them to register as hit markers... it's infuriating.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that you can't do well, I've had myself quite a number of brilliant games on it, but I've not really enjoyed a single one of them. They've just not felt satisfying.

What do you mean, there goes your money? If they haven't shipped it or it's not arrived, tell the company you placed the order with. They don't just take your money. Plus, most compnies you pre-order with don't charge your card until the game is shipped.

Hosting with americans playing is a waste of time for the host, I couldn't shoot anything.

Last night playing as host was fine but the last 3 hours have been pointless.

Fingers crossed we get a patch in the next week.

whilst at my mates house on friday we played ps3 mw3 and on there the scar l and th ump45 silenced are really good guns and wilst using them my k/d on there at the end of my games was at least 1.50 XD (which was good for my first time ps3 codding :) ) so try them out to see if they're any good :)

Yeah Zechs is right you might aswell register it for repair anyway. Nintendo will pay for your postage costs and if they do charge ya if you can't pay/don't want to they'll send it back to you as is at no cost still.

Though whatever the cost of repair will likely be less than a new Wii anyway (unless you've messed with the Homebrew Channel like I did....*bad Mokong*)

Not great, good for some, crap for the rest.

I've played 87 games so far, hosted 99% of them, if you are playing an american or someone with a bad connection, its equal to hosting a game on nuketown.

If my monopoly on hosting continues, I can't see me playing it much more, its ruining it for me. I can just about handle the lag shooting but hosting every single game is ridiculous.

I've no idea what this means yet but on the main screen it shows what NAT type you have. Will look into some more when I have time but it MAY work for you too.

Went through my BO control settings last night to make sure I have the same setup and forgot my bounding box was a size 3 square - for those that have it already, has anyone seen any differences in their control feel when they ported their setup over?

This is something I checked over the weekend, its currently open, it will be set to strict before I go on tonight, if it makes me host then I'll turn on my 360 and download demos all night, see if it thinks I'm a good host then.

It would be interesting if we all did a speed test, but we need to say what upload speeds is also as I think this has a lot to do with who it picks and how quickly it sends back your location details.

As we all know, I have a new account. Dunno whether to use it a lot though as I don't want another corruption. Oh, here is my letter of complaint to Activision and their 'hilarious' reply.

My letter:

I purchased Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 for the Wii last Friday (11/11/11). I was extremely excited to play this game as I already own Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Reflex and Call of Duty: Black Ops.

I began playing COD:MW3 and had put in over 18 hours into the online multiplayer. I was level 65 and had a 3.53K/D ratio. Then my Wii froze - as has happened before when playing COD games.

I reset the system and now my game save is corrupted. I had to delete it. This has wiped not only my online progress but also my progress in the single player and Spec Ops missions. Basically, I have to completely start over.

To have a game ending and save corrupting bug in such a large and hotly anticipated title is frankly unacceptable. After paying £37 for a game I expect more. I realise that every title will have small bugs or glitches, but to lose over 18 hours of gameplay and a level 65 account is pretty depressing.

I sincerely hope this will be fixed quickly, as I do not want to start playing again just to lose all my data a second time.

Just wondering what the etiquette is for joing your game if I'm popping online and see you there?

Last night, I tried joining your game and the server was full and I thought of maybe sending an invite to one of you to effectively let you know I was there but then if any of you joined me, the rest would have to follow, probably making me host :( (I've not got the fastest connection tbh).

Is is a case of maybe sending one, having you guys ignore the invite and the next time you're starting a new one, send me an invite instead?

With you guys all on 60 odd levels, I'm guessing I'd end up against similar level opponents so levelling up on my own wasn't too bad last night playing against mainly under 20 level guys. Although, if I start a game, get in all the level 20s and then you guys join.... :)

Whenever you come online and see some of us online, send an invite.

That will let us know you are online and if we have a spot free at the end of the game, we'll pull back to the lobby and invite you. If full, we'll invite you when someone drops out.

If it looks like we won't have a space free for a few hours, we'll invite you into a private lobby and explain that to you.

Unfortunately you've come online the last two nights just as we were all finishing for the night.

Though I did try some Spec Ops last night and enjoyed it. Played with a random and had zero lag/frame rate issues that I had when I tried with Zechs. Enjoyed it too. We made it to wave 9 first try. Then to 12 on the 2nd attempt.

Will likely be online tonight though if we have problems getting games again I may just go to Spec Ops :heh:

From tomorrow won't be on for awhile (unless a patch comes) till I finish Zelda.

Got my NAT changed to Open.

Set up my Wii as a DMZ client on my router.

It involves having to manully re-set up your Wii's connection settings though.

You need to set it up so that the router doesn't auto-asign an IP address to the Wii, you need to check your router and see what ranges of IP address' it uses and give your Wii an IP address within that range. On your Wii then you will need the gateway address which is the IP address of your router and 2 DNS IP's which you should be able to find in your routers settings/status. If your router has an MTU value you'll need that too.

Then on your router go to the DMZ setting, turn it on and enter the IP address you asigned the Wii in its settings.

Just checked the game online and my NAT now says Open

(I left the uPnP setting turned on two just in case)

Try setting your Wii up on your router as the DMZ client as I mentioned above.

From what I read online it's meant to help the Wii work better online as it allows the Wii to bypass any firewalls in your router (without disabling it for other devices such as your comp/laptop). Since your Wii isn't a comp it wouldn't be at risk by lack of firewall or something like that

Ok a few more games and this my view -
1. Maybe host advantage just like reflex
2. The main one - It's like playing hardcore all the time. You kill with one shot , you are killed with one shot.
3. Hit detection has 100% improved

Sorry I had to head off early tonight lads, just as I started saying I was having no real issues besides a bit of lag shooting, bang; back to the multi main menu and I couldn't get to join you again after that...then the babies started screaming so maybe tomorrow night.

Well, for everyone's amusement, my Wii froze and I lost my second profile. I restarted my Wii to find the patch. Gutted haha.

Still, now we have a game with what appears to be perfect hit detection.

As for host lag and dropped frames, that's gonna be like Black Ops I'm afraid. However, don't judge it yet as it'll be wanky for the next 12 hours until everyone has cleared off the servers used the old code and has updated.

I remember everything was always more choppy after a big patch on Black Ops.

Snuck online after eleven last night for a quick look at the patch and promptly got murdered a lot. The ump45 is no longer much good and the peeps that were doing the murderin were all using the RC-P90. This was my fave gun in N64 Goldeneye and I have a feeling, given the run and gun nature of MW3, that it'll be my weapon of choice here too.

Pity though - used to love having a different gun for my different moods instead of being forced to use just one in particular.

Sorry Ben, but you can't possibly understand how bad this is for me and Lost. I hosted in Black Ops and it was bearable (except on Nuketown). This is unbearable all the time. Every game I'm host and every game it's down to 10 or 15 frames a second.

It's not all about my KD either, it's about being able to actually play the game. In FFAs I can host and it's bearable. In anything with 10 players I'm done for.

I can understand the game is messed up right now my stats are no better than yours and just because hosting blops for you was ok doesn't mean it was for me- have you forgot it gave host to me for the majority of games!

Apart from the first night (which was great fun), I'm not enjoying this at all.

Unplayable host lag, 1-2 shot kills, killstreaks that do nothing, its just not fun.

We are running around like headless chickens at the moment, with clan members turning on each other.

Domination is easy enough, you just secure two flags and force their spawn on one particular point by controlling certain areas of the map.

When I have better map knowledge I'll be able to advise of decent choke points and high traffic areas etc.

At the moment I'll not be playing anyhow as Zelda is going to take over my life!

Lag shooting is fixed, hosting is improving as more UK players go online.

I'd say in January (when 20+K players are regularly online and all the bugs have been fixed) we'll have a gaming experience similar to Black Ops.

Yes it's difficult when we have move than 5 on. Zechs or lost posted some rules a while back (can you both repost)
Basically the clan is split into teams A team B team etc.

If only 5 players on then we can all join the same room, if more that 5 then the A team players are first pick to be in the room party.

If anyone joins and there are already more than 5players then the 'protocol' is to send an invite to the players in the party, who will then invite you in as soon as there is room (or if it's an A team player then the none A team player backs out of the party)

Best not to join and play against an already formed party as a) you will no doubt suffer a loss and poor k/d b) people in the already formed party won't be happy playing against a clan player

My k/d ratio isn't important to me at all (couldn't give a fiddlers tbh) and while you guys were pretty damn good and acting like a proper team (with what looked like each person fulfilling a specific role - one on sniper, one on defender, one on "rarrrrg I'm gonna charge at yez!" etc), it was fun getting the few kills against you that I did.

The only pain, like I said, was the others in my "team" going on about "my clan" being durty cheaters etc.

That domination match in the village has me thinking I need the PKG with scope though. That was my fave gun in reflex so might give it a go in this.

Wasn't fun for us having our own clan member wreck our point streaks and also having to kill you as well.

One of our clan rules is we don't play against other clan members, its best you just send us an invite and if we have a free spot, we'll invite you in and if you do join our game and are on the opposing side, leave straight away.

I'd suggest running a counter UAV too, sure you won't get the UAV out as frequently but stopping the enemies UAVs is a bonus you might not want to miss.

I encountered my first hacker today. I joined a standard TDM lobby, the game started and the countdown to the start of the game was on screen (from around 4).

As soon as the game had started one of the members on the opposite team got Juggernaught. However, they had the Jugg suit but kept their ACR assault rifle and retained the movement speed of someone carrying an assault rifle. After a couple times bumping into him, pumping him full of lead only for it to have no effect, o quit out of course.

It didn't take long but we've already got hackers!

I came across someone glitching on Outpost today, he was inside the body of one of the tankers (trucks), he couldn't be shot but he could shoot out.

Look out for people exploiting this guys and steer clear of that part of the map if they do.

So choppers don't work because they're still compensating for lag-shooting. As long as you keep moving a chopper can't hit you apparently.

If this is the case it goes to show that they knew there'd be lag-shooting in the game considering they made the AI compensate for it.

I've been on this afternoon and already I'm sick of hosting for this evening. Been pulling host most games and just getting angry with the game. I can't help thinking how much better Black Ops is (and always will be I reckon).
Also, every time Outpost comes up there's at least one person in one of the glitches. Also on Bakaara, you can get out of the map and shoot in too, some fucker was doing it before.

This game makes me rage so much!

Tried playing some of the single player but my god I'm hating it :heh:

Then thought I'd try Spec Ops, thinking maybe that won't need the patch, got a message saying I needed the patch and had to go into Multiplayer online to download it... thought YAY maybe I can download it now, so switched over and then got the same error message as before.

Had a good laugh last night with Lost, Ben and Zechs... Lost and Zechs finished up round 9 and Ben and myself played on for a bit. I tried switching my kill streaks to Support with the Juggernaunt on it and was able to get it in all of the I think 6 games Ben and I went on to have.... though the annoying thing was in the first 2 of those, while I was albe to get the points to call it in I never got to use the bloody thing.... cause both matches I chucked the smoke bomb thing too close to a wall and the damned package fell either on a roof or outside of the map :heh:

Er... how can you have 'play right or go the f..k away' in your sig when you spend the whole game running around with a rocket launcher on your shoulder? Playing 'right' would entail using your primary weapon for killing!

"Playing right" to me means not exploiting any glitches, not hacking or modding and not pulling the plug to "fix" your stats.

If it's an intended part of the game, it may be used as one wishes.
If you want to dual wield, then dual wield. If you want to rocket launch, then rocket launch. If you want to quick-scope, then quick-scope. If you want to drop-shot or jump to make yourself a harder target to hit, then do so.

Those that can't handle this should grow a pair and man-up! Adapt to survive!

I'll have to correct you there Drive, I don't think any of us use Choppers (or sentry guns for that matter) anymore as they don't work anymore since the last patch.

I got on late last night but had a good laugh anyway.

Me Welsh and Ben (think it was just us 3), we had a tight TDM game with a clan (us and 2 randoms...luckily the randoms had mics so we could talk them)...SKS I think the clan was. The lead kept switching between us.

Coming to the last 30seconds I think there was 2 kills between us, we were inside the tunnel they were trying to get in, last ten seconds about a point in the game me and I think Ben charge out of the tunnel guns blazing took out about 3 of the other team but still somehow lost the game by a point 7000 to 7100

I got on late last night after 9 I think, Welsh came on after a bit and we had few good games together.

Though I do hope the Under the Map outpost glitch gets patched soon.

Outpost is really becoming a glitchers paradise.

We had a game of domination on Outpost, I got B then ran down the tunnel towards C... got to the exit by C and noticed a shadow on the ground walking away from me with no player attached to it :heh:

He was under the map picking people off for the whole game.... then there was a 2nd one who I thought was doing the Truck glitch by C as I could see his shadow under one of the trucks... though after the game he said he was under the map too... yet he just stayed in the same spot.

We still held down A and B anyway and won the game.

I started giving out to the glitchers after the match and they were both like "I only wanted to see if it worked"... yeah right I bet they've done it numerous times before last night.


Then later on in our last game, bout an hour and half later or so we had an unlucky loss on Arakaden. We were winning most of the game 2 flags, all 3 for small periods at one point. Then one of their team pulls a juggernaunt out of a care pack and it keeps going back and forth between them having 2 flags and us having 2 flags. As our score nears the 200 limit we go back down to 1 flag... it seems like score wise we should still have the win as they were down at like 176 points or something. Then Welsh realises that they might win or it could be a draw, couldn't take back one of the 2 flags they had the game game ended 199 - 200... damnit

OK, there's some ground rules that need to be followed if you're going to play Domination with us...

1) When playing domination DO NOT go for the third flag. We get two flags, hold them and win the game. By running for the third you die, you leave a flag exposed and you flip the spawns so they spawn behind us.

2) Don't run around like a headless chicken. It's not Goldeneye. It's Call of Duty, where game modes like Domination require team co-ordination. TDM is for the headless chickens.

3) Support the flags. when we have two flags, stay around them or on nearby routes leading to them. The objective is to hold the positions.

Goldeneye had NO tactical game modes, all of them were just about killing. COD has tactical objective based games where you must observe what's going on and pursue the objectives.

huh? GE mode=Domination mode, Heroes mode=Team Defender (this is why team defender best mode in MW3:hehe:), Black Box=hmm something like Headquarters I think, Bomb Defuse=Sabotage. Dont say that thing about GE cause BB, GE, Heroes, BD - excellent tactical modes, and you K/D not count here (except Team Defender probably). Lol the most interesting thing that I think same about CoD. CoD=script, no steals, no tactical, no team... More skill players=more chances to win.
Why are you always running around alone and do not hold important points? And why are you not taking advantage of voice headset? When I played GE Reloaded today, my team moved smoothly and together. When rushes into the room and you hear "to the left, TO THE LEFT!" in your headset - thats team game.
About Domination, yea sorry. I do not often play in this mode in MW3 and I was a little confused. In GE mode in GE there is 5 "flags" instead of 3, therefore, as you understand, we need to keep 3 "flags" instead of 2 in MW3 (or 2 if enemy have only 1). So yea, sorry just confused. We do same things with respawn and other stuff in GE, so yea I know this. Btw in GE only one player can capture flag and while he does this, he cant shoot)
Anyway I think I must say my opinion about D and GE. I think GE mode better cause 5 flags=more tactical combinations. All maps made great and you can always see next flag. Our clan tactics are slightly different from Dominations mode. Shortly - capture 3 flags and defend from special places 4th flag. So enemy will be only with 1 flag. Still there is many many tactics used by other clans (like simulating and lock own respawn)...

I got on late around 9pm, nobody was on so played some free-for-all... finished first or 2nd every match :D

And so almost had my first MOAB too which was weird as I never thought I'd ever pull more than a 10 streak off never mind 20, haha.

Was playing on Dome and was using my class with just UAV as the streak with Hardline, so had a UAV in the air near enough the whole match. I wasn't even thinking about the MOAB or had any intention of trying to get one, I only glanced the score and saw I was winning something like 1050 to 600 (so 21 kills) and then thought "Shit I didn't die yet..." still didn't even remember the MOAB was in the game

I got 2 more kills and then I thought, "Fuck just remembered about the MOAB...just a few more kills...."

.....Reloading....flashbang goes off...white screen blind.....spraying of bullets......1 more kill.....white screen fades.....SHOT IN THE BACK

I'm finding that I'm kicking more and more arse the more I play. Tonight I hosted a tonne of games with ZiiMidget (same guy, just a change of spelling) and still absolutely kicked ass.
I kept getting a huge number of kills and a small number of deaths. I've been on fire as of late!

If I'm host there is really no point in me playing, the game is pretty much unplayable for me. I can't play unless Nightmare or Zechs or on, thats how bad it is.

The game is an inconsistent mess, I can have great games then I'll have one where I can't win a single gun fight.

Had a couple of games on Black Ops while I was waiting for Welsh yesterday (using Black Ops Lobby for voice chat while playing 3DS), got cobra (it killed people, shock horror), dogs and I dominated both games, that was fun.

16K still playing Black Ops by the way.

Its the host lag Mokong, it ruins the game for me. Nightmare & Zechs share the hosting duties with me.

Hopefully the next patch will improve it further.

Zechs, were you running Hardline Pro when you got the double MOAB? I've heard that when you reach you MOAB kill but get two assists it gives you a MOAB and then you earn another when you get your actual kill too.
It's just a glitch in the game apparently.
