No doubt in a matter of hours the forums will explode with shock/delight/tears at what Mr. Iwata does (or does not) reveal about the Revo during his upcoming keynote speech at TGS.

Just to keep everything together, I think we should use this thread for keynote discussion. We've a while to go yet, so post away your expectations/hopes!

Should be an interesting thread me thinks. :)

At least that long for news to filter through. Unlike E3, we don't have a live feed :(

Thank GOD this place is back before the announcement was.. errr... announced. I thought I was going to have to sit hear with nobody around to rejoice/bitch/gasm/piss over whatever is going to be told to us tonight.

Can someone just clear up for definite when the GMT time of when Iwata's speech starts? Some people seem to say 3am, some say 2am. I'm pretty sure I worked it out as being 2am GMT. Can someone clarify who knows for definite?

I will be here to see it, I just hope something worthwhile Is said, but if not hey it's no bog deal, as either way we are going to buy it. Posting on a Revolution board and all ;)

I did alot of research and this is it: The speech will start at 11 am in japan, meaning 3am in london (gmt) and 4am in belgium where I happen to live. The speech will last 50 minutes, then add another 20 minutes or such for gamespot to get their feed up, and it's popcorn time! So I definitely have to wait till 5am at least :s For the video that is, nothing is to stop from pics to be revealed as they get announced.

Hehe; I'm going to bed, so I'm either gonna be extremely happy or sad tomorrow morning!! Plus, I'll be missing all the chit chat right after, but I think things might move to fast at that point to actually have a decent conversation about things!

I think I will have a nintendo things burning sesh if they don't show us anything!
Starters is that DS VIP Tee that would almost be wearable if it didn't have the big VIP letters on the back. Grah.
Thanks for exact times though whoever it was.
Also does anyone know the server and channel name for the revo-europe IRC? I keep trying to use the one on the site but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Thanks.

I'd love to see some footage of the Revolution in action tonight...that'll keep the juices flowing until release in '06 ;-)

Considering the massive amount of hype surrounding Iwata's speech, if there's no major announcement there will be a massive backlash of anger and frustration. I'm dying to find out what Nintendo have come up with but I'm also afraid that after the massive buildup this revolutionary controller received, it's going to be very easy for people to be disappointed.

Despite how much I'm looking forward to Revolution info, I don't have the energy to stay up that late tonight :o
I started college today and I'm completely exhausted, so I'm going for a well deserved sleep and hopefully when I get up tomorrow morning I'll be pleasantly suprised.

You convinced me. I'm going to bed...

But no seriously. I’m almost sure Iwata is going to reveal the Revolution in about one hour and fifteen minutes. Too bad I’ve to get up early tomorrow. Have fun with the show. Good night. :awesome:

If nintendo don't release any information about this controller tonight...it might go against them. especially when fans thought they'd see more at E3 :-S I'm not too fussed...THEY KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING ;-)

Well, I have to be somewhere at 9:30am tomorrow morning, so no all-nighter tonight for me. I'll have to catch up on the newest details (if there are any) in the morning here at our brand spanking new Nintendo website.

Man, it smells new here. Like the smell when you pull the selophane off a new game and it smells like a Malaysian child-labour factory. That kinda new smell.

Just so you know, no Malaysian childs were put through strenous labour for the new forums or site, just Jan and Lammie.

If they intend to show the controller and Revo etc in September, when will that be if not at the TGS? We're past the middle of the month now and the hardware is obviously complete, and with everybody expecting tonight to be the big one there is going to be some big questions raised about their priorities afterwards. Just show the freaking thing...

And yet, saying that somehow makes me feel like if they do and it's the wrong time, everything will go wrong. I guess I want them to just show it when it's the right time.

This probably isn't the ideal time to make a first post (1:58 AM) but what the heck! I hope against hope that Iwata will show us something of the Revolution controller at TGS, and I can't honestly see any reason for ninty not to show us what they have produced. If it's so revolutionary then surely they will have taken out all the neccesary patents to stop the likes of Sony and Microsoft plagiarising whatever it is that makes the Revo' so special. I will be waiting up as i can't seem to get to sleep, fingers crossed!

What's the best site to see the info coming? IGN? Gamespot? We'll have to wait the 50min keynote to know anything??

Keynote begins at 7:00 PST.
IGN editors wait.
Readers scream for news.
Iwata says Nintendo has built a bigger game population in three ways: Famicom Mini (shows commercials). GB Micro. Promises more shipments next week. Then he mentioned it was Mario's Birthday week. Miyamoto stands up. Number three, Iwata says, is Nintendo DS.
Iwata mentions "touch generation" games such as Nintendogs and Brain Trainer.
Nintendogs has topped one million units shipped in Japan already, according to Iwata.
60% of Nintendogs buyers picked up the game with a DS, according to Club Nintendo statistics.

More on the Keynote speech as it happens...

Iwata speaking about Revolution controller
Iwata unveils Revolution controller
IGN will post high-resolution pictures, hands on impressions, feature breakdowns, roundtables, and more at 7:50 PM -- fewer than 15 minutes.
Revolution controller looks like futuristic television remote.
Glossy white design.
Looks Apple iPod inspired.
Controller is held in one hand. Attachments in the other.
Attachments connect to the bottom of the controller. Iwata shows analog stick attachment.
Thinking about packing Revolution with the main controller and attachment, Iwata says.
Controller acts like a mouse in real-space 3D. Pefect for FPS games!
Future attachments planned.

*Pssst, see those 3 pages of threads in this particular forum? They've been created and posted in only in the last 24 hours, or so. And if your comment was meant to be a joke, try using a smiley as text doesn't convey meaning too irony/sarcasm very easily.*

No, I was being serious, I just wondered why this thread in particular - it being the official one and all completely died before it got going!!

YenRug

I think the topic was too "general", most people wanted to discuss particular aspects and that was more easily done through threads focusing on that point they wanted to talk about.

Well, i think this thread has served it's purpose. The main reason i believe this thread didn't get going was because the site got battered with new people registering. In their excitement, they created many new threads and just chose to use them or create their own rather than use existing ones. It's a shame really, but that's the way forums work i guess.

I'll be de-stickying this now.
