I'm stuck.

I've made it to the final boss - The Human Reaper, and just keep getting owned by the Harbingers that keep spawning. I manage to get his health down to about 50%, then get swarmed by Collectors and Harbinger.

I think I need to re-spec, has anybody got any advice of what powers to use? I have access to them all. Also what team members are the most useful. I am using Jack and Miranda, although I have heard Legion may be help with a maxed sniper.

At the moment I am a Sentinal with Heavy Warp maxed and Shield Recharge. I chose the Assault Rifle as my weapon from the Collector Ship.

I'm thinking of using cloak and incediary ammo combined with a sniper.

Also, I have not got the Cain, would that help?

I'd stick with Miranda for her bonus to team damage — assuming you've specced her as such — but Jack isn't much use on Insanity as her biotics are only worthwhile against unprotected enemies.

Given that you're going to be coming up against enemies with Armour and Barriers, you're best off with hard-hitting, slow-firing weapons as they're designed to shred those defences. Incendiary ammo can't hurt, either, making Zaeed a good choice assuming you didn't leave him to burn alive. On a related note it might be worth your time to take on Warp Ammo as Shepard: combined with a decent assault rifle it'll chew through anything.

If you don't have a Cain I'm certain it would make things easier. I'm pretty sure it does hurt the boss — I've an inkling you want to try and hit it in the chest — but even if it doesn't it'll help you out when it comes to clearing the field of other enemies. Speaking of which, when there's a Harbinger in play try to focus on all this non-luminous pals first, otherwise they might be the next to be possessed and regain their health. Also, when Harbinger throws out his black projectiles simply back out of cover slightly until it dissipates and then crouch back down; you're less vulnerable than if you weather the knockback.

"Warp" is the key word for success here - you'll want Warp Ammo if you can (you can get it for yourself at the Normandy's Research console if you have Jack's loyalty) and at least two of your three squad members to have Heavy/Area Warp on tap. Since your Shep has Warp I recommend Miranda and someone who can take a lot of damage, Grunt was always my third choice.

If you can/haven't already be sure to max out everyone's warp abilities and their passive class buffs (eg. Cerberus Officer, etc.). If you take Grunt maxing his fortification ability as well seems to help him stay on his feet quite a bit. Thane's another decent choice with his sniper rifle & warp ability but he's a little light HP-wise so you need to look after him a little bit.

For weapons I always went with the Collector Particle Beam for my heavy, I personally always found the Cain unwieldy to use. Straight shooting heavy fire to attack the reaper's weak points or thin down the troops. The only strategic thing to add is to focus on one target at a time with your warp attacks, taking each individual down ASAP before moving on to the next and stay mobile. Just keep popping shots into the reaper as you go.

You guys have either played this game through several times, or have a much better memory than me!

I confess, I completed it for a third time quite recently. Even after repeated play-thoroughs it's still one of the best games ever. :D

Finally did it.

I re-specced my femshep with Heavy Warp and Warp Ammo, did all the side missions to level up to 30, and researched the Cain - although I didn't need it as the Collector Beam did the trick.

Legion with the Widow Sniper and Grunt with Fortification was a massive help. I didn't shoot any collectors or Harbinger - my team dealt with those while I whittled the Reapers health down.

Thanks for the advice guys.
