Pokémon N-Europe Gym Leader Tournament

In a couple months we should do a cool thing. Eight members, all train up upto two types, at X level. Then each player can challenge (them) and get a badge, following strict rules (no Pokemon of same type for example). Could be potential win, and a bit of fun to do. Although not exactly a tournament.

We will of course do tournaments too. But I thought it might be cool to do. Hell we could even be sponsored by Hamishmash if he was willing and have pictures of us and badges! (If we asked nicely/I havn't approached him about this yet).

Might be a good idea to combat the complaints people recently discussed in the Black/White thread and have more than 8 badges, and make it a bit less elitist.

Also, wouldn't it be completely awesome if we could somehow get some real badges made...

Rez, I still support your idea that their should be a Pokémon department on N-Europe.

It's just a whole other world in itself and the Nintendo Handheld department is now getting saturated with Pokémon Threads:laughing:

If I could find different shaped ones/I'll have a look on eBay, this could be done. :D

I like the sound of this and I would love to participate. If I were a gym leader then I would prefer to be a low level one, as I'll admit, I'm not one for especially complex battle strategies. :bouncy:

It would be quite complex to make rules, as surely it could be six one type 'Gym Leader' vs 6 strong types against that gym, would have to be some way to avoid this!

To combat the type effectiveness thing we could have a different theming system.

Like a "Cute Pokemon" Gym Leader, an "Angry Pokemon" Gym Leader etc. I think teams will have to be agreed upon so no ubers sneak-in...like Primeape makes sense in Angry Pokemon, but does "x legendary that looks kinda menacing"? "Flower Pokemon", "Red Pokemon" - random themes. :)

This is exactly what I was thinking. Like an sadistic murderer gym leader who uses Dark/Poison. A green obsessed person...etc etc.

Mcoy just hopes that some base rules are implemented like no legendary pokemon etc.

Even if it is type themed, you can still have dual types that combat it. Like a water gym can have a Whiscash that prevents electric attacks, etc.

How do we decide who are gym leaders?

I'd love to be an early on one. :) Although I can't currently connect my DS online at uni but can play during Easter hopefully when at home April 8th - April 30th and of course in the summer. :D

I won't be taking part so if you agree on who's taking part I'll happily do a "draw out of the hat" type thing, like the Champions League to match up types and players :D
