It was disgusting. He should have been sent off and banned. what happened? nothing! He is a chelsea player after all. untouchable. it is rediculous.

Unbelievable. It was a disgraceful tackle, could have broken his leg

I agree with both comments. I think the matter is the ref saw it late, and didn't give it, then got a bit card happy to try and make up for it. Honestly if the Fifa doesn't look at this, then they're going down the piss pan. Easily a leg breaker, thank god that a serious injury didn't occur from it.

He's done it before, cant remember who, but he only got a yellow card, when clearly it was a straight red, everyone said it was. But he is a chelsea player after all, tossers
EDIT:
"Essien was involved in a similar incident earlier this season when he was booked for a challenge on Bolton defender Tal Ben Haim.
Referee Rob Styles wanted to convert the yellow card into red after reviewing footage but Fifa stepped in to prevent him doing so. "
Hmm looked like Fifa got some money for that one, they're just useless
im not into footy much, but this tackle sounds intresting, any video footage of it?

But that was accidental. the role of the ball forced his foot over.

he has been given a 2 match ban. that is it. well he is a chelsea player so i suppose a financial punishment would have been pointless.
