Any ideas? Seeing as it is out on the same day as Mario Kart I'm assuming its to connect a DS to a computer with a wire for people that don't have wireless.
Can't wait for Mario Kart DS.

You mean you got a router?
Nintendo's official USB wi-fi adapter has yet to see a release.

Its great news for people without wireless/can't afford a router/find all router business too complicated.
Should be plenty of people online on Mario Kart, I'm sure it will never be empty :D

You can get any usb access point and it will work with your DS. Ninty is just going to sell one with their logo on it, probably just going to be a rebranded belkin/netgear/linksys etc.

No. Nintendo's thing is only compatible with the ds and the revolution. for a normal access point to work, you still need a router. an access point is not a router fyi.

To play DS online, you need a wireless router or nintendos usb wi-fi adapter.

For my information ? Dont be such a smart arse.
The computer that the usb access point plugs into will act as the router.
Think before you post.

screw it; i don't know everything on this topic; i apologise mate. My setup works with my wireless router plugged into my modem.
I assumed a wireless access point would work the same way; ie, like this

Are you saying you could just connect your pc to your BB modem, plug a WAP into the PC, and that would function as a router, allowing all other network devices to access the internet...i didn't know that-i could have saved money on my router...

so if I magically had mario kart now I would be able to go online now? Because the DS is already Wi-fi compatible right right??? There are just no games with wi-fi acess right now?

Nope unless you count Pictochat as one..

Yes, as long as you had internet connection sharing and had the computer turned on all the time. Crap way of doing it though, much better to get a router and not have to worry about leaving computers turned on.

Not just the game, the Nintendo network servers need to be up and running too, otherwise you wouldn't be able to find anyone to play against.

Wrieless routers are the wat to go, they are pretty cheap and are awesome, you dont want to be playing mario kart with a lead hooked up to your computer. You want to be in bed with a nice cuppa by your side.
Whens my company go under - Noevmber 21st?!?!

You wouldn't have a wire. It's wireless!
You can get USB access points for a lot cheaper than £15. You can get proper wireless cards for £15 which are a lot better than Nintendo's USB one.

£15 is hella cheap. I'll be picking one up since I don't have a router. Mario Kart DS + USB on day 1. Heaven. This is a huuge milestone for Nintendo.
