anyone pre-ordered games from them before? are they reliable? I've used them for dvds etc but never pre-ordered and I've ordered animal crossing DS from them, was just wondering if anyone has had experience of them before?

I've pre-ordered lots of things, but not DS games (I did pre-order a couple of PC games though).
They are usually somewhat reliable with pre-orders, but recently there's been delays with pretty much every pre-order I made. I'm still waiting for a dvd set released on 22/11 to be shipped, I waited more than 2 weeks for an audio cd, I waited 2 weeks when Knights of the Old Republic 2 (PC) was released (the last game I pre-ordered there).
If you really want it as soon as possible, maybe it's best to try elsewhere.

If you already ordered (and paid) from them maybe it's best to wait to see if they will ship it on release date (or 1 or 2 days later). Switching now may not be the best option, since most stores have lots of pre-orders to fill.

yeah thats what i was thinking, but VGP say if you pre-order your guaranteed to get it sent out on launch + you get entered to win a revo when it launches. Think i'll stick with cd-wow for now anyways. cheers.

I have used them previously but have found them to be totally useless. I have had pre-ordered games and CDs , which more often than not do not get despatched on the release date. I also don't think they are competively priced and needless to say I do not intend to use them ever again.
A big thumbs up to VGP though. I have in the past used them regularly and have found them to be the most reliable and quickest importer around (3 days shipping from Canada is a regular and impressive service) , and I have never been hit with import duty , another of CDWows failings.

Cdwow has been very good for when i bought dvds off them. but they was a delay when i preordered a dvd boxset of them.

I bought Animal Crossing DS for £22.99 from Movietyme. It will probably take time to arrive, but im such a cheapskate so i dont mind.

In case you're interested, I contacted CDWow (Dvdboxoffice apparently already sent out orders and since mine wasn't sent and I don't want to wait for a second shipment I started looking for others stores to order from) and I was told the game is in stock and ready to be shipped, so your order is probably about to be shipped.

I did order from them after I received their reply. My status is listed as "Pending Despatch".

it seems to be sorted, got a despatch email this morning, it seems their just very slow at updating the order status in my account, so your should be on its way soon to!

Got the game friday monring which was a supprise:) , My account still says pre-order item, go figure?

I've used cd-wow quite a few times (get a 20% discount) and I find that they are very reliable and whilst it may seem like orders haven't been dispatched yet they actually have, for example I preordered both the new Franz Ferdinand album and Madagascar DVD and got the dispatch email a couple of days after the release date, and then the item the very next day, when I went back and looked at the email, both times they said it was dispatched on the release day but the email was just sent out late.

So they do dispatch items quickly but I think there email/order status system is a bit dodgy and so can be misleading!

I still haven't got Animal Crossing for DS that I preordered a while ago. It has been dispatched, but I guess the mail is slow when Xmas is near.
