Some of you may know what they do in NOM sometimes, their 'Top 100 Nintendo Games of all Time'(voted by the fans) where the readers send in their 3 favourite games ever(on Nintendo consoles only).

This isn't just a fun thread, put the results are also going to be put on the MAIN SITE (http://www.revo-europe.com ).
There will be a news posts there too in the next few days.

Well we've decided to do it here, at Rev-Europe, and we need EVERYONE here to contribute:smile:

Basically, all you have to do is post your personal Top 5 favourite games of all time that have appeared on NINTENDO consoles in this thread, and next to your choice of no.1, a reason why its your favourite. When you send them in, they must be in ORDER because it will matter!

It will be done like this:

1. - 5 points
2. - 4 points
3. - 3 points
4. - 2 points
5. - 1 point

The game must be on a nintendo console only, so any of these:

NES
SNES
GameBoy/GBC
N64
Virtual Boy
Game Boy Advance/SP/Micro
Gamecube
DS

Also if say someones favourite is NES Classics: Super Mario Bros on GBA and someone elses Super Mario Bros on the NES, then they will count towards the same as they are pretty much the same game. Also for like Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow will count as one, as will Gold/Silver/Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald etc. All Nintendogs versions count as one too.

THE DEADLINE FOR SENDING IN YOUR TOP 5 IS 31ST DECEMBER 2005, ANY ONES LATER THAN THAT WILL NOT COUNT.

I will then collect them all and take care of the results table, and on JANUARY 8TH 2006 the Top 50 will be displayed on the main site. (http://www.revo-europe.com )

Get sending in! Any querries please PM me  (Or Sarka)
And please don't not vote for a game because you think it doesn't need your vote, do your PERSONAL top 5 please so its as accurate as possible

I'll go first, and will also give you a good idea of how to layout your post.

A fine idea.

1. Super Mario World: Nothing can beat the moment when I read 'YOU ARE A SUPER PLAYER' in coins. You don't get many games saying that to you.
2. Super Mario 64
3. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
4. Super Mario Kart
5. Super Smash Bros Melee

Man this is gonna be HARD!!!!!!!!

1. Ocarina of Time - I felt like I was in danger, like it was MY land at risk. The emotions I experienced playing this game were real!

2. Metroid Prime - I was Samus Aran (albeit a bloke), one of the most atmospheric experiences in a game ever, pure brilliance!

3. Perfect Dark - My favourite multiplayer experience, everything I wanted after Goldeneye and more was here in this game!

4. Mario Kart 64 - Once again, multiplayer genius, 4 player Mario Kart; awesome!

5. Super Metroid - It's Metroid, more or less the same reasons as Prime.

This is probably the closest to a list of 5 I can come, argh, I want to put others in there but don't want to take others out... surely I could say some are on par with others?! ARGH!

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - It was a magical time, y'know? It was an experience that's really stuck with me. I remember, it took me at least a year to complete as a ten year-old. Zelda had a way of making you feel like you were part of something huge. The bosses, the ending, the dungeons, Epona, the NPCs, everything - totally brilliant. The fact that Tommy Hughes spilt my milk all over me didn't matter, Zelda was waiting when I got home.
2. Super Mario 64
2. Diddy Kong Racing
3. Pokemon Blue
5. Mario Kart: Double Dash

1. Super Metroid - The closest we'll probably ever get to the perfect adventure game. The graphics, the puzzles, the music, the bosses, the upgrades and the progression are all nigh-on perfect.

2. Metroid Prime - Best game on the Cube. Read above, but in 3D.

3. Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time - The first time I stepped out into the blinking sun of Hyrule Field, I knew this game was going to be something else.

4. Pokemon Red/Blue - The original and still the best, eat away at my childhood.

5. Super Smash Bros. Melee - Quite possibly the most fun multiplayer game ever made.

1. Skies of Arcadia Legends Near enough a perfect game. Great characters, fun battles, awesome plot, tons of sidequests.. no RPG or game has beaten it in depth or greatness for me, and I spent so long making sure I got absolutely every last thing in the game.
2. Zelda: Link's Awakening My first Zelda, and in my opinion the best.
3. Resident Evil 4 It looks and plays absolutely beautiful.
4. Pokémon Gold The pinnacle of the series for me. It had the simplicity of the originals without the extra faffing of the laters. Plus you could go back to Kanto. Plus the day/night feature rocked.
5. Pikmin 2 So much fun to play, this charming game is far too underappreciated for my liking.

No room for Metroid Prime: Echoes, Mario, Tales of Symphonia, Mario Kart, TimeSplitters, Wario Ware, Smash Bros. or Beyond Good & Evil? Argh!

2:Resident Evil 4

3:The Legend of Zelda The Wind Waker*

4:Super Smash Bros. Melee

5:Super Mario 64 DS

*I didn't pick Ocarina of Time as I never had a N64. I'm playing it now on GC 8 years
after its original release and although I'm enjoying it a lot I find it hard to get past
the archane graphics and shoddy camera (shoddy by today's standards). It's still one
of my favourites though.

1:The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64) What can be said that has never been said before, Brilliant, ground breaking and magical. The wow factor was there for everyone to see from the get go. This was zelda for the first time in 3D; and it was worth the wait.

2:The Legend of Zelda: Majoras Mask (N64) Pipped at the post by OOT; purely because it was here first, and had a more magical feeling when playing it; MM was a lot of 'seen it in OOT' sort of feeling, but that didn't detract from the enthralling gameplay additions, quests and beautiful OST. The only game soundtrack I own.

3:Harvest Moon (SNES) Farming. 24/7. Great Fun. Work, Socialise, Sleep. Repeat till married and with a kick ass farm in tow!!

4:Eternal Darkness: Sanitys Requiem (GC) An enthralling story mixed with threatening locales and interesting characters make for one of the darkest Nintendo adventures.

5:Illusion of Time (SNES) A brilliant game; kept me enthralled till the end, and the only nintendo console game to come close to the greatness that is Zelda. Fantastic cast of characters and locales, plus one of the only games to bring a tear to my eye.

1) Zelda III - A Link To The Past. Unbelievable what a perfect game this were (and still is). This game is the greatest Zelda game of all time and it´ll take a lot to succeed it (in my opinion). This game will always have a place in my heart. Pure magical gameplay, story, sound (Zelda), everything. Simply perfect.

2) Lufia II (I want to say the series but if I can only choose one...)

3) Super Punch Out

4) Star Fox 64

5) SSBM

Making a 5 top-list when there are so many great games is really tough, but I´ll go with these. Zelda III is the sure choice, though.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Everything from the title screen to the final blow Ganon gets is an unique experience. A game has never been this good at making you feel like the hero. It should be called The Legend of Zelda: Best Game of Time.

3. Resident Evil 4
4. Metroid Prime 2 Echoes
5. Super Mario Land

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - When you first touch this game you are filled with a magical experience like no other. Zelda OOT is a unique gaming experience that drew in the player with it's graphics, music and gameplay. A stunning masterpiece of a game. Is there a word to describe this game? Perfect comes to my mind instantly.

2. Super Mario 64
3. GoldenEye 007
4. Donkey Kong Country
5. Perfect Dark

Ouch that was hard to do, and i still don't feel totally secure over the choices >.<

Super Mario Bros. 3: The best Mario game of all time. It was my first ever proper game and what a game it was. Platforming to the max, chasing Bowser through the desert, the sea, over the ice and even up into the sky, over 8 worlds of madness.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: What do I need to say about this game that hasn't been said. Nothing. Brilliance.

Metroid Prime: Fanastic adventure right until the end. Beautiful environments, great story.

Goldeneye: 4 player multi-player heaven. License to kill setting with pistols, good times sneaking in a shot from around the corner and hitting a mate in the back. Greeted with an abusive response to the likes of "You f'ing bitch!"

Super Smash Bros: Melee: The best multi-player ever. Enough said.

I'm sure I'm missing some greats, seeing as the GameCube was my first actual Nintendo Console. However, I've had a GBC, GBA, GBA SP, and a DS, so handheld wise I'm good to go.

1. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GC) - Definitely my favorite, Mario RPGs are always creative, funny, and do stuff for you that other RPGs don't. The worlds and design's are very creative and unique.
2. Pokemon Gold/Silver (GBC)
3. Mario Kart DS (DS)
4. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC)
5. Super Smash Bros. Melee (GC)

Almost in the Top 5:
Golden Sun (GBA)
Animal Crossing (GC)
Paper Mario (N64)

1) Secret of Mana - SNES - Probably the best game ever.

2) Zelda: Ocarina of Time - N64 - The best Zelda RPG ever.

3) Goldeneye - N64 - Still the best made and probably the best ever console FPS. It probably won't be beaten. The level design was perfect.

4) Super Monkey Ball - GC - Without doubt the best party game of all time, and in these last few years, its been the one truely original game.

5) Illusion of Time - SNES - The most beautiful storyline and innovative ideas thrown into a huge epic RPG.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
3. Super Mario 64
4. Donkey Kong 64
5. Paper Mario

It's impossible to choose top 5 nintendo games. There are many great games. Mario Kart 64, The Legend of Zelda (+MM, LTTP, WW) , Super Smash Bros. (+Melee), Banjo-Kazooie & Tooie, Jet Force Gemini, Metroid (Prime, Prime 2, Super) for example. I could continue the list forever.

1. Zelda - A Link To The Past. (snes) This was my first Zelda game, i rented it from my local video shop. By todays standards the graphics are poor... but who cares! the story, sound fx and music are fantastic. It is the only Zelda game i have completed so many times i cant keep count. If you gave a link to the past todays gfx then i would be in heaven. (btw, i bought it straight after renting it)

2. Super Mario Kart (snes). This game very nearly was my number 1, it completely dominated my life during school. The buzz when your racing round rainbow road or ghost valley 1 desperatly trying to beat your mates time and not fall off, powersliding round every corner, your heart pounding with excitment. Modern day mariokarts haven't come close to the original's speed & powersliding. However, i do give merit to the DS version for coming the closest.

3. Zelda - OOT (n64). Fantastic game, amazing gfx for it's time etc etc

4. Mario 64 (n64) . Only Nintendo is capable of such innovation.

5. Metroid Prime (GC). My first Metroid game... i laugh at people who havent experienced this beautifull gaming masterpiece.

This is so hard, errrm:

1. Zelda OoT - I have never played a game as much as I did this one, not just Nintendo games either, any other game ever, omg, take me back to the day that was released now!!
2. Pokemon Red
3. Pokemon Ruby
4. Goldeneye
5. Mario Kart (N64)

I am worried that I might change my mind if I give this more thought, can we change our minds before the closing date and still have our new choices used?

5. Resident Evil: Remake (GC) - I've always loved the Resident Evil franchise, although I never tried the original RE for the PSX, and thank God for that, so I could play this superb game with even more superb graphics/sound. Best game atmosphere ever.

4. Resident Evil 4 (GC) - It may vary alot from the older RE games, but it certainly doesn't make it less good. The best graphics in this generation + an unique action experience makes this the best action-survival game I've ever played.

3. GoldenEye (N64) - Movie >>> Game conversions have never really been great. Until Goldeneye. This game revolutionized the FPS genre in many more ways than Half-Life did IMO. The multiplayer section have endless play value, making this the best FPS ever IMO.

2. The Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (SNES) - Just by judging this game by its title, you know that this ain't no ordinary game. It was the first game I ever played as I was 4-5 years old. I spent countless of hours watching my older brothers completing this game time after time, and ever since then i've had the whole game sequence marked in my mind. Unforgetable game. Only one game deserves the 1. place even more than this game which is....

*drum solo*

Mary-Kate and Ashley Sweet 16!!!!!!!

...nah just kidding...lol---

1. The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time (N64) - The first time I played this game, I didnt even realise this was actually in the same game franchise as A Link to the Past, but the moment that Link pulled up the mastersword from the stone, I felt something which I've only felt one time before in my life - when Link pulled up the mastersword in A Link to the Past. This game is simply, just Perfect. From the beginning to the end. Nuff' said.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. (The fact that it exceeded my expectations. In the wake of OOT, it still managed to blow me away :D)
2. The Legend of Zelda: OOT (gotta be in there)
3. Jet Force Gemini (uber, no matter what anyone else says)
4. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Best ending, ever)
5. Starwing / Starfox (Came with the first ever console I owned)

So many others I could put down, but those were the first that came to mind. Prolly should have a 'Cube game in there, but nostalgia hasn't reached that part of my life yet :P

1. The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time - Well, it's the FIRST EVER 3D ZELDA GAME, and it's probably the most adverturous Nintendo game ever, I was gob-smacked when I first played this game on my N64 in 98', it was just so huge for that time.

2. Earthbound

1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Hyrule is more beautiful and wonderful to walk, run, ride and fly across than ever before or after (to this date). The story is touching, the character design is greatly innovative and the gameplay is stunningly perfect.
2. Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
3. Super Mario World
4. Legend of Zelda: A link to the past
5. Super Mario 64

I'm surprised people actually think MM is better than OOT, not because MM is not a great game, but I've just never though about it that way, and never heard people thinking it's better.

1. Super Mario World - The perfect Mario experience will always hold a special place in my heart.
2. The Legend of Zelda: Oracina of Time - Ditto for the perfect Zelda one.
3. Skies of Arcadia: Legends: Underrated is something I associate with this game so very much.
4. Fire Emblem: Path of Radience - The very best game in a series I fell in love with.
5. Super Mario Bros. - The classic original. Maybe it's only here for sentimental reasons, but I can't forget it.

5. Paper Mario (N64) - While the GC's incarnation is damn impressive, it really doesn't have the same level of charm the N64 version offered. While the world isn't as intricately realised, this is traditional RPGing at its finest, offering barrels of laughter and some really superb dungeons. Absolute quality.

4. Super Mario 64 - A complete revolution in 3D gaming. Full to the brim with challenges and omissions, any player sucked in Mario's world is bound to have a super amount of fun.

3. Resident Evil 4 - One of the finest gaming achievements ever, and sets the standard on how to make a proper sequel that tampers with the gameplay mechanics. And while the scares are completely different, being chased by the chainsaw man will induce any gamer to squeal. Like a girl.

2. Metroid Prime - This game really, really shocked me. There is so much on offer here, but the most awe-inspiring aspect is just how damn huge the game really is. Very challenging, too, all jam packed with enough incentives to make you cry.

1. Zelda: Ocarina Of Time - A timeless classic. Even by today's standards, this game is still absolutely incredible - the gameplay mechanics are still fresh and the dungeons are still as intimdating as ever; this is a true classic, and is probably the most influential game ever created. Yes, even above Mario 64 I'd say.

There ya go, and there's my first post

4. chrono trigger- just a great rpg that i will always remember. best snes game ever!
5. super smash bros melee- great fighting game that never gets boring! an exellent test of skill and reactions.

1. Zelda O.o.T. - I never actually owned this game. A friend of my brother's was playing it when I went over to pick him up, and had a go. I played it for five minutes, and was immersed. I actually ended up stealing it from him. Luckily he never new it was me. That's how good this game is, I broke the law to play this game.

2. Mario 64 - This could be interchangeable with any other of the Mario platformers, but I picked this because it was just such an important game. Playing this game in 3D for the first time, playing any game in 3D for the first time, it must have been like when the homosapiens discovered fire.

3. Pokemon Red/Blue - Who thought you could create one of the best games ever on the idea of responsibility. If you were to compare this game to anyting it would be parenthood. Seeing your pokemon grow from a caterpiller to a butterfly, becoming stronger, like watching a son or daughter getting bigger and smarter, it was just so rewarding.

4. Goldeneye 007 - This is more of a sentimental pick for me, since it was the first game me, my brother and my dad would play together. To think this will be one of my early memories, being shot continuosly by my father. Good times. Aswell as that this, like the first three picks in my list, is considered one of the greatest of the genre, and elements in it are seen in all modern FPSs.

5. Killer 7 - A marmite game, you either love it or hate it. You know how much I love it? Its one of my top ten movies, oh yes, that good. If Tarrintino made a game, this would be it. Look left.

Just the 5, this is going to be tricky......

1. Super Metroid (SNES)
This was the first metroid game i ever played, and then it became the best game i ever played. The game just felt good to play, it wasnt stupidly hard or easy it had a great flowing style of gameplay, it also had good replay value were you could try to collect all the items to see a slightly different ending (and rescue the etecoons to see another slightly different ending).

2. Super Mario 64 (N64)
The game that set the standard for 3D platformers. The best Mario [platformer] game ive ever player, nice big levels, some easier than others, and once you completed the game you had the option to carry on and try to get all the stars.

3. Mario Kart DS (NDS)
It was a toss up between the DS and N64 version of these games, but the apility to play people over Nintendo's WiFi connection just gave the DS version the edge.

Fun, fast and enraging, what isnt there to like about any Mario Kart game?

4. Lylat Wars (N64)
It was one of those games i just played over and over again due its addicitive gameplay, also you just have to love that independence day style level, lots of action.

5. Pokemon Red/Blue (GB)
Its been all down hill since the originals i say. Pokemon Red/Blue gave me months of enjoyment while i tried to "catch 'em all", and i did, i was so pleased when i finaly caught that damn Torus!

So glad that's your top 2!! Have to admit to not playing Skies of Arcadia on Nintendo, but on Dreamcast, so not sure I can really add it in my top 5, but it's without doubt my second favourite game of all time after Ocarina Of Time. It simply is one of the best gaming experiences ever.

I can only chose five? God this is hard
.................................................. .................................................. ....
Here goes:

1. TALES OF SYMPHONIA:
I loved every second. The amazing story, the brilliant graphics, the excellent characters, the Defining Dungeons, but most of all the BATTLES, they defined how an RPG should be. I've competed it 4 times still too find loads hidden.

2. Mario Kart DS
If I'd had maybe a bit longer with this it would be 1, but no its still absolutely perfect in every way. It defines the DS' power.

3. Metroid Prime 2
We played this for 2 hours at my birthday last year, and adored it. Wish there was a slightly longer single player, but perfect other then that.

4. Nintendogs
Come on then have an attempt at faulting it. You can't. What accessary has your dog got?

5. Poke'mon Blue
If it weren't for this nintendo would only have half as much money, the only things left from the franchise are the games and they are classic as ever. Charmander flamethrower!

Wasn't easy. Espesially which pokemon game to choose. And with likes of Mario 64 DS (6) and Metroid zero mission (7). I hated Ocarina of time.

2. Super Mario 64 - The game which completely revolutionised the 3D platform genre, before Mario 64 3D platformers had bad camera angles and awful controls

3. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Completely revolutionised the greatest series of all time bringing it into full 3D

4. Goldeneye - Fantastic single player and possibly the best multiplayer experience ever

5. Metroid Prime - The game that modernised the Metroid series and is the best game this generation out of all this gens consoles (PS2, Xbox, GC)

1) Super Mario Bros 3 (NES)
Though the first two were good, this one clarified that Super Mario was going to work. It tied up all the lose ends really. Before, in the first one, the Mushroom Kingdom seemed just pixels which looked alright together, like not much thought had gone into it. But this one showed that the Mushroom Kingdom ment something. I don't know if I am making sence...

2) Animal Crossing (N64)

1. Zelda oot (n64) - everything was perfect in it. Except me being unable to get that last dammed Skultula... I know its in Zoro's River!... I think
2. Super Mario World (snes) - platforming heaven. Nothing will ever surpass it.
3. Pokemon: gsc (gbc) - built on everything that was great the first time round. Truly a worthy sucessor.
4. Resident Evil 4 (gc) - considered the best game the cube has to offer, and with good reason
5. Star Wars: Rouge Squadren (origional n64) - many people overlooked this. It was a great game and level design was far better than its sequels even if it didn't make you feel like Luke and the gang :(

Well... It's difficult to say what's the best but...

1. Ocarina of Time - An amazing gameplay and later on when I learned to understand english better, the story got me. It's the Zelda feeling that makes this the best.

2. Majora's Mask - If this had gotten out before Ocarina maybe this would have been the best... But still it's a great game. Link's personal adventure. It deserves more respect!

3. Final Fantasy VI (SNES) - Well, it's Final Fantasy. A great rpg with great character developement and story.

4. Perfect Dark - Wow! Best fps in the world. Especially the gameplay is stunning. All those little details which were new to me at that time like enemies dieing on a chair if you shoot them when they're sitting (Sounds silly...)

5. Fire Emblem Path of Radiance - Music and the story. Those are the two things that games lack these days but Fire Emblem is an exception. Also I have to mention character developement. (I've just beated the Black Knight on my second playthrough on turn 2 :D)

1 - Majora's Mask (The Legend of Zelda)
A blissfully deep, dark and demented trip into the Zelda universe.

2 - Pokemon Sapphire
I cant grow out of Pokemon! Can't!!! I tried!!! And this one was GREAT!!!

3 - A Link to the Past (The Legend of Zelda)
First Zelda game I played. First time the Zelda magic touched me.

4 - Super Mario Sunshine
Haha, I don't carw what you say I like this game. Colourful, fun and my first trip into 3D Mario.

The Gamecube was my first Nintendo-console so it's just relative 'new' games in my list. Despite the fact that I have played Zelda TWW and OoT (and am in the process of playing The Minish Cap) there's no Zelda in my list hahaha! :)

1. Metroid Prime (GC)
The reason why I bought my GC. I had high expectations of this game and it surpased them by lightyears. Absolutely perfect.

2. Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga (GBA)
The best and most funny action RPG on a handheld I ever played. I started playing it and just couldn't stop. Actually: this 'sub-franchise' may have surpassed the games it was based on.

3. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GC)
See nr. 2 but then for a console.

4. Advance Wars (GBA)
The game that revived my love for strategy. Big, brilliant, and so much fun. Dual Strike is probably better and even more polished but this one started it all.

5. Mario Kart DS (DS)
I played Double Dash and Super Circuit but this one is the ultimate kart-racer and the best handheld racer I know. The amount of gameplay in this game is immense and it's presentation is flawless. The online option also makes it a significant game in Nintendo's history.

Chrono Trigger - Undoubtedly the greatest piece of human art ever produced, absolutely perfect music to rival bach , an amazing, infinitely engaging story and amazing unique gameplay this is the game that difined the modern RPG, not Final Fantasy 7 as many think. I pity the fool who has'nt played Chrono Trigger.

2. Metroid Prime 2 - In my opinion, far superior to the first, same amazingly deep gameplay, yet the artwork and locations were so much more atmospheric and the music much more fitting.

3. Resident Evil 4 - The reason the cube's lifetime will forever be remembered by me as the good old, incredibly disturbing days.

4. Golden Sun: The Lost Age - I don't think there has been a single game i can remember that has angered me this much, not even games such as Contra and Ikaruge. Frustratingly difficult, yet amazingly rewarding, with tasks so ridiculously obscure, yet essential to the progression that i would'nt be surprised if 90% of the people who bought it did'nt complete it. Amazing.

5. Pokemon Red - This game turned me into a hermit. To the average eye, a benign game, for children even, but for anyone who plugs it into their gameboy , a manbeast of a game that refuses to let go. My mother cried when she first realised she'd lost me forever to Pikachu and co.

Ocarina of time - that music was just so perfect, so haunting.
Majora's Mask - just more of the same perfection
Super Mario World - about as pure as games get
Super Mario Kart (DS) - I'm already convinced its better than Super Mario Kart (SNES).
Turok 2 Seeds of Evil - a vast, desolate, brutal playground.

2. Super Mario World (SNES)
3. Secret of Mana (SNES)
4. Final Fantasy VI (SNES)
5. Zelda III - A Link to the Past (SNES)

SNES just rocks...
but there are plenty of more titles I'd like to... nevermind. Those five are just undeniably great!

i only had a couple of games on the n64 so my list might be a bit limited but they were the best of the best

the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. i have completed it countless times each and every time discovering something new and fresh. Ocarina is destined to be on that list.

metroid prime

perfect dark

super smash brothers

resident evil 4

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time: Z-targeting, swordplay, Epona, fishing, atmosphere, brilliant sub-quests, plenty of puzzles, amazing boss battles, massive, prob the best soundtrack ever, I could go on.
Perfect Dark: Spent an unbelievable amount of time with this masterpiece, best multiplayer experience ever, especially with those evil Dark sims added into the mix.
Super Mario Kart (SNES): I still play this game now, nothing beats being a red ape, in a wife-beater, in a go-kart, hopping around corners and over lava, and illogically going faster than all the smaller characters.
Metroid Prime: They pulled off the 3D transition perfectly. One of the few challenging games of this generation, some of the bosses were just brilliant to fight. It was so atmospheric too & there was so much to explore and collect. And those Chozo ghosts are the best enemies ever!
Chrono Trigger: The best rpg ever, so stylish, great story, great characters & the double & triple techs were so damn cool. The music is the best I have heard in a game, amazing.

1.) Super Mario Bros (NES) - actually got the Deluxe Edition for GBC and was totally addicted although I died in most levels over 20 times
2.) Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64) - it's a classic, came back to it once only to ride around in hyrule field
3.) Super Smash Bros Melee (GC) - so much multiplayer fun
4.) Killer7 (GC) - this game has it's own style and feels so different from anything other
5.) Wario Land 2 (GB) - lost lots of hours on that too, I love the level design

1. The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time (N64)-
It just contains a special sort of magic i have yet to see in any other game. It hooks you and doesnt let you go until the very end! From start to finish it is a wonderful tale brimming with nothing less than perfection. Cant say anything more than that!

2.Pokemon Blue (GB)-
I was a young 8 year old coming back from his first week away from home. I was expecting to have to wait another week to play it. But unkown to me it had come out that day and i would find a copy waiting patiently on my bed when i arived home. If i had know then how many hours of my time and how much of my money i would spend on the franchise i probably would have burn it! But who can forget the first time you caught a Pidgy? Who can forget the first time you beat the pokemon leaugue? Who can forget the 133 hours i put in to finally get them all, in the hope THAT guy in the tower who told me he would give me something special, would give me a Mew? And most importantly who can forget the time i got home on a Friday night and barely moved all weekend as i sat there playing it? No one who sits in that chair can as its never been the same since!!!

3. Tetris (GB)-
The only game that i have ever turned on on a Saturday night for a quick 5 minute go and still been playing on the Sunday morning. I remember how mad my mum got when she came downstairs to find i hadnt moved for about 12 hours! Good times!

4. Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town (GBA)-
Even thought ive accidentally deleted my files twice ive still felt the need to replay up until i have a child again, just so i know i have a decent farm waiting for me if i ever want it! There is something about this game that i love and although i cant put my finger on it, i couldnt have had more fun out of it unless it was injected into my veins! The best Harvest Moon games and one of the best simulations games ever!

5. Resident Evil 4 (GC)-
Just when i thought my GameCube would be gathering dust until Twighlight Princess was released, i rented this perfect gem of a game and changed my Cubes lifespan for ever! After my bad experiences with Resi 1 i had my doubts but oh how i was gladly proven wrong. From the first time you dive out of a house window to escaping on a jetski the game was magical and is probably my favourite game of this generation!

1) The Legend Of Zelda:Ocarina Of Time I think that it was simply the best game ever in all categories(gameplay, history, visuals, music, innovation...). The first time i played it was simply a magical time for me. The first time i saw Link in the adult age i thought that i was dreaming and that it wasn't real. The bosses, the dungeons...everything was just perfect.

2) Donkey Kong Country My first SNES game and i thing it was the best of the series of course and in SNES for me. My favorite character you see was from that game sill now. Also the visuals was just perfect for the time being and this made it very special for me.

3)Super Mario 64 The first 3D platform game i think that that's enough. But i want to tell more...the first time i touch the superb N64 controller with that game i thought that it was...a real world. I can't believe that someone can create such a good 3D world in a video game.

4)Goldeneye 007 It was the a 1st person shooter that it had many innovations and made me a fun of first person shooter. And of course it was one of the best multiplayer i have ever played. Also a great one palyer mode.

5)Metroid Prime After Zelda and Mario it was the best transfomation from the 2D to 3D. A fantastic first person shooter with magnificent one player mode which was realy authentic. It has great visuals,music,gameplay...all was perfect.

P.S. No room for too many games but i thing that were the best.
Sorry if i have written too much but it was a subject that if i had the free to write i will fell pages.

1. Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64) - With its dark story and love of the absurd, this title became a truely emotional gaming experience as you fought to save the lives of Majora's ill-fated people.
2. Mario Kart 64 (N64)
3. Goldeneye (N64)
4. Pokemon Blue (GB)
5. Metroid Prime (GC)

1. Zelda: OOT - it's simply the best (until Twilight Princess I suspect...)
2. Super Mario Bros 3 - the game I have spent most time with in my life.. it's so cool!
3. Shadowman - This game freaked me out! Big Time! (asylum... brrrr scary)
4. ZeldaII: Adventures of Link - The game who got me into gaming, and introduced me to the Zelda series.
5. Snakes Revenge - Simply the coolest stealth-based game ever (from NES)

You guys ask for such a troublesome thing to do :o
But I will try to think about my favourite Nintendo games of all time:
1- The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64) -> of course, this one has to be the number 1, there's no such game as this one with great graphics, great music , great story and many excitement. Such and adventure like this one will never happen again, however I think that the next Zelda (Twilight Princess) if done right, can surpass this one, but I'll have to wait and see...
2- Chrono Trigger (SNES) -> without doubts this game deserves the best place after OoT, with such a fantastic story and one of the best battle systems that exist, I can't really explain it with words but this game really has a place in my heart... just play it and you will see...
3- Final Fantasy VI (SNES) -> This game is so incredible that it's really hard for me to put it behind Chrono Trigger, because I have the same feelings for both of them but only one can be the number 2 here... however for me they're both fantastic. This game has one of the best OST I've ever heard in a videogame, and a story like this one is hard to think, but somehow Squaresoft (now Square-Enix) thought of a way for put it into a videogame and I congratulate them for that.
4- The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask (N64) -> This is once more a great work, and the same formulla from OoT with a dark side. Such a combinnation could only end in one of the best games ever and the fact of having 4 different characters (5 if you count with the final mask) with different moves in the same game is just UNBELIVABLE. Good work Nintendo!
5- Super Metroid (SNES) -> For me Super Metroid will always be the best Metroid game ever, however I can´t deny that Metroid Prime is very cool, but is not my type of game...

P.S.
It's really hard for me to keep Mario 64 away from this TOP and I'm still thinking if I've made a mistake for let Super Metroid take Mario 64's place, however only one can be in the TOP and I've decided for Super Metroid... for me both games are at the same level, each one with is own qualitys...

1 - Zelda: Majora Mask (N64, GCN) - Second coming of the Hero of time, (hope for a triology), dark and moody, link's negative view portraiting a chaotic world in decline in the brink of destruction.
2 - Tales Of Phantasia (SNES, PSone) - Awesome RPG, great playability, great soundtrack, breathtaking for it's time, beats the hell out of newer Tales.
3 - Final Fantasy 6 (SNES, PSone) - Awesome, great argument and soundtrack, avoids being cliché, beats the hell out of FF7 and the newer FF's.
4 - Zelda: Link's Awakening(GB, GBC) - Same reasons as MM, the end of a chapter, the relativity of reality, the truth behind the obvious, all that beggins has to end, even heroes.
5 - Chrono Trigger (SNES, PSone) - One of the best RPG's ever, be it in story, action, art realization and attention to detail.

Runner ups... Metroid Prime 1&2 (GCN), Ocarina Of Time (N64, GCN), Wind Waker (GCN), Perfect Dark (N64), Resident Evil 4 (GCN), Banjo Kazooie (N64), Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64, Xbox).

1) The legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (masks, transformations, advanced interactions with secondary characters, great scenario, quite hard...in few words: the best Zelda game ever made, and the most original one!)
2) The legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (another masterpiece, but less innovative than M'sM; this was the first Zelda game I ever played).
3) The legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (the graphics and battles are the greatest in the whole series, but the game has faults).
4) The legend of Zelda: Link's Awekening (I loved Marin and the Wind Fish).
5) The legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (best 2D dungeons).

Yes, I'm a Zelda-obsessed girl. :D

P.S. I hope the image in my signature isn't too big.

1. LoZ: Majora's Mask--it's a very dark and surreal game, and it's the most overwhelmingly atmospheric game I ever played. To boot, it's also a Zelda game, which is never a bad thing. That last dungeon was just epic.

1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
- This was the game. I had loved video games since before I could remember, I played and beat all the marios and any other classic game you could name for the NES. I already had a good SNES collection built up; but when I played this game my world changed. From the day I beat it I knew Zelda would always remain my favorite gaming franchise. I've played and beat this game (SNES and GBA) countless times and I could do it everyday if I wanted to. Truthfully if it weren't from Zelda I probably wouldn't play video games very much anymore, and I have this game to thank for it.

1- Pop'n Twinbee (SNES) - it was a tough choice, choosing an all-time favourite game, but this SNES title is the one that I always play first when I dig out my old SNES. The music, the cheerful character design and fun gameplay make it a winner every time, and I wouldn't sell it for the world.

2- Illusion of Time (SNES)

3- Lylat Wars (N64)

4- Terranigma (SNES)

5- Skies of Arcadia Legends (Gamecube)

Boy, it was real hard choosing a top five, but those are the five games out of my collection I'd keep if I had to sell the rest.

1. Skies of Arcadia Legends - Definitely the best RPG game ever for me. Also, this game gave me the greatest magical experiences ever. 1 - Zelda OOT - When you wake up at 7am on a saturday and run downstairs excited to play a game, you know its damn awesome. No game has ever gripped me like this one.

2 - Perfect Dark - Best FPS there is, great strange story, hot main character, great weapons, aims, awesome multiplayer. Yes, its all better than goldeneye, you know it is.

3 - Mario Sunshine - I loved it, "its not Mario 64 blah blah" they all whined, good! I thought it was original and strived to get every shine and blue coin. And i did. Huzzah! Creative level design, inspiring use of the FLUDD, and nigh on perfect platforming precision. Gotta love those tripple jumps.

4 - Banko Kazooie - I loved Rare, and this game was just so fun. Better than Mario 64 it is. Yup. Does Mario have a sidekick bird who fires eggs and flies and shouts abuse at the game characters? Thought not.

5 - Mario Kart 64 - What can i say. Best racer there ever was. And it was the one game i could get my family excited about. We had and still have some great multiplayer mayhem.

1. Zelda 64 : OOT (N64)
!!! Without any doubt my favourite game ever (on all consoles)... Fantastic gameplay, graphics (in his time) .. Just a game that deserved his 10/10 in a lot of magazines ;) I just enjoyed playing this one and when I got nothing to do .. I re-play it (only game that has such effect on me). I had to wait three years for it (I really did , reading magazines and such) .. I was almost getting insane, if it was delayed .. But really it was worthed, BEST GAME EVER !!!! Go zelda ... MAke us proud on GAMECUBE too !!!

2. Zelda : A link to the PAST (SNES)
!!! Mythic tunes, great graphics, fantastic game play, great quest ... A MUST HAVE for everyone ... I still enjoy playing this old title :) Great 2D !!!

3. Super Mario Bros III (NES)
!!! I go way back in time, .. This was my fifth game for my NES :) And really i enjoyed playing this game ...

4. Goldeneye 64 (N64)
!!! After Zelda64 : OOT was goldeneye THE must-buy game on N64 !! Great gameplay, great graphics, great sound ... (you could even do headshots) ... great multiplayer ... The best bond-game EVER !!!! (one of best FPS ever too on console)..

5. Zelda I (NES)
!!! It all started back in time on the NES !! It was a great game, and it has a great replay, cause when you finished the game, you was able replaying it with other dungeons !!! Just a great game, had a lot of great time with these :) They should take example of it !!!

6. MARIO 64 (N64) !!!
Evolution in the 3d-world, GREAT GAME !!! revolutionary !!!!!!!!!! but yeah .. where are the good times sigh !!!

.... I could go further .. But these are my favourites .. ofcourse you got -> Super mario bros I, bros II & and much more !!!

1) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time -- My first Action RPG and the one that made me understand how much potential gaming actually has.
2) The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask -- Saving a world full of people I never knew for no reward was very emotional. This game showed Link as a TRUE hero.
3) The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker -- The closest gaming has come to looking like a cartoon. Beautiful.
4) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles -- A welcome return of FF. I loved the GBA connectivity and the new Action RPG plat style was a unique take on the usually turn-based series.
5) Chrono Trigger -- PLEASE Square Enix. Bring this to GBA!!!

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
It's Zelda, what more of a reason could there be? It's saddening that Twilight Princess isn't in my number one position, but Ocarina of Time is definately a most worth filler for that gargantuan game. Ocarina of Time was my frist experience in such an expansive world not seperated by levels. I was able to explore wherever I want whenever I want with few restrictions. It wasn't too easy being one of my first real games at the age of ten/eleven, but I managed to defeat Ganon in the end. It held seriousness, humour, action - everything I could ask for in my road to a gamer.

2. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES)
My retro days of the NES were filled with this title as it was all I did at my nana's. While I didn't get to play it often and I sucked like Birdo in an erection centre, it's still one of my most memorable games to this day. Revolution will finally reunite me with this masterpiece.

3. Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN)
Being nearly undefeatable is what binds me to this game. When I'm actually defeated, I train to defeat them. When I do, I'm happy and go on to find more challenging opponents. One of the most competitive games I've ever played, it's my favourite multiplayer franchise.

4. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door (GCN)
Paper Mario on the N64 was my first turn-based RPG experience - and my god it was amazing. Over a year ago I was flipping through Nintendo Power and my jaw dropped when I saw a couple screens of Paper Mario 2. My jaw dropped again the next month when it was announced for that upcoming december. It took the first game and improved on everything possible meanwhile executing an original storyline and maintaining what I loved about the original.

5. Tetris (NES)
I'm not all too proud of my emulator-usage on this game, but my record(sig) stands tall as many struggle with less than half of that. Those who know my gaming tastes can probably guess that I'm a sucker for a great puzzle game. Doctor Mario, Super Bustamove, they're all good. Tetris takes this cake though as it's perhaps the best puzzle game ever that doesn't hurt my eyes (Dr. Mario). Live on my friend.

Notable Mentions: Baten Kaitos, Mario 64, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy

Woohoo! I just signed up in order to put a post on this!
okay;

1. The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64) -- Yeah, it's all been said but this game was way ahead of its time when it was released. The shear size of the game world was amazing, I think it was also the first game to get a 10/10 at gamespot.com. That and it's my favourite game ever.

2. Super Smash Brothers (Nintendo 64) -- The original and the best! I spent the majority of jr highschool (yrs 7 - 10) playing this masterpiece. Plus it was one of the only games I beat my friends at constantly. I always played as Pikachu.

3. Tales Of Symphonia (Nintendo Gamecube) -- This was for me a real eye opener. The pure mix of anime style graphics and melee fighting style got me into this great RPG. I think that honestly it didn't get all the attention it deserved. It still stands as my favourite Gamecube game.

4. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (Nintendo Gamecube) -- Wow. This game rocked. It was a remake but until the time that it was released I had no exposure to the MGS series. I was in awe of the story telling capability, through the use of the long in game movies. It was the first time I'd ever seen anything like it. Now I'm a MGS fan, shame theres a real lack of MGS on Gamecube, but i don't want a Playstation... so i'll just keep my fingers crossed.

5. Lego Starwars (Nintendo Gamecube) -- This is a recent favourite, I only got a copy afew weeks ago, but the fact that anyone of anyage can play it puts it in my top five.

...Sorry about the length of this post. It's my first... I just got excited :bouncy:

1) Goldeneye (N64) Awesome single and multiplayer. The reason I switched from Sega to Nintendo.

2) Zelda OOT (N64) Do I really need to write why I like this?

3) Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (N64) Sure it was a bad port but I love the game and just never got sick of it.

4) Resident Evil 4 (GCN) Easily the best game this generation on any system.

5) Phantasy Star Online (GCN) I just can’t stop playing it and I don’t even have it online.

TOP 5 GAMES OF ALL TIME [In My Opinion]:

TOP GAME:
1.) The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time [N64] Considered by many critics to be the greatest game ever made and ranked highest amongst all game statistic sites such as www.gamerankings.com with no review below 80% [the only game to achieve this] for a good reason. Everything about the game makes it a true MASTERPIECE its tight control, level design, and its innovative gameplay mechanics such as Z targeting. Had a great feeling of satisfaction completing puzzles in this game, never a dull moment, was always drawn back to play this game again and again.

2.) Super Mario 64 [N64] Arguably, the greatest platform game ever made and the sole game responsible for revolutionising the genre with its phenominal sense of control, courtesy of 360 degree analog control which was practically non existent until this game came out. A True Classic.

3.) Super Metroid - Another classic game, for what it offered at the time of its release, an incredibly well thought-out and intriguing adventure from start to finish, also bonus incentive to win in under 3 hours, revealing some Samus skin.

4.) Goldeneye 007 - Still to this day, my favorite all time first person shooter. Have yet to see a movie license be used to produce a fine game like this, mediocrity film based games fills the store shelves these days. Need I give examples?

BOTTOM GAME:
5.) Metroid Prime [GCN] One of the very few ORIGINAL GCN games to be released for the system, great level design, graphics, puzzles, the use of first person pespective and scanning. Easily the best GCN game to date.

My Top 5 Nintendo Games of all time!

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) – This is quite possibly the only game that has ever filled me with true joy upon competition. I’m still not 100% sure why it is the case for this and not others, as there were many agonising times throughout (the Water Temple is one of my worst memories ever)! However, I shall never forget the final shot of Link and Princess Zelda reunited in their childhood. Quite incredible. The fact that I played this game after many graphical superior titles on the GameCube shows just how timeless it is!

2. Goldeneye (N64) – The only game that I have ever had non-stop fun with from beginning to middle (that’s right, it hasn’t reached an end yet! I’m still playing it today!).

3. Resident Evil Remake (GCN) - A fantastic storyline with brilliant characters and in my opinion the best sound score ever! This game still gives me the shits, even though I’ve already completed it. All topped off with the finest visuals I have ever seen.

4. Metroid Prime (GCN) - A huge adventure of epic proportions with a fantastic combination of gameplay elements. This does not fit a category and is one of the most unique, diverse games I have ever played. Never are the FMV’s over used, the story and mood of the game is created as you play it, something which developers rarely succeed in doing these days.

5. Pokemon Red (GB) – I’m not a huge Pokemon fan these days, but when I think back to it, Pokemon Red gave me hours, days, months and even years of enjoyment. It took me well over a year to “catch em all” and to build my elite squad of Level 100 Pokemon, but when that happened, I became unstoppable. It’s probably the most engrossing game I’ve ever played and ever will play.

These titles were very difficult to choose from, and it is possible that some may be changed before this feature finishes. Nevertheless, these are fantastic games!

This is really, really hard for me. I've owned alot of consoles - and alot of the games, and nearly all of them have given me an amazing time.

1. Tales of Symphonia [GC] - I don't think I've ever been so connected with a character[s] or the storyline before. I've actually had emotional moments over the game - thinking about the world etc, and it's relations to Earth. But enough about that for now!
2. Goldeneye 007 [N64] - I cannot believe how much fun this extremely basic game was. Most definately the best FPS ever made - without a doubt. I still have conversations with my classmates about the best guns, levels and I havn't even completed the damn thing! [Aztec is impossible - I swear!]
3. Sonic Mega Collection [GC] - I put this in here for the games that were actually on the Mega Drive, and the memories it brought back. What a legend.
4. Yoshi's Island [GBA + SNES, played on both once again] - Best platforming game without a doubt. Graphics, sounds, heck - even my mum played this game and loved it.
5. Super Smash Bros Melee [GC] - Even playing by myself on a multiplayer game was fun. Many a time when I got bored with my GC games I'd stick that in and give it a whirl.

3. Super Mario World - This is THE platformer.

4. Zelda: The Wind Waker - Awesome visual style combined with Nintendo quality.

5. Resident Evil 4 - I can´t believe how good game this really is. Best visuals in this generation, tight controls, wonderful voice acting etc... GOTY 2005.

1. Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC): - The Greatest RPG in existance, and unfortunately, completely underapreciated. The characters are wonderfully developed, the story is funny, deep, and very original, and the soundtrack was so good, it forced me to download it. Most importantly of all, though, it has lots of pretty flashing lights. This was one of the games that decided my console choice. It's in a totally different league than every other game, which is probably what prompted me to beat it more than 10 times.

2. Resident Evil 4 (GC): Shotguns, Zombies, Heads Exploding, Schoolgirls offering some "overtime."

3. Tales of Phantasia (Super Famicom): 2d RPG's at their best, and the most interesting ending I've come across... buy it when it come out on the GBA

4. Advanced Wars: Dual Strike (DS): The most addictive strategy game I've ever played... 87 hours so far with no sign of stopping

5. Perfect Dark (N64): 64 fps's at their peak, because of the Goldeneye elements plus so much more

What was the ending!? I'm curious. Spoiler it please dude - I couldn't be arsed to complete it.basicly...

spoiler ahead (i'd recomend no one to read it, but since you asked)
you played all game in your point of view, but it was still a revenge
to someone who did wrong to you, so when you got to the end, you're as bad
as the main bad character, as he had his own motivations, if you where in the
same place as him you would have no choice but do just that.
Doesn't turn him into a good guy, but shows that truth is relative, from the point
of view someone sees it; the world seems diferent because you can't see the
world through each others eyes

1. Resident Evil 4 (GCN) - The best of a series that I regard as one of my most favorite. It provided improvements such as a revamped item management system and progressive level to level design (both which significantly cut down on backtracking), as well as a new weapons upgrading system, battle targeting system, interactive cutscenes, etc. It’s always a fun ride to follow a series’ evolution; sharing the adventure and making connections with its characters stretching from several games back. Hopefully Capcom continues it with a Resident Evil 5 version for the Nintendo Revolution.

2. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GCN) – Metal Gear Solid joins Resident Evil as one of two game series that, once introduced to, compelled me so seek out the rest of the main titles… if only Hideo Kojima and Konami made more attempts to share the experience outside the Playstation demographic (specifically to the Nintendo consoles). The story progression (and boy what a story) was always on the move and spaced well with the in-between gaming elements. The characters were a compelling mix. The boss encounters were abundant and were o-so deliciously good and diverse. The combination of a short play time packed full of storyline events, memorable characters, fast paced gameplay, etc. made for a “short and sweet” gaming experience that doesn’t get dragged by overly difficult challenges, unnecessarily long “leveling-up” fillers, or tediously dragged gameplay repetitions. Hopefully Nintendo gamers don’t get left out for more in the future.

3. Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN) - Perhaps it was the nostalgic inclusion of Nintendo characters or perhaps it had one of the most refreshing take on the fighting game genre in years, but this game is a wonderful product anyone can easily get into. From the simple control learning curve to the four-player mayhem, it’s a blast to share the experience with friends and family. Furthermore, it’s a useful encyclopedia for the history of Nintendo as a games designer and publisher. Hopefully other recognizable game developers and their characters can have a guest appearance in the future. If learning other companies’ rich heritage in trophy mode doesn’t interest, perhaps a Mario vs. Sonic battle event will.

4. Tales of Symphonia (GCN) – I’ve never played many RPGs in my life but Tales of Symphonia will definitely sit on top as one of my favorites. Progression in this game was excellent and story elements were sprinkled to great effect that it (almost) never felt like you waited hours just to get the next plot point. Also, if there’s anything I hate in RPGs, it’s random battle encounters. Thankfully this doesn’t have it and saving your game can be done just about anywhere. As for the battles itself, they were deep and fast paced. It was overall quite enjoyable. I can see why the Tales series is considered one of the best the in RPG realm.

5. Chrono Trigger (SNES) - Admittedly, I've only played this game about half way, and on a PC emulator at that, but I can already tell what many CT gamers who've finished it know. This game has characters you'll fall in love with. The battle system is one of my favorites with regards to RPGs. Random encounters are, again, thankfully not present, especially in the overworld. The story's compelling and the artwork is bright and colorful. I can't wait to download this on the Revolution, Square-Enix permitting.

I know descriptions weren’t necessary for all except the first game on the list, but I thought it wouldn’t do the rest of the games justice without saying something about why they’re part of my list of favorites. Having listed them, though, I can't help feel like I've left behind some other games that are dear to me for one reason or another. They may or may not have been consider critically acclaimed by critics, but they're special to me in small ways as only a child new to the scene would cherish long after he grows up. As such, I'm going to add another few names on the list. No worries, it’s just for fun, and besides, I never had that many games for the Nintendo systems I've had.

6. Jackal (NES) – I remember this as THE game that provided me with the most excitement and greatest satisfaction upon completion. I shared this game with my brother and we effortlessly took it on together. Let's just say I love co-op games and I'm not talking about games like capture the flag like in those FPS multiplayer games. When we finally beat it the first time it was high fives all around. Eventually we got so good at it that our coordination was automatic. What took laborious hours of continues and replays now only takes about half an hour or less to finish. It’s just one of those games (such as Contra, Rush and Attack, etc. which you can add as two other favorites of mine) that, once finished, becomes so satisfying you're just awashed with pride. It would be the first and last time I'd experience that momentous feeling in my gaming life.

7. Ninja Gaiden: Shadow (GB) – The only Ninja Gaiden game I’ve ever played was for the original Game Boy. It was a Japanese version too so I didn’t know the English title for it. Similar to how I remember the original Rockman series (aka Megaman), the music from this game is pretty much the cornerstone for which I remember this game. The music pushed me like I was watching an action movie. The combat is great and the boss battles too. It’s just another example of a “short and sweet” gaming experience.

8. Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES) – Never knew about it at all. I never even looked at game magazines. And to think it was a replacement for a game I didn’t like and boy it was surprisingly good. Again, I love co-op games (a rarity nowadays) and I played this with my brother too. Switching between two characters (and as such, between player 1 and 2) allowed for a shift between differently skilled players. If I wasn’t up to the challenged, my younger brother certainly could, and vice versa. I plan to get the DKC SNES trilogy on the Revolution too.

9. The Adventures of Batman and Robin (SNES) - I love the animated series and I love this game. It had every villain I could have ever hoped to go up against. The graphics were beautiful and did justice to the series and Bruce Timm's artwork. It's unfortunate that it wasn't co-op but it was fantastic nonetheless. I've always wanted a follow-up to this on modern consoles but the result weren't quite there (graphically, Batman Vengence wasn't that remarkable). I love to listening to Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill's Batman and Joker, respectively. Unfortunately, Batman: Rise of Sin Tsu is the only Batman game I have for the GCN which at least has impressive cutscenes of the animated series in 3D. Hopefully a Justice League game will come out with all of these and more before we're left with only "The Batman" series whose Batman and Joker voice cast just isn't the same from what I've grown to love.

10. Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) – I’ve witnessed the evolution of Mario games for the NES and I must say, they stand so differently from each other you’ve just got to try them all. SMB3 is a remarkable advancement from the original Super Mario Bros. game. It provided a wealth of themes and challenges… not that I’ve ever managed to finish a Mario game in my life (except for Super Mario Sunshine but that wasn’t a challenge compared to platforming games of yesteryear). My brother did finish them though (i.e. 1, 2, 3, Super Mario World, and Super Mario Land) along with quite a few Megaman games too (another series I've never managed to complete a game from and one that I thought he'd finish all of given the chance).

11. Double Dragon 3 (Famicom) - This goes as another great co-op / beat-em-up game that I've loved going into with my brother and cousins. Nothing remarkable in the graphics department but a blast when two players cooperatively do cyclone kicks and jumping off each other. Kicking opponents in the abdomen, grabbing their heads and holding it there for prolonged periods of time never gets old.

12. Battle City (Famicom) – Not many people here might know this game judging from the queries of the game supposedly being included with Star Fox Assault. From level to level, you’d finish off tanks while defending your base, all within the borders of your television screen. Essentially enemy tanks (ranging from fast ones, to hulking big ones that take more than one hit to blow up) spawn from the top left, top right, and top center of the screen. The bottom is your base (basically an eagle emblem enclosed within a three sided brick wall). Beside it are the gamers’ spawn locations. Special glowing tanks, when shot, randomly create an icon on screen that will either provide increase tank fire power, temporary shielding, temporary metal walls for the base, etc. I recommend this game for those of you unfamiliar with it.

I’d love to reminisce more with other games like Bayou Billy, Duck Tales, Monsters In My Pocket, Rescue Rangers, and any other game I may be forgetting (which I'm sure I am). but I don’t wanna waste anymore of your time. Thank you for reading.

This is going to be a hard one, there are lots of really cool games, both named and unnamed (though most named here good choises everyone, some of them I had already fogotten.)

1. Super Smash Bros Melee: It's the best multiplayer game ever. No-one can go against the power of Ninty's beat-em-up. Not even that wannabe Shrek Superslam. There is just something to the simplicity of the game. People pick up a controller play SSBM and have fun you dont need much explanation and soon the button mashing (wich doesnt work) turns into real attacks. Great game and my nr 1.
2. The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask: Good Graphics even today and a great story.
3. Chrono Trigger: One of the most enticing games I've ever played. I love the FF games and would have placed FF 7 on 2nd if it wasnt for the fact that it's sony's console or the PC you have to play it on.
4. The Legend of Zelda Ocrina of time: What can I say about an almost perfect game?
5. The Legend of Zelda A link to the past: To me still the best zelda story, It was long and captivated. OOT and MM were great too but the story wasnt as good (advantage to MM and OOT is that the Graphics and 3d Worlds sucked you in there)

1) Terranigma
2) Zelda A Link to the Past
3) Super Metroid
4) Zelda Ocarina of Time
5) Super Mario All Stars

Terranigma was an experience like no other. I didn't think it possible for Quintet/Enix to do better than Illusion of Gaia, yet the sequel surpassed even Zelda, mainly thanks to its incredible (and moving) story as well as charismatic characters. But of course these elements alone wouldn't have brought it anywhere if the game didn't also feature excellent gameplay, combining action and puzzles just perfectly.
Additionally, it still has my all time favorite soundtrack (counting both games and movies)

A little note on Mario All Stars: I would have voted for Mario3, but I only consider it better than Mario World when allowing you to save and restart from any visited world, so...

Pity I couldn't fit Metroid Prime in there, but I see it's getting enough votes anyway.

1) Zelda: OOT - This game is so great, that it doesn't even warrent a reason for why it's at no.1 anymore

2) Tetris - In some sense, this has the best gameplay ever in a videogame. Anyone can pick up this game and be addicted, whether it's your little sister or your old grandad.

3) Super Mario 64 - Pretty much the first game to feature an interactive living and breathing 3D world. Designed play mechanics as we know today across a variety of genres.

4)Perfect Dark - Took the revolutionary Goldeneye design and upped it to another level. Lost many a long nites and hours to the multiplayer of this game.

5)Zelda: Majora's Mask - Uses the OOT template and provides a whole new concept to story telling. Having people go around their daily chores while you are trying to save their arses is brilliant, and how certain NPC's fates intertwine throughout the three days.

1 - Tetris - A simple highly addictive puzzle game which made the first Game Boy something really special. Highly enjoyable.

2 - Super Mario Bros 3 - In my opinion the best Mario Platformer to date, packed with secrets!

3 - Warioland - The original Wario Land on the Game Boy was awesome, the characters had attitude, the levels put a sense of excitement in to each one, and overall a very satisfying experience.

4 - Beyond Good & Evil - Loved this game, as it tried not to excel in any particular area (see this months Edge) and by doing this the experience as a whole felt really balanced for me.

5 - Viewtiful Joe - One of the most fresh expeirences to hit gaming in recent years, superb fun.

hmmm...

1) The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - An obvious choice, but when you take a deep look at the game, you realise just how deserved of the top spot it really is. 7 years on, aspects of the game have dated, such as the graphics, and the limited soundclips (aside from the soundtrack, which is perfectly complementary to the environments), but below its visual and sonic shells, the unparalelled gameplay, design and execution of the game is truely astounding. This is the most well rounded, immersive, pure gaming experience available. No other single player game has made me replay it as much as this one.

1.Zelda: OOT(N64)-Yep, predictable be it so, it's a truly amazing game. The effort Shigeru and his gang put in is astonishing, and the attention to detail, the large quantity of side quests and some true emotion help this classic recieve the attention it deserves.

2.Super Mario World(SNES)-If there's one way you can criticize Nintendo, it's that they don't do as many 2D platformers as they used to. And this makes it all te more depressing. Mario responds to your every command with no wait, the level design is tuned to perfection and it's a game of sheer satisfaction. Just let a koopa shell off into a line of enemies, if you don't grin at your efforts then you're clearly not a gamer.

3.Super Mario Kart(SNES)-If there's one thing I can happily admit, it's that I love Mario Kart. I've enjoyed every incarnation so far (Excluding MKDS for lack of experience, I'm waiting until the 25th for it), but the SNES provides the best experience by far. The handling makes for some very challenging racing, and power sliding is a true test of your skills. Add that with well designed courses, memorable music and a fantastic multiplayer and you have the king of racers.

4.Zelda: Link's Awakening(Game boy)-If there's one game that isn't appreciated as much as I'd like these days, it's this gem. Considering the limitations of the hardware, it manages to best any Zelda game (Apart from OOT obviously) with ease. The tale of exploring the tmysterious island of Koholint is one that remains in my mind as a gamer, and it had classic moments that really puts other games of the genre (Including Nitendo's own efforts) to shame. And the dungeons? They may be flat and with one floor (with the exception of the seventh), yet the puzzles and dangers that lurk within make this a challenging and exciting journey.

5.Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal(Game Boy Colour): It's a tough call between this and it's predesscor, but I think I can hand this down as the ultimate pokemon experience. Sure, it may not do so for nostalgia sake, but the scope and suprise hidden in that cart make this some incredible achievement. Who honestly didn't get addicted to breeding various pokemon together to see the results? Who's jaw didn't drop in astonishment at the discovery of going back to Kanto? And who never experienced a linked battle and wasn't urged to push their pokemon on, no matter what the results were? An amazing experience, and proof that RPG's don't have to be traditional to be successful.

2.Diddy Kong Racing

Especially Donkey Kong.

Well its taken me a few weeks and quite a bit of thinking but I think this is as close to my top five as were gonna get - its soo hard to decide!

1) Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kongs Double Trouble
This is the top for me. DKC was amazing and the second was great but a little too dark for my liking but then came this one to complete one of the best trilogies ever. It has everything, a great world map and great characters both to play as and to interact with not to mention some great fun baddies. The game also has one of the best sound tracks ever and some of the best graphics and replay value Ive ever known in a game. Ive completed it so many times, first to get the 103% then I got a NMS that had a cheat, TUFST or HARDR that you could enter and play again to earn 105%. What an achievement, and what made it even more of a joy was that MERRY cheat. What a game... and Im getting the GBA remake this Chrimbo so I can get some (watered down) DKC perfection anytime!

2) F-Zero
Ill never forget this game or fall out of love with the series. This is the one that truly got me to where I am today gameswise. Id played on things like the Commodore 64 and NES before this and then stuff like Street Fighter 2 on the SNES but once I got a go on this... I was hooked to what was going on in the game... the graphics were/ are superb, the controls are perfect and the characters and vehicles and levels leave nothing to be desired. It was this game that kept me from getting into Super Mario World and it will forever hold a dear place in my memories, all the sequels have been amazing and everytime I hear the remixed music it gives me chills up my spine. What else can I say?

3) Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
This was the first ever game I reserved, and back in them days it was in the lowly gaming heaven of Woolworths that I did so. I remember being up the town and coming down with my parents and driving past Woolies. I looked up the sidestreet and saw a big lorry sitting there and I got a buzz of excitement inside - today would be the day I got a new game! Lo and behold, when we got home the phone rang and it was Woolies, my game was in. Ma went to get it and I waited for what seemed like hours... but what an experience once I got my little mitts on it. The intro story... and then the colours and crayon backgrounds, raocking soundtrack and throwing eggs and the Yoshi's had so much personality - they were real... Nintendo had done it again. This was back when DKC and Mario World reigned supreme and look what they had delivered! This is my second favourite platformer ever and as you can see by me placing it third here, its easily one of the best games ever.

4) Skies of Arcadia Legends
Ok this is where the decisions get tough and I start over analysing my own selections. I have chosen this because its got a great story and characters and atmosphere from start to finish and wonderful tunes for everywhere you explore... what more could you want? Ok, no random battles and a battle system like Tales of Symphonia but get over it, this is an RPG and this is the mould that RPGs are made in. There are ship battles in this game and to end it all theres an onslaught of epic battles at the end each of which take forever to complete before you rescue the world and feel some of the warmest and proudest feelings you'll ever have while playing a computer game.

5) GoldenEye 007
Do I need to say anything to justify this? Its a game which is, no joke, still used as a bench mark in comparing others in the genre to today. Great controls, great Bondstyle music and a superbly superb and addictive 2player mode. Ill take you anytime, Bunker and Proximity Mines... your carcass shall be mine.

That was difficult, where are the Mario Karts, Mario Platformers, Zelda games and countless others like Pikmin and Starfox...? I wish I could vote for them but these others have nudged them aside. What does make a game so dear to you anyway? For me it seems to be the experience, the characters and something that is very important in making a great great game is the soundtrack. I sure hope my top three feature highly up the list because they truly are benchmark games which I have some wonderful memories of.

OK, my top five favourite games are as follows (and i've had a good think about this)

1)Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Unbelievable game, everything is presented so well (although the graphics have unfortunately dated since) The dungeon design is absoloutley ingenous, all of them unique and special in there own way. The enviroments seem so big and full of promise the first play through the game, and an epic, superb (though i found a little easy) final boss.

2) Goldeneye

Astounding first person shooter, right up there with Half-Life and Halo. It may sound unfair, but i think the licence really does help with this one. You really did feel like James Bond with the perfect mix of stealth and shooting, with a few gadgets along the way  The best part was undoubtedly the multiplayer though and although because of advances in technology i may prefer Halo these days, I think this had more depth and is overall the better multiplayer (if only the graphics were up to scratch)

3)Resident Evil 4

Easily the game of the year 2005, also probably the best game this generation. The Graphics are incredible on gamecube looking quite like what claims to be 'next-gen' with superb lighting and colour. But it's the gameplay thats the best. It plays like every game made of an action movie should: relentless, none stop action throughout. Incredible set pieces, a versatile combat system and some phenomenal enemy design  also help make this a winner :D

4) Lylat Wars / Star Fox 64

Perhaps on my list because it was the first video game i ever really owned. It's just pure addictive, arcade action from the word go. The perfect mix of action, superb graphics and again a superb, epic final boss. This is also in here because (i think) it's got just about THE most replayable single player a game has had.

5) Metroid Prime

This game only JUST beats Mario 64 to my 5th spot. The level design is incredible, the graphics (although no doubt they will slowly start ageing) are superb, yet again phenomenal boss and enemy design. Such variation in locations means i prefer it to Metriod Prime 2, although generic ( lava, ice, desert, etc) are executed with such flair; they are just amazing, awe- inspiring :D

So thats my list, with not a mario game insight :hmm:
Admittedly some very nearly made it, but i just prefer these
Also i've tended to go for single player over multiplayer

The most important thing to me in a game though has to be level design

1)Zelda OoT - Do I need to say anything more?
2)Jet Force Gemini - I think this was one majorly underrated game (still waiting for a sequel)
3)Goldeneye - My first N64 game (redefined console FPS's)
4)Super Mario Allstars - 4 incredible Mario titles on 1 cartridge
5)Super Metroid - IMO the best snes game (only beaten by Mario Allstars because Allstars packed in so many amazing Mario games.

I hate to include OoT in my top 5 list because it's simply unfair to all the other games on the list, but if i must then:

1 - Zelda: Ocarina of Time
2 - GoldenEye 64
3 - Metroid Prime
4 - Jet Force Gemini
5 - Mario Kart DS

Edit: Sayn i love you for putting JFG in the top five!

Edit 2: Other noteable memorable games that barely missed my Top 5 in no praticular order are: Metal Gear Solid (PSX,PC,GCN) - Super Mario World (SNES) - Super Mario 64 (N64, DS) - Zelda: Majoras Mask and Zelda: ALTTP - Final Fantasy VII, FFVIII and FFX, Turok 2: Seeds of evil, Myst, Perfect Dark, Halo: CE, Eternal Darkness!!! Body Harvest, SSBM, Advanced Wars, Medieval: Total War, Rome Total War, Total Anihalation, Age of Empries, Half Life, Soul Calibur, Sim City 3000, Mario Kart DS (I own two copies of it) and i'm sure i'm missing a few others...

I consider myself to be a 'vintage' gamer as I have witnessed the birth of videogames with Pong and Space Invaders, and I am still today an avid fan of console games. I've owned almost any console that was ever made, from the humble SNES, the heavily undervalued Saturn and Dreamcast, the rare Neo Geo, to the wonderful Gamecube. However, Nintendo has always offered that little something extra, something that distinguishes it from other game makers, and will therefore always remain my favourite. So here goes :
1. Legend of Zelda - A Link to the Past (SNES) : it might not have 3D-graphics and analog controls, but THIS is the greatest Zelda game ever ! :yay:
2. Super Mario All Stars (SNES)
3. Super Mario 64 (N64)
4. Goldeneye 64 (N64)
5. Metroid Prime (Gamecube)

1: Majora's Mask (N64)
Why? It is darker, it has improvements over Ocarina and was a much more orginal story. It really made me feel sad. And the levels where much nicer! To short though...

2: Yoshi's Island (SNES)
I prefer this over any Mario game. It is my favorite replay games. And "Touch Fizzy get Dizzy" I love and keep playing it! And still have not made world to 6-7 100

3: Super Mario 64 (N64)
When I saw this I could not believe video games where ever going to be nicer and better then this. And flying around in the game was the best 3D experience ever.

4: Pilot Wings (N64)
One of the most relaxing games ever. Well balanced and missed on the Cube. Can not imagine that this game will not be released on the Revo, with that controller!

5: Mario Kart 64 (N64)
Forget Mario Party. This is the only real multi player party game. All versions are excellent but the N64 version has the best battle mode. We played this forever!

But we also should do best "memories" of games. because that would be a different top 5....

1- Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask,

Reason: When i first heard the music for the last 6 hours before the moon would fall i realised that no matter how much you help the citizens of clock town unless someone stops the Skull Kid everyone would die. In perticular the woman in the inn waiting for her loved one to return but whom never came unless you went out and found him.

1. Super Mario 64 - Popped my 3D cherry on this one, spent most of the cold winter of 96 playing it on my Jap N64. A truly innovative masterpiece, the sheer scale of the achievement, in originality, variety and technological might earns it my best game ever, it will always hold a special place in my heart.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – I was put under a spell playing this game. It’s a rich, emotive experience that’s been crafted with love. An amazing game. Every videogamer should play this game, your can’t call yourself one unless you do.

3. Super Mario Kart – I am torn between SMK and the MKDS. SMK wins because it gave me a new gaming experience. I must have logged on over 500 hours playing this one. Battle mode is my fav!!

4. Goldeneye – What other game can you kill Robbie Coltrane in a deathmatch, enough said!!!

5. F Zero X – I loved this game, it’s mad fast paced action with awesome tracks, that runs at a smooth 60fps made this a game a must have. Deathrace was nuts too!!!

1:The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64) What can i say that has never been said before, nothing. This game was, and still is brilliant, ground breaking and magical. This was the first Zelda game in 3D, which was well worth the delays. I also own the soundtrack to this game, which is also awesome.

2:Goldeneye 007 (N64) This was my first FPS game in 3D, and it was awesome Single player mode rocked, my favourite level was the train and my worst level was Egyptian Temple. Multiplayer mode was great. I still remember using the invincible cheat during multiplayer mode and never dying no matter what was thrown my way.

3:Super Mario 64 (N64) The very first game i played on the N64, and still the best Mario game that i have ever played.

4:Metroid Prime (GC) The best looking game on the GC, and the best FPS on the GC by far.

5:Mario Kart DS (DS) I've played all Mario Kart games, and this one is the best one that Nintendo have created. First, because it is online and second it includes a mixture of new and old tracks from previous Mario Kart titles

I say..

1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) I love my other top 4 favorites but they don't come close to OOT.

2. Chrono Trigger (SNES) The only RPG I've really, really liked. Great story, gameplay, music.

3. Pikmin (GC) Very close to Chrono in my top 5. A very different game but very well done.

4. Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64) Lots of sidequests, very good game.

5. Super Mario Bros 3 (NES) One of my favorites, took the first SMB and added lots of great additions -- powerups, worlds, music, story, etc.

1) Super mario 64-The first and best 3-d platformer I ever played, its so great! the great bowser battles, brilliant level designs and music make it not just the best nintendo game of all time but the best game ever...IMO.
2) Banjo Kazooi - close rival to super mario 64, the cool bear and bird are the best double act in video games!
3) Donkey kong country 2 - WOW! this game was and still is absoloutly brilliant! Diddy and Dixie sure did well with this great game, the great water, fair ground and swamp levels were brilliant!
4) Donkey kong 64 - what a great sequel to a great 2-d platformer, all the great DK caracters are here, with cranky, diddy, funky kong and more along with new people such as chunky kong! From the brilliant beggining all the way through to the boxing match its an unfogettable game!
5) Diddy kong racing - the best racer ive played, brilliant levels, characters and more!

theyre my top 5 and I feel bad for not putting any GC games on there, SSBM was almost no.5 but not quite, so was windwaker and Ocarina of Time, it was a hard decision! So many great games :(

1. Ocarina of Time The first Zelda game I ever played, and one that could have so easily passed me by. For some reason, I didn't like the sound of it from reviews, but I borrowed it off a friend, and got completly hooked. The graphics, the puzzles, the story, the length, the interactivity... There was so much to do, and it never got boring. I don't think any game will ever surpass the feeling I had whilst playing this.

1.
Mario 64
N64

Ahh, memories. I had been entranced by the screenshots and stories of the game ever since they arose!
When I got Mario 64 I was hooked until I finished it. Superbly responsive controls, great gameplay-
Unexeprienced in 3D uptill then, Nintendo marks history making one of the most succesful transitions from 2D to 3D!

2.
Zelda: Ocarina of time
N64

Seemingly endless freedom in another succesful transition from 2D to 3D by Nintendo. The moment I got the game
I never stopped playing(literally, I'm afraid): the vast world, music and atmosphere along with great minigames made OOT a rich experience
not to forget. The amazing concept, executed with amazing congruency has been rarily rivalled even uptill today - in my humble
opinion, of course. Games like the recent Kameo compared to OOC, are hopelessly behind in design, and I don't say that for Nostalgia sake, nor bitter feelings towards Rare. ;)

3.
Super Smash brothers Melee
Gamecube

Wow! Nintendo HAL delivers an extremely polished and balanced game, and an uniquely strong combination of intuitive controls
and depth. These seemingly paradoxical factors work so well: tournaments of the game are held and I spent
so many hours with the game, that I lost count. Uptill now I still am always up for a go at a friend in this game.
Another classic.

Secret of Mana
SNES

An action RPG on the SNES which has such beautiful music and atmosphere. On the surface it may seem shallow
However, it depicts a cult atmosphere around the bad guy Thanatos quite effectively, which got me itnrigued early on.
Later on in the game the dragon you befriended rescues you, and from then on you can fly on him in quasi 3D and land 'anywhere'
in the world. For the time this was an absolutely stunning gameplay mode. As you get into the pre-last boss, Thanatos, your
jaw drops: a screenfilling, masterfully designed reaper, accompanied by the best boss music ever. Hell yeah!
After you defeat Thanatos you battle the Mana beast, untypically the game has a bit of a sad ending. Wow!
Quite amusing that it was only after I finished the game I was told the game could be played with two friends,
controlling everyone in your party.

5.
Chrono Trigger
SNES

What an amazing experience! Square houses some of the best videogame music composers, and Yasunori Mitsuda
provides truly epic music for the RPG. A true Square classic, the turned based combat is executed on the spot, rather
than transitioning to a theme-based background(i.e. in woods you get a few trees as background), which I find breaking
immersion and annoying. As soon as I found out how much this game was about timetravel, I was sold. The game is hailed
as on of the best classic console RPG's ever, and for good reason!

I'll keep mine as Nintendo developed game only because it'd get too difficult for me to choose taking third parties into account.

1. Super Metroid- Most atmospheric game ever made, beauty incarnated in game form, Nintendo's masterpiece for sure.

2. Link to the Past- Massive, epic adventure spanning 2 amazing worlds with some incredibly well made dungeons full of challening puzzles. The best Zelda easily to me.

3. Super Mario World- a slide of 2d Platforming heaven, plain and simple

4. Super Mario Brothers 3- yet another slice of the same thing, debatable whether it's as tasty, but I'll go this way just now.

5. Zelda: Majora's Mask- A very clever and well thought out game that does a great job stirring all kinds of emotions. Quality over quantity with dungeons, but what a level of quality they are, a hugely original and innovative title, an experience the likes of which is unlikely to ever be seen again. Beats out its predecessor in my opinion due to the amount of imagination and originality it contains.

2. [gcn] Metroid Prime
3. [n64] Smash Bros.
4. [n64] Mario Kart 64
5. [gbc] Mario Tennis

Well, this isn't really an easy task. There are so many good games that I have played on my nintendo systems, that it is almost unfair to pick just 5. Ah well, I'll put the ones that come to my mind right now:

Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

My... God...

Super Mario 64

The masterpiece that defined the standard of platform games. Superb.

F-Zero GX

I'm surprise to see that nobody mentioned this game. Fast-paced, beautiful, easy to play, difficult to master, great music (Mute City and Big Blue  ).

Star Wars - Rogue Squadron 3: Rebel Strike

One of the few games that gave me a true Star Wars feeling. Less difficult than Rogue Squadron 2, but still challenging enough to provide a better experience than the previous one. A great pollygon-pusher. The multi-player is awesome.

Resident Evil 4

Never liked the resident evil series. Until this game came out. Brilliant.

1-The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 'Nintendo 64'

Simply the best game ever created.

2-Super Mario 64 'Nintendo 64'

Simply AMAZING

The feeling of 3D in all it's glory.
I remember myself the first time I saw Super Mario 64 in action.
I was like 'that can't be real'
When I bought my Nintendo 64 with Mario I remember myself wakling and running around the castle for about 2 hours, doing.....nothing just walking and running, climbing on to the trees and swimming in the water.
For the first time in my life 2 hours of nothing where so fun.
Even today, almost 10 years later, Super Mario 64 is the king of platform games.

3-Super Mario Bros. 3 'NES'

Another masterpiece...
What can I say about this one?
The level design, the music, everything was so perfect...
Best 2D Mario and best 2D platform EVER.

4- Super Metroid 'SNES'
What a game!
That's what I say every time I see the Super Metroid logo.
One of the best SNES games 'if not the best'.

5- Chrono Trigger 'SNES'

Best RPG of the 16 bit era, end one of the best games of all time.

1. Ocarina of Time (The definitive epic adventure, videogames answer to Lord of the Rings)
2. Goldeneye (Superb singleplayer and a unforgetable multiplayer, all set in the Bond universe... mmmm.)
3. Zelda Wind Waker (Sunsets and map making on the high seas and a sword fight with Ganon! A very different but superb Zelda game)
4. Resident Evil 4 (Made me played a series that I traditionaly can't stand, a super game)
5. Metroid Prime (Isolation and awe, a great experience and update for a series that many thought couldn't make the transition to 3D)

Man that order is flawed im sure and I have had to leave out so many great games its untrue. :hmm: But in terms of classic experiences and actual great games I think all those games stand the test of time.

1. Tales of Symphonia (gc) - Great fun from begining to end, long, good story, fun battles, over all one great game.
2. Metriod Prime (gc)
3. Super Smash Brothers Melee (gc)
4. Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (n64)
5. Super Mario Bros. 3 (nes)

This is one of the hardest lists I ever had to think up. There are just so many other great games and they all should be in the top 5. 5 just feel so limiting.

I have to say, when I mention these games I actually mean the whole damn franchise!! But since we can only name one game each....:
1. Super Metroid, SNES - Dunno how many times I've played each of the Metroid games over and over. Metroid II is the only one I haven't completed :-)

2. Legend of Zelda: OOT, N64 - Does anything more need to be said about these games?

3. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, GC - The best in the series for me, I just got it 2 weeks ago and I'm loving it. The others were great but this one is magical! Can't wait for FE:Revo!!

4. Super Mario Kart, SNES - The beginning of the franchise for me. Hence I love it more than any other!

5. Super Mario Brothers, NES - This is the game that actually turned me into a real gamer. Finally a real game with a proper goal, different looking worlds and actions (running, jumping, breaking, shooting, swimming...), great addictive music and powerups that lasted more than 5 seconds!!! If it hadn't been for you Mario, I don't know what I'd be!

1. Pokemon Silver (Generally Gold/Silver/Crystal)
It made me get crazy (just like with all Pokemon Games). Played from more than 700 hours, collected all 251 Pokemon, had thousend of battles. Breeded many Pokemon and had the most fun in my life.
The World was the best of all others. Johto had many mysteries to reveal just like Kanto. The game was the hardest to beat (meaning the adventure) since it had 16 badges to get. All 251 Pokemon wasn't so easy to catch. Movesets were updated much better that the old ones. New Pokemon had new abilities and the day/night feature was really interesting.
The best RPG and the best Game ever in my opinion.

2.Pokemon Red (Generally Red/Blue/Yellow)
Some things cannot change, just like Pokemon. Cool as very first idea, well-made and interesting.

3.The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker
4.Super Smash Bros. Melee
5.Resident Evil 4

1) Super Mario Bros. Definitely the best game i´ve ever played and the one that showed me that there are a new world inside a little box and a little cartridge wish i have never got tired of. And I think Mario it´s the best saga in this huge world (mario 2, 3, world, 64, yoshi´s,kart, tennis, etc), but anyway i´m gonna vote for some other games that deserve a vote too.
2) The legend of zelda: Ocarina of time (even though the first game of this saga that really kept me in its world was a link to the past, ocarina of time definitely changed the way I see hyrule)
3) Super Smash Brothers Melee (It´s almost like if everybody have forgotten that there was the game of the N64 wich was really amazing, but anyway its secuel really kicked it off and got perfect in every single aspect, definitely my most played game of the gc)
4) Wario Wario Touched (Maybe many of u disagree with this vote (and maybe many haven´t even played it) but after about 20 years in this world I just bought that game and made me remember why I`m still playing: "For having fun with my family", this jewel seems to be really simple (and actually it is) but it´s one of the reasons that made me enjoy it for several ours, it doesn´t have the best graphics or sounds but it´s simply incredible what it can do only with a stylus, a touch screen and a microphone, I can only say:"Nintendo u still rock and I hope u keep this way for many years more"
5)Pokemon: green leaf. This game hasn´t obtain its fame only by lucky, is definitely a great game because it changed the style of a playing a game, and even with its easily gaming, it really makes me really happy when I capture a new pokemon.
Maybe for some of u my list is really dull, but remember videogames are for having fun, not to be worried about (at least that´s the way I see them) That`s why I have many years buying them, and I´m really loyal to the big N.
By the way i´m sorry about my english but i´m a spanish speaker

1) Perfect Dark-
Goldeneye was good. This is better, bigger, shinier and more fun. The most accessible FPS I've ever played.

2) Ocarina of Time-
Nothing could have prepared me for stepping out into Hyrule field for the 1st time. Better than actually going outside. Still one of the best games ever.....

3) Super Mario Bros. 3-
We finally forgave Nintendo for the monster that was Mario 2. (Foolish) People are still paying 30 quid for this on the GBA.

4) Mario Kart DS-
Is it too early to list this? I don't think so. Almost perfect.

5) Tetris-(Gameboy)
Come on people. Why no votes for tetris  The still undisputed champion of puzzle. And those catchy catchy in game tunes. Dee Dee Dee Dee Dee Dee Dee Dee Dee Dee etc.

This is one heck of a difficult question, but well, let's get it on:

1.Tales Of Symphonia:This game simply has it all:Awesome graphics,Great Sound,Great Story,An awesome battle system that makes even rpg haters want to play it,and above all Awesome character developpement and 'player implication'.
It just feels good when the game doesn't progress in the same way according to your choices.Near Perfection IMO.*

2.Metroid Prime:This game simply rocks:Awesome Graphics,Awesome Sound,Awesome Atmosphere, and coming from someone who hates fps with a passion (although it isn't an fps in the true sense),that's a lot.

3.Super Smash Bros. Melee:This game has 'Multiplayer Fun' written all over it.And even better is that it doesn't s*ck in single-player mode. This game is simply awesome.

4.Pokemon Silver:The one rpg (or the one game for that matter) that shows that even in this 3D generation,a game can still kick lots of ass without having state-of-the -art graphics(heck, this game even had oldie graphics).Plus, the game itself really kicks ass, cause it's so much fun and so much deeper than at first glance.

5.Resident Evil 4:For a hater of surivival horrors like me (i hate them even more than fps,and that says something),this game really blowed me away.
It has the kind of atmosphere that really makes feel like you're IN the action, and not just playing.

Well, that leaves a lot of games out of my list, such as Metroid Fusion,Soul Calibur 2,Chrono Trigger,Golden Sun,Fire Emblem:The Sacred Stones and half a dozen other games i can't remember right now,but well...
