I can't believe it. I went outside like five minutes ago and it was clear blue skies and sunny. Now it's snowing so much, I can't see anything outside. It's amazing! White Christmas FTW!

I was in the kitchen about to make myself a drink, and my brother comes in shouting It's snooooowwwwiiiing.

I went outside, and there indeed was snow. But, it was the most pathetic snow you've ever seen. There were maybe 3 drops of snow, and then five minutes later it stopped. :(

Why couldn't it be the other way around. Where it stops for 5 minutes and then carries on for the rest of the day? Maybe in some sort of parallel universe maybe.

And I just sneezed all over my monitor. This is a sad day.

It snowed really heavily today for about 10 minutes. It covered most things, but then it buggered off as quickly as it came. Boo.

Was quite icy this morning. I got the car a bit unintentionally (ok maybe a bit intentional) sideways. Almost went arse over tit on the way to the car and again on my way into work as well.

Sheffield had a few snow blitzes - but I was cooped up for each! I got to work for 1, then saw daylight at 4, and missed snow. Then next saw the outside at 7 and had missed another round of snow!

Fucking cold though.

We had some snow this end as well, not much as it blew over quick.

I'm not fussed to be fair, when i lived out in Germany we had the proper stuff. Not this flimsy stuff that is always wet and slippy. At least the stuff in Germany was dry and excellent to walk upon.

So I've had quite a bit of snow this evening and tonight (really nice walking back home at midnight in the snow).

Hopefully tomorrow there will be lots of snow in the day because there's this house about half an hour away from me that's dilapidated which I came across in Sept. I've wanted to take a picture of it when it's all snowed in for a while now.

Thanks, it's indeed a great view. Bought a camera earlier this year, but this is the first time I have been home since I bought it so I thought I would take some pictures of the town and the surroundings. I'll see if I find that town thread and bump it later :)

Because of the snow, my parents don't think that they'll be able to pick me up for Christmas, instead I may have to get the train there (and I have too much stuff to take on the train).

The odd thing is that it's probably much more dangerous for them to pick me up form the train station. If they're coming from Wales to Stockport than the main road (which will be fully gritted and looked after) out of Wales is literally a minute from their house. If they're picking me up from the train station then they'll be on small country/town roads for an hour, which will be last on the list for gritting.

A few days ago it snowed like crazy all over the country, except for where I live. But today I wake up to a huuuuuge white carpet outside (opened my window and snow fell in haha). It's still snowing right, wonder when it will stop.

Tuesday Few Snow Showers
High: 0° Low: -4°

Wednesday Partly Cloudy

Its really bad to drive on so ill just let you guys into somethings ive found which make it much easier to drive in these conditions.
-Set off in second gear where you can.
-Feather your brakes instead of slamming them on.
-Drive at a speed your comfy with.
-Dont let anyone bully you.
-If your wheels just spin, stop and set off slower.
-Avoid icy routes (even if it means take the long way).
-Most of all dont panic.

Has anyone here had any mishaps yet?

We had PROPER snow just now, for about two hours -- the really fine stuff. People keep talking about inches of snow and whatever, but I'd say we've never had more than a solirary inch worth here in sheffield (unless there's been greater downfalls in my sleep, which is likely!).

This Christmas has been so amazing. I caught the National Express from Newport to London, and I just had my face stuck to the window for most of the journey. Firstly, there were little patches of snow, but it gradually seemed to get thicker and more frequent the further south we travelled.

We got into London, and then I caught my next coach to Brighton. I actually asked the Driver to let me off early, before I got to Preston Park. The whole park was covered in snow. Thick snow. ACTUAL snow! I walked through it, carrying my heavy bag, with a huge smile of my face. :D

I took two pictures, which I'll post later when I upload them. There were some lads also playing football in the snow, haha. I wanted to join in.

Snow is awesome. I can't help but see how far I can slide along it on my way home.

We had PROPER snow just now, for about two hours -- the really fine stuff. People keep talking about inches of snow and whatever, but I'd say we've never had more than a solirary inch worth here in sheffield (unless there's been greater downfalls in my sleep, which is likely!).

Snow does make me feel all happy-for-no-reason. Is it bad that I want it to snow so bad we're all trapped in our houses 'til january?
I keep wanting the same thing, but at the same time i see the downsides.
Would be cool, but get boring.

This is a photo of my two friends (who I stayed with) having a snow ball fight on The Level. :D At this point, my hands were freezing because I was throwing snow balls without gloves on. So, I took a break and took a few photos.

We had snow xmas eve....then we had pouring fucking rain all day on xmas. Melted all the snow, but not before turning it all into slick sheets of ice.

The snow didn't melt on Christmas and it has been snowing like crazy ever since. Don't think we have had this much snow in many years. The climate is usually very mild here so it only last a few days before it rains for a couple weeks then repeat. Now we have had snow on various levels since the 18th. Was the global warming thing supposed to change the gulf stream in any way?

I've barely been in Uni this week due to snow...and apparently there's heavy snow showers due for 3AM tomorrow morning. Ohh... it was so cold walking back today. Apparently last night temperatures reached -16 nearby which is insane. The snow is so deep here in Manchester - I've never seen anything like it!

News saying today that because of the shabtastic snow, some exams can't go ahead, being pimped back to the summer, but for those who have finals around now, if it isn't going on they're pretty much going to get a free pass, being judged on work during the term. Well fair on those who have revised to the max over the winter holiday.

Is this for real? So people get to pass without doing anything? Hardly fair I'd say... Why can't they just put the exams on some other days a week or two from now? =/

Yeah... I really doubt they just "pass".

At most they get a grade based on previous/other exams taken at the same period or based on coursework.

Either way the system fails.

Pickering (Where I live) was just on BBC News (Not the local one, the main one). I love so much. "We almost didn't make it here today, the roads are that terrible. We spoke to one resident who said 'it's like relatives at Christmas. It's out stayed its welcome".

We're forecast another 12cm of snow tonight, it's terrifying. We had 8 inches last night.

The Snow is getting annoying now in London. We have lots of hard icey snow bits causing havoc. So it either needs to dry up and go or there needs to be some nice new fluffy so coming down heavy to give me some proper snow to play with.

Commuting to work all week was a joke with the trains. I want a snow day off. So bring it Mr Cloud.

Weather report can't make it's mind up. Snow is more likely to fall in the high grounds, where the low grounds (where i am) is expected to get rain or sleet.

Should be interesting anyway, and snow isn't meant to last long.

Edit: Well, it's going to be interesting tomorrow. Reasonable until lunch-time, then snow/sleet until late/into the morning. It's as i said, the weather cannot make it's mind up. BBC Wales says one thing, BBC in general says a different thing.

Guildford is currently snow-free, which makes a nice change. I haven't spoken to my folks recently, but, whenever it snows, my home town of Harpenden gets it the most in the south east. What's the furthest south it's gotten to this time? Northamptonshire is the closest I've heard.
