I had the same idea for Super Monkey Ball...except you put it in a hamster ball like thing. Could also work for Katamari.

You move the thing (I presume it is the 'Wiiwaa' in question?) as if it was walking. You know, like you do with toys. Pick em up a bit on one side and move it forward and plonk its leg down, repeat with the other side and just keep doing that.
