I doubt we'll even see a DS Advance (which I am assuming you're saying) until E3 at the very EARLIEST. With the release next Chrimbo. Even that would be well early, but alongside Micro and Revolution it does stand out as the least cool looking combo.

hmmm why would they?

Why change the NDS because of Rev controller?

Why change the DS FULL STOP It's already perfection.

They will update the DS by giving a free monkey away with each game purchased. This monkey will cater for your every needs, even the sexual ones.

maybe he means expansions through the gba port...

well... it was designed for that (it says so in the manual), it kinda resembles revo controller in that...

if that's what you were thinking... kind of... but still wrong...
Not really new controllers but enhancements in games like the rumble pack acessory in metroid pinball, I guess more add-on solutions like Kirby Tilt n'Trouble, Yoshi Topsy Turvy or Wario Ware Twisted are possible.

but if he means that... i'd say... dont count on it, even if they happen they wont become standard in DS, only few games will use it, like DK Bonga uses the Bongos, or Mario Party 6 uses a microphone.

I'm sorry.. Triple C? You copied someone's work to come up with that?
I'm not sure whether I should be mad at you for nicking someones work or mad at the person who originaly come up with that stuff.

Anywho on topic.
Why on earth update the DS yet? There's no need at all. Graphics wise yes I'm sure we would all agree we'd love the PSP's graphical power but other than that everything about the DS doesn't really need updating.

Tilt sencors. and plugebel analog stick maybe.

It was just a tought. ps there wil be a new vertion of the DS or GBA verry soon. i think we will hear of it at the E3 2006 or SW 2006.

There wont be another ds, possibly down the line they might shrink like nintendo do to anyother handheld or try to milk it dry, but i doubt a new input method will be added, nothing drastic anyway.

that may still be on the pipeline

other than that... a redesigned DS might appear and I think they'll do it, I mean... I have problems playing in the sunlight because the screen protectors are too reflective, it could be more ergonomic and the colors could be even better with more contrast, besides revamped consoles always sell well.

but they'll never add new functions to the standard, unless it's DS2 but that won't happen in, at least, 5 years time

I really doubt they'll alter the design of the DS at this moment in time.

However, if they were to change it, i would like them to come up with a slightly sleeker (sleekier?) design.

Theres really no need to change it. Its just a waste of time for Nintendo

no need now because it's new, but in 2, 3 years from now when the console is getting old to the market, revamping it gives that fresh feel that keeps consoles selling, just like it's happening now with GBA micro and hapened with SP previously.

Nintendo realy likes to be moving in the hand held industry. just look what hapend right after the GBA. in just a smal 2 years we had the GBA SP and now we got the GBA Micro so why wont they do the same whith the DS. even the DS can be bether. something like an bild in Play Jan, new paint job (one who doesnt scratsh when you scratsh it whith your finger nails) wel and like pedrocasilva sayed the reflecting screens bug me alot to.

But even so i stil love my DS

Sooner or later, Nintendo will probably update the DS, but I doubt they'll do it soon. Perhaps E3 2006. And if/when they do, I think they'll make it thinner. Perhaps add in some kind of bilinear filtering. But probably just a design change.

yes, but the only reason we even got the SP was because people were having a really hard time seeing the screen because it was so dark...

Yeah Ninty really messed up with the original GBA screen not being lit. The SP was desperately needed to fix such a bad mistake
