Almost certainly, someone else sold just a photo of an xbox 360 using a similar method and spent a good chunk of the money before the account was frozen and the guy threatened to kill him.

Obviously the winner is never going to pay up - why would anyone bid that much when you can get the system for half the price brand new? Someone probably did it just so that they could send an email saying 'ha, ha, you thought you were going to make a bunch of money from some sucker, but now you're just left with listing fees'.
