Personally I refer to it as Winter Festival.

I've bought a present for my gf, but nothing else just yet. I hope to get it all sorted out online very soon.

For me I can't decide if I'll ask my folks to chip in and help me get a 360 or if I'll get Animal Crossing on the DS and a couple of bits and bobs.

I'm living away from my parents, so there's no christmas spirit or decoration in this house. I'll see if I can get some money to buy something for my parents and I'm going to ask for Mario & Luigi, maybe Santa can hear me :)

Not done any shopping yet, need to find time to. Trying to organise it with friends but its going nowhere fast. And as far as a list it consists of the following so far;

Sarah McLachlan - Surfacing
Rufus Wainwright - Want
The Movies
The £33 PS2 I got a month ago and is sat in my room

If santa is feeling really generous I'd like my PC back too.

Bah humbug.

I dont get into the spirit until the 15th. .

I'm with you on this one, Foxy. No Christmas tree until the weekend closest to the 15th. Christmas music is acceptable at the start of December though.

Putting a tree up now is way too early, even if it is the first Sunday of advent, wait until December, at least.

I've now decided I want a new phone. There's no way I'll be getting an Xbox 360 or iPod Video, they're just too expensive. :(

This year im getting Mario kart ds! havent thought of anything else though. :( I mite start christmas shopping tomorrow, althogh its probly gonna be tuesday, im getting choclates for most of my friends and for my best friend im getting a lightening lava lamp, theyre new, look in the new argos! I was planning on getting viewtiful joe double trouble for chrristmas too but it seems its not out until january. :( Oh well, its gonna be a very merry christmas! We put our tree up the weekend closest 15th aswell. Didn't realise anyone else did that. So far I've bought:

and soon I'll be getting:

Soul Calibur 3 for my brother
Some crappy PC FPS for onw of my friends
Some crappy PS2 FPS for another one of my friends
Some crappy Country CD for my Dad
Some great Nightmare Before Christmas cutlery set for one of my friends
I'm making a Big Book of Hot Bassists for one of my friends
A bag and Pokemon Leaf Green for my gf

That should do...

And for me:

A Camcorder

I haven't got anyone anything yet and don't have a clue what I'm getting them.

So I've decided to be simple (and cheap) and only spend thought on my girlfriends present and buy everyone else chocolates.

Ahh Christmas has come at the worst time. I now have to buy a ton of presents (well cheap things for my family :heh: ) and have no money. I thought about giving my mum a CD I downloaded from the computer but then I might look cheap. Especially if she gets me something expensive and I've ended up spending 50p on a blank CD to burn it onto

awk but gettin into the christmas spirit is fun :heh:

i got all my presents bought a month ago, spent a damn fortune - about £70 per person. i didn't really want much tho, just a few cds or sumthin would do me rightly.

Sure, there's getting into the Christmas spirit, but then there's also getting sucked into what Christmas is steadily becoming - a masquerade for commercialism. If it wasn't for high-street stores starting their Christmas advertising so early every year, Christmas wouldn't even be on anyone's minds until at least December.

We usually put the tree up on Christmas Eve, or the 23rd. And it's always a real tree; none of that fake plastic nonsense. ;)

I don't think mums much care how much you spend, she might like it more because you've made it. Or buy her something small too...

Nah, we just don't like to prolong Christmas. It's more fun that way, as it's much easier to get into the spirit, and in a way it's much less anticlimatical.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to understate the importance of Christmas or anything. I mean, I'm a Christian myself, and as such it is of particular significance for me because it symbolises so much. I guess that's at the root of my bitterness really. With all the commercialism of Christmas (and Easter), these festivals lose all their meaning to society, and that's something that I find quite saddening.

No tree up yet until at least after Sinterklaas, which is on December 6. Been putting up a plastic tree the last couple of years, because my mom was getting tired of the needles that kept falling on the ground from the real tree. I don't mind the plastic tree, it looks nice too.

Haven't bought anything yet, though I'm looking around for possible presents.
And this is my list of things I'm asking:

-Kirby: Power Paintbrush (will probably get this from my parents)
-Starsailor's Silence is Easy cd (will probably get this from one of my sisters)
-Black & White 2 (doubt I'll get this)
-Copic Markers (not even sure they know what these are)
-a gift voucher thingie from an art store here

Not quite yet in the Christmas spirit, seeing as it's a bit too early for that, even though my mom's family will be holding a Christmas reunion on the 18th, just because everyone will be gone/busy on the 25th. So yeah.

Jordan, what model is that, i can't find it on Creatives site, can only find another model, but that ones looks nicer :(

E: well, top of my list is either this (http://www.guitartek.com/product_info.php?cPath=14_26&products_id=556
) or this (http://www.guitartek.com/product_info.php?cPath=14_26&products_id=569
).

i haven't decided yet, and i'm gonna donate £50 to the cause since £250 is a rather large amount.

If i can't get a bass, i'm gonna try and get a Creative Zen Sleek.

Thats preperation really.

I was thinking about it and I get paid next week some time from Sports World, then on the 9th from Game and the 23rd from Game again. Shame I'll be at work Xmas eve, as the pay cheque on the 23rd will be sweet. 80 hours worth (and thats just 2 weeks).

Oh i love christmas :D

ITS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR!

The partys, the food (always having more than you need) the alcohol, giving presents, reciving presents, unwrapping presents, new years, the birth of jesus, the cold weather (i love wrapping up warm), the possibility of snow and spending time with family.

To not enjoy christmas you must have A have sold your soul or B have a non working heart. :santa:

The Christmas Tree normally goes up about two weeks into December at this residence. About the right time imo, not too early, not too late. Comes down around the 6th btw.

The Christmas list consists of
Games
Mario and Luigi 2
Osu Take Quendan(maybe)
Dongle

DVDs
Lost Part 1
or
24
Simpsons Season 3
or
Futurama Season 2

Books
Manga 60 Sixty Years

Full Metal Alchemist Vols 3 and 4
Real Ultimate Power: The Ninja Book
Zombie Survival Guide
Half Life 2: Raising the Bar

I've got one more present to buy.

This years main presents I've asked for are an Arsenal Red Membership and a 5G iPod, both of which I know I'll be getting. Some how I find Christmas not so surprising anymore.

We put our tree up around the 10th of December time, which I think is not too early or too late, anything before December though is just extreme in my opinion. Its good to do Christmas shopping early so you can get the right gifts, nothing worse than disappointment on Christmas Day.

Interesting bit of trivia for everyone. Nowhere in scripture does it say that there were three kings. 'Wise men' is the term used, which means more than one and the gifts given indicate richness.

A further bit of info, for one of my primary school nativity plays I played the role of the wise man giving the gift of gold, which was an empty box of dates spray-painted and with some fruit gums stuck to the lid. The two other wise men were my friends Eric and Ollie!

I'm fine actually I am Ollie AND Eric yep thats right I had a suffix change! Anyway yeh I'm fine still handing out gifts to people, of course its all dependent on how much 'free time' my doctor lets me have to meet other people.

In sainer news I want the following.

Digital Radio.
A suit!
Blondie AND Madness Best of.
Fire Ebelam.
Calvin and Hobbes collection.
DS and Mario Kart.
Manhatten on DVD.
Headphones.

If you guys could get me this stuff I would make sure you got a place on the next para olympics team. Of course I would have to remove your leg first, that would disable you from competing.
