on Saturday, a Revolution Developer Roundtable wherein Karthik Bala of Vicarious Visions, Eric Holmes from Radical Entertainment, and Tom Fulp, co-creator of Alien Hominid, discuss the good, the bad, and the ugly of developing for Nintendo's Revolution.

Announcing Mario 128? Its already been announced for revolution! Did you mean reveal though, because I highly doubt it, its a sorta E3 game.

Im confident it could be a current appearance of the shell and maybe the revolution name, but some reports are saying there might be some game details, example: Games in development and maybe some screenies.

I don't think it'll be much. Nintendo will probably just reveal the name and reveal a few specs. I expect it to be a disappointment, if I'm being honest.

You know there won't be anything there and yet expect it to be disapointing. interesting line of thought...
Anyway, agree don't get your hopes up, they might reveal some snippets but that's it.

I think they should show the demo's from TGS too (not behind closed doors this time) but I don't think it'll happen.

Hopefully they will show us some tech demos at the least (you know the ones IGN and co. played). I'm not expecting to much, but I really hope Shigsy tells us some stuff we don't actually know instead of recycling old stuff...

A moose or mousse? Because if he did that he would have a lot of problemens getting in to Canada or scandinavia for that matter. :heh:

BTTP: I think the true name will be revealed. The shell and a few tech demos. Plus shiggy is going to give some more game ideas to the crowd. This so developers get more of an idea what is still possible and has not yet been thought of. Because dev's still don't know how to implement the contollers into a game without it becomming a gimmick or a minigame. :indeed:

Me thinks

1. Shigsy will enter the stage in a very dramatic way,,,
2. Reveal the name
3. Shell is a possibility... seeing as Ninty loves saying about how they know everything and that we know nothing and that they are god and we will never know what the hell is happening with the revolution until its in our living room.
4. I personally think a couple of tech demos is quite likely. We have seen NOTHING of the Revolution at the moment... and this would be a good time to make the 'average consumer' second guess getting an Xbox360

Are we just talking about him revealing revolution stuff or anything else im confused. Anyways i really canm't see Shigsy saying or showing anything of huge importance, he'll probably enter in a dramatic way, talk about how nintendo are revolutionising things, reveal a few little tidbits of info about games on the revo and possibly a few other little things about the revolution. Nothing of huge importance though as their won't be as much hype around the speech they will save the more important stuff for a much more 'important' event.

i got a change of opinion, and that is that Shigsy isnt going to reveal much at all.
Seeing as "everything will be revealed" on May 19th, it will only be something minor to entertain the masses.

but anyway i hope he shows us some gameplay footage at the very least dont care even if a tech demo.
What would be cool thou is him showing us playing a game on it hense showing a example of how the controller will work on games.

I think the shell will be shown as the controller has already. i think a good move would be their pricing strategy. if they did that the day the 360 is launched it might make people think twice about buying 1. especially if he comes out and says the rev will be the cheapest next gen console.

the official name so people are talking about the ?????? instead of the revolution for the next 9 months or so.

If Nintendo want people to still want the Revolution, the should lift the lid and release some info. Allthough Mario 128 will (or will it) be a Revolution game, they should also give out some more info about the machine, not wait until May.
Stupid move to get the lid shut SO long.

I don't think they need to release any information about the revolution until E3.
they may release something new, but I doubt it. but then they did say there was more to come. but I would be surprised if anything more than speculation and over analysis came out of it. pleasantly surprised perhaps.

There gonna announce the name of the Revolution will in fact be called the Revolution! theres just been to much media on it for them to change the name. plus then IGN can get a goddam site up for it. seriousley they do need to drop some sort of bomb to deflect the 360 hogging the headlines.

I don't really care about revolution as of yet, they said no footage till next year, and they have to blow the cover in E3, so they won't want to spoil much of it, some graphics demo's or specs would be great but unlikely, so don't get your hopes up.
The only thing I want... is a new Zelda TP trailer and screenshots, I really think they should release one to counter the hype some games on xbox 360 are getting for graphics alone, counter it with real gameplay genius :P but even that... I don't know if we will see a new trailer this year (darn you nintendo)

I can't wait to play it, but i'm not overly excited yet, i will be soon hopefully! I think it's because i know it won't be out to Q3 2006 and i can't think that far ahead!

Ok, I found this on another forum, its an article (http://www.video-fenky.com/features/miyamoto.html) from a university lecture that he did a few years ago . I would expect that the lecture that he did today would have been the more of the same.

Interesting read nevertheless.

Valve are to release the highly anticipated Half-Life 2 on all consoles.

While Nintendo and Sony have yet to release information about their next consoles Valve have confirmed they are working on Half-Life 2 for them.

The game is set to launch on the PC later this year and the Xbox soon after. Valve have now stated that they plan to launch Half-Life 2 on the PS3 and 'GameCube 2'.

Speaking recently with Vossey.com, Doug Lombardi, marketing director of Valve, let slip that Half Life 2 will be available to Nintendo gamers in the future.

Vossey.com : Will Half-Life 2 be released on other platforms?

DL : Yes, notably on Xbox. The game will be available on Xbox but not until 2004. The partnership with Microsoft isn’t exclusive and we will also see this game on the next consoles by Sony and Nintendo.

So there you have it, not a GameCube game but looking like an early title for Nintendo's next system, currently known as N5. Dare we suggest it may even be a possible launch game for the system? The dates point to it being a real possibility, and it would certainly be a great piece of first day software. I think.. said that there's a big possibility that they might kept that intentions alive, it was so long ago everyone forgot, but... they really stated PS3 and Gamecube 2/N5 (at the time), the next gen consoles that are yet to come out by the two companies...

It's quite annoying when people get disappointed at a lack of an announcement when Nintendo have already made it clear that nothing more will be revealed until E3. Personally, I hope the secret is the force feedback rumour from ages ago.

Thing is, with no major news or exposure it really is playing into microsofts hands!!! They are going to have such a lead!!!

I would hate it if it was a headset but this is ridiulous, it would be very expensive and nintendo is BIG on multiplayer gaming!

Yeah this is what gets me the most. Xbox360 has launched and what is currently keeping us at bay from buying it? The PS3 FMV videos? The fact Rev has a controller like a remote control? In other words.. not much

About 6 years. The next few games will be expansions. The first one is out Feb, Half-Life 2: Aftermath ;)

Although Valve is giving us freebies such as CS Source maps, models and DoD: Source maps. As well as the SiN episodes coming soon :)

Valve, it turns out, is looking to expand beyond the FPS genre. “We’re working on cooperative building games,” he says. For example, you build something like a space ship or a machine with people online instead of shooting and killing each other.

Hamamura-san, the President of Enterbrain (Famitsu’s parent company), asks Kojima if playing the Metal Gear Solid 4 will be anything like the trailer. The director replies saying “of course, of course” smiling. I can’t help but smile too. Kojima comes off as such as fun-loving guy.

“People’s idea that video games were American grade school kids with their face pressed up against the TV made us want to design the new controller,” Miyamoto says. Walker nods as the rotund man whispers, while Kojima sits there looking at the floor. Bushnell’s holding that mic. “Boring things,” Miyamoto says, “will become interesting. But, I can’t say any more.”

“What kind of game would you like to design for the Revolution?” Hamamura-san asks Robin Walker. “There’s a couple I could think of, but I’m not really sure, because I haven’t seen the console.”

Miyamoto smiles.

“What about you?” Hamamura-san asks, turning to Kojima-kantoku.
“He’d like to design a game that makes him popular with girls,” Miyamoto quips.
Cracking up, Kojima says, “I haven’t decided.”
“That was a joke,” Miyamoto says. “What would you really like to design?”
Kojima says something about using analog. “I can’t really say,” he adds, still laughing.

every developer is acting like they do not have dev kits and know nothing about the console, reckon Nintendo has strict NDA's on them. Even to the point of admitting knowing too much about the revolutionary features, hence Kojima looking down when miyamoto is hinting, ( he did not want any of his facial expression to be misunderstood- i.e. if he got a bit giddy, he would look too pally with Nintendo).

Maybe i'm going in too deep with theories. :indeed: Miyamoto keeps hinting that we are breaking free from being stuck in the TV, maybe the projection idea???
