Just seen a Mario Strikers advert on Channel 4 during T4. Also seen Nintendogs adverts during prime time on Channel 4, ITV 1 and digital channels. Not to mention the Mario Kart DS taxi promo being plastered on the front page of every Metro newspaper across London.

They're really going for it this Christmas! Any other TV or print ads spotted?

I'm willing to bet the Mario Karts will sell big this holiday, unless people are stupid. DS is the obvious handheld choice with so many new games hitting at this point - we're really getting some kiL14r 4ppz this holiday season. Shame the GameCube is pretty dead.

Don't you say that. Don't you ever say that. Stay here. Stay here as long as you can. For the love of God, cherish it. You have to cherish it.

I saw a Nintendo sponsered tramp yesterday. Apparently they're given Special Brew and tins of beans by Nintendo as long as they promise to follow the first person that walks past each morning screaming and swearing at them until they buy a DS and Mario Kart.

I had to drive my tramp home and show him my copy of each before he'd stop abusing me.

(The above isn't actually true, but in a perfect world it would be).

... On the subject of ads, I haven't seen loads, but I've watched very little TV since getting home. Peep Show last night was great though.

In the US I saw the Mario Kart ad a few times, and a lot of pretty good 360 ads.

Mario Soccer ad is on CITV alot. Nintendogs ads are really everywhere, shame Nintendo can't get enough Nintendog games, and I've seen the MKDS ad afew times, hopefully they'll show it more now that it's actually out.

I contemplate my collection and my memories and you know, the GameCube was pretty swell.

Yea i saw the mario soccer smash or whatever it called ad, i thought it was pretty crap, with other massively hyped soccer games out i dont think it'll sell all that well.

Should have spent the money elsewhere

At least consumers will be aware of its existance, though. The ad will definitely help sales quite a bit. Games like this are coming out way too late in the Gamecube's lifespan.

I saw a Nintendo advert last night, I was surprised to see it. I hardly watch any TV at all, and the time I do I saw the MK ad :)

I see the constant sponsors for C4 comedy, plus I saw the Mario Kart ad at some point yesterday but forgot which channel. Though i'm also noticing places like Woolworths and Argos advertising the console, that so wouldn't have happened with the GC so they must be doing something right. All we need now is more shelf space.

No one else seen the add for Mario baseball yet then?
It has some guy in a Bowser suit striking out to one of those pitching machines, and then he jumps on it.

I've spotted an ad on TV. First it was about Pokemon XD and then it mentioned the Mario Kart bundle and the wi-fi connection. It was a nice ad if you ask me.

And the Pokemon Emerald ads have been on for awhile aswell. Nintendo must be spending big bucks for these ads, hopfully they'll get alot of sales and the DS will pwn this Xmas.

I've seen plenty of adverts for the new Pokemon probably-not-a-proper-RPG, on E4 mostly. When I'm approached while playing on my DS, people often reference the old Channel 4 ads. So they worked.

The Mario Kart advert was really well done. Actually, there's a lot of video game adverts airing right now, which is probably to be expected. Mostly EA stuff.

NOE's marketting has really learnt from its mistakes and has improved dramatically, and as a result DS is one of the hottest selling products right now in Europe. Okay, so Nintendo should of always been like this with cube but at least they're working hard now and DS is selling excellent and gives hope that the Revolution will be marketted well.

Saw the Nintendogs ad and an ad for Game Boy Micro in my local shopping centre. Things are finally beginning to turn around for Nintendo.

Aye, I thought it was a bit random. Didn't really promote or tell you much abuot the product. Guess Sony are hoping by just ushering the words "playstation portable" will sell it :/

The PSP advert is really well done. That's just fanboy speak.

I hear adverts...I never see them.
I'll be in bed and hear it on the TV when my parents are watching, or I'll be on the computer and miss it cos the Cube ones are pretty short.

"Get a load of these salt levels"

And yes; the words PlayStation will sell the PSP

Thats not the point of ads though. It just lets people know that it exists, nothing there about what it does, things like that. The nintendo ads make people want to but it. When i first saw the ad for meteos i thoguht, woah i want that game

In the psp adits more like, woah i want a giant clump of red objects that can move about

sony have always used weird advertising remember this one (http://www.visit4info.com/details.cfm?adid=10756&type=coolad)? it draws the more attention if your adverts make the viewer think, rather than just tell them to buy something, and it's worked wonders for sony so far.

I've seen nintendogs, mario baseball and geist. I also agee on the PSP one when I saw it I just went WTF :/ I guess its not as bad as the first PS2 ads though men with ducks head and crap and saying welcome to the third place they just melted my head.

I've seen in the past 3 days:
6 Nintendog's adverts
3 Mario Kart DS adverts.

And I don't even watch that much TV at all. Just Sky One.

I don't see why Nintendo are doing so much advertising for the DS. Sure, there's Mario Kart. But Nintendogs?

I can only really speak to the GAME I work in, and the others in the region, but nobody can get hold of Nintendogs for love more money. The same goes for all game shops (such as GameStation) in my area. I've had to tell people they might not get Nintendogs (even more so, a coloured DS) before christmas.

GAME expect a *tiny* amount of stock sometime in December, but when that's gone - it's gone. If you're after a DS bundled with Nintendogs, you might as well forget about it.

My guess would be people want what they can't have. If Nintendo continue to create more and more buzz about Nintendogs and kids keep screaming at parents for it, it keeps selling out as soon as shops get it, people talk more and the cycle continues.

Have a look at the Xbox 360 thread, it's like they're after Buzz Lightyear dolls or something.

i prefer the xbox360 advert to nintendo ones.

its too late for nintendo to change, but while geist looked to be an "older" game
the adverts for mario baseball, mario soccer whatever and mariokart ds feature really out of fashion kiddy cartoon characters. i mean the baseball advert looks like its aimed at 5 year olds.

sony as ever are advertising "nothing" with the psp. just a "style"

ea have as ever dedicated a badly reviewed game with a "available on gamecube" big splash end cut. they always do that with the poor games it seems.

oh well. at least there are games out there.

My sister and mum both want Pink Nintendo DSs for Christmas. It's looking increasingly unlikely.

(I got the last Buzz Lightyear in my town. It was a Woolworths display model.)
