Is there a site I can download the Nintendo Wifi USB installer off? (lost the cd in my junk of a bedroom) Because for some reason I have to re install the software every month because my wii and ds decide not to connect anymore.

Trying to hook up my 360 (Wireless networking adapter) to my Linksys Router...Not working.

Gets stuck when retrieving the IP address and such,...also gets stuck when entering the information manually. Any ideas? Looks like I just wasted £60.

Turn off SSID on your router and assign an IP address manually to your Xbox 360. Also check if there's any setting on your router blocking your Xbox 360 somehow, like MAC filtering or a firewall.

Can I use the nintendo wifi usb connector to connect my wii to the internet?

If so do I have to register it with the usb connector - and is it the same method as you do with your ds.

Exactly. Make sure the usb is plug in and the program is up and running.
When you go to connection settings on your wii - click on one of the connection tabs - Wireless connection - Nintendo WI FI USB connection.
Then go through the process.
At one point it should ask you to grant it permission on your computer. After you do that it should be fine.

Ive been trying to play Starfox and Metriod through WiFi. Ive put in all the settings from my computer, it takes 5 minutes to test the connection, then gives me an error code. Meanwhile on my computer an error message comes up saying there is an IP conflict. What can I do to play online?

WPA keys don't work with DS, you'll need to disable them or get WEP. Also, try going into your router settings and changing the channels to 1 or 11.

PLEASE HELP!

I'm new to the whole online thing so please excuse my lack of techincal knowledge.

I'm currently trying to connect my PC to my Nintendo Wii.

I'm running Windows XP Service Pack 2 a Neargear Wireless ADSL Modem Router DG843G.

Please can somebody guide me through an "idiots style guide" to how I get my Wii to access the router and allow me access the Online Channels and the virtual console.

Thanks in advance, would really appreciate any help

Sorry if this has been corrected before but I'm getting a new problem with the DS Wi-Fi.

It seems to happen with 42 all time classics and starfox so far.

I try to connect and a message comes up saying:
"You cannot access nintendo wi-fi connection using this user name. Please change your user name and connect again."

Does it mean the user name on my router or the user name on my DS?

I've also tried mario kart and final fantasy IIand they work fine online.

Edit* Argh it's alright. Didn't no that nintendo Wi-Fi doesn't let two people with the same name online. Damnit I've been on as "Bush" for ages :(

Is there any way to set up more than one wireless network on Belkin routers?

My Dad has one here at home which he uses for work, for whatever reason his company laptop will only connect to WPA wireless networks, so thats fine for connecting with Wii. But not so great for DS...

Hope theres a way to sort it otherwise gonna have to settle for getting a wireless dongle...

I have an ASUS WL-520g and it almost didn't even work with my DS. I headed up to the ASUS website, downloaded the most up to date firmware. Been happy with my DS and Wii ever since. Works 100% after the firmware update.

The USB Connector sucks and my router doesn't work with the DS, so this is how I have to play online:

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/8056/dsdz3.png (http://imageshack.us)

It is the only place it works and the DS usually say I have no connection(although I can still play online)

I'm just glad it works at all^^

OK, I am most annoyed!

I have a wireless network serving several PC's, laptops, PSP's, Nokia's and of course Nintendo DS's.

I am NOT prepared to change my wireless settings that currently work perfectly for everything except Pokemon Pearl.

My wireless access point is a 3com 3CRWE454G72.
My router is a 3com Officeconnect ADSL Remote 612.
I am also running a 3com Officeconnect Firewall 25.

I am due to change this setup to include a Lynxsys cable modem and an updated 3com firewall.

But, the problem I have is a strange one. I have 3 Nintendo DS's that are used regularly with Metroid Prime Hunters using Nintendo Wifi - with no problems. If I try and use them with Pokemon Pearl, with the same wireless settings, on ANY channel, I get error 51300 - which means the WEP key has changed. IT HAS NOT CHANGED!

Has anyone managed to get a solution to this problem? I telephoned Nintendo customer support and was kept waiting for over 30 minutes. Once connected to a human being I was told that the problem was not known and they did not have a copy of the game in order to test it!!!! I was asked to try the Wii site instead!!

Pokemon Pearl was purchased on the basis of the online play. If Nintendo do not get this working on our DS's then they are in breach of contract. It is not about getting money back, I want Pokemon Pearl working on Nintendo Wifi the same as Metroid Prime Hunters, which as I said above works fine.

I have noticed a very odd problem that has just appeared with my Wii. It wont connect to the internet anymore, when i try confirming the connection it either says 'cannot connect please check your settings' or 'no access point could be found' I just researched for my network server but it says it can't find it. I have checked the settings and my 360 is right next to my wii and it can pick up the access point fine....

Any ideas?

Ok, getting a wierd problem here.

I'm using a Netgear DG834GT and I've been online with my Wii plenty of times.

But all of a sudden the Opera Browser isn't connecting. I've got the new one downloaded and it's worked since I got it but all of a sudden it's just stopped.

The weird part is that in Wii settings it keeps telling me the connection was succesful so as far as the Wii is concerened the connection is fine but the browser says otherwise.

Any ideas?

Is it set to channel 1 or 11? I was getting a bad connection until I switched the router to channel 1. I have a netgearDG something I think, the one that you get with sky broadband.

Well you usually go into the router settings which is by typing 192.168.0.1.
then there should be a login procedure with user name and password which should be in your routers instruction manuel, if not look it up on the internet if nobody else in your family has already configured it.

ok, because I don't know much about routers this only applies to mine but I'm hoping yours has the same general twist.

Once you've logged in you should have a number of different tabs you can click on such as security, maintenence etc. what you are looking for is something called Wireless Settings.

On here you should see listed the Wireless Metwork Settings such as Name(SSID), region, channel and mode.

Mode should be on "g & b" and the channel should be on 1 (Mines was defaulted on 6 and everything sucked)

And that should be it, a warning though I am not a proffesional and have only worked this out through tinkering and following others advice, if you go through it and none of what I've said makes sense don't touch anything and get proffesional opinion as messing with router settings could seriously fuck things up. That being said hope it all works out for ya :)

Surely if any of this is seriously wrong then one of the tech heads on this forum will jump in and save the day.

Hey man thanks again for the help I tired it and I think it helped a tiny bit but this router is a piece of dogshit.

Can anyone recommend one that is actually any good? All I want is for it to go through two rooms.... I mean I thought that would be standard? Also is it possible for the computer that the router is connected to to still go online? I think I suck at this or something im literally desperate for help on this so any help will be much appreciated. :(

Weird problem.

2 DS's in my house, same internet configurations. One DS connects fine the other has been fine for about 2 months but now it says it is unable to obtain the IP address.

It's really confusing me I've checked all the DHCP settings but it shouldn't matter, if one DS connects then the other should. The WEP has been re entered numerous times on both DS's.

When watching the DS connected it is noted that it connects with full signal strength then gives up after about 5 - 10 secs. Then I get the error message.

EDIT Sorted. I just had to enter manually the details for my lil bro's DS. Must be something wrong with the DS retrieving DCHP info or something, still confuses me though why one would work and not the other.

Right I need some help getting my DS back online! I've moved back home and our set up means we can't use WEP so my router is WPA.... now how can I get my DS online? My home computer which is wired connection is a bit out the way for using a dongle plugged in into it. Now I connect to the wireless through my laptop using a wireless card, is there anyway to run Wifi for my DS off my laptop as thats the easiest computer to do it off....

Problem:

I input the exact same data as is in my DS wifi settings, into my mums' DS Lite wifi settings, yet, when testing connection it goes from red to green to red, and then complains about not being able to locate the IP. Yet on my DS (original) I can connect fine with said settings.

Do DS Lites have issues with wireless networks or what?

If you copied the exact same data to the other DS then you probably gave it the same IP address too. Two devices can't have the same IP address at the same time so you need to change it on one of them.

Example: If the IP is 192.168.1.10 change it to 192.168.1.20 or something similar.

Hope this helps you.

I didn't think you input the IP adress manually - at least mine doesn't, it finds it...but if it's a different ip adress, surely it won't connect to our box? Also, I've tried not having both on at the same time, but no such luck.

You said you copied the information so I though you entered the information through the manual option on the DS WFC menu.
Sorry, can't help you then.

Copy pasta from the other thread:

No, what you're trying to do is impossible AFAIK.
Maybe if your router has some kind of special function that allows it but I have never seen a router that has that ability before.

Hi well my wii used to connect to the net up until a week ago when i got a new tv and since then it wont connect which is most odd.

I can still connect via the pc so i dont think its anything to do with my wireless router.

I tried making a 2nd wireless connection on the wii to see if its a problem with the first one but cant remember my webkey.

Any ideas?

Sometimes it happens to me so i just delete the relvevant connection and re-enter in all the info. Very tedious but it works. So you are gonna have to find out the webkey for your router. Some programs store the key in such a way that you can read it, actually i think there is an option to unhide the webkey even if you are using windows to connect. Should be hidden in the wireless options somewhere

that code is supposed to take you to your router settings but i *think* it can differ between routers. You will need a password and username though to access these settings but those should be set to default unless you changed, and are sometimes written on the underside of the router and obviously, in the manual.

If you can't get the settings, then you can reset your router to factory settings but pressing and holding the reset button on the router for a few secs. But again, depends on the type of router.

or else you will DIE

Heh no problem! Happy to help! Usually happens wen you have multiple connections saved and do stuff like moving your wii to another house, thus moving it out of range of one router and into the range of another. When you bring it back, it seems to not work for no reason but re-entering the exact same details seems to work. Thought it was just me :heh:

At first my wii didnt pick up my Dlink DSL 624T router but after a firmware update it started picking it up. But sometimes it cant connect to router so I need to re-enter the details. As for the DS, mine doesnt seem to be compatible unfortunately. Older DLink routers seem to have this problem, so if yours seems like an old model, it may not be compatible. I dont think i can even find drivers for mine from the website anymore
