59-year old film writer and director John Hughes has died of a heart attack today. Best known for his films such as The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Home Alone amongst countless others.

That was a total shock. The man, without a doubt, shaped the teen genre as we know it today and was a huge influence on the 1980's.

Damn, yet another good person leaves this world. Can't believe i've seen 1/2 of the stuff he has written.
Why can't we have a few of the bad people dying off instead.

Noooo. I was actually thinking of watching Home Alone 2 today. Coincidence? I think not.
R.I.P, Mr. Hughes. You've done some pretty cool stuff that people will remember for a very long time.

Disgraceful.

I read he had become a recluse of sorts in recent years? I might be lying though.

Yep give Breafast Club a watch it is a great film, Weird Science was good in it's day but rather boring now.
Also I never knew he did Planes,Trains & automobiles another great 80's movie with John Candy and Steve martin.
Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors the list goes on.
