Rules:
3 points for a win
1 point for a draw
0 points for a loss
Everyone plays each other twice.
Top four teams after all games are played, qualify for the playoffs, 2 legged semi-finals,
with the winners going into the 1 legged final.
Fixtures can be completed in any order that suits you and your opponent.

..unfortunately, yes :hmm: I was hoping Konami could somehow improve the online aspect over the 2008 version but it is actually pretty much the same :indeed: ..the stuttering can really kill the game as it can be almost impossible to time challenges and sometimes you think you have the ball only to discover a few seconds later that you don't and the other team is moving in on goal :eek:

I have also had a game with darksnowman where he was ahead by a few goals, put a cross in and, all of a sudden everything froze but I could still click on players (even though nothing moved..). After a moment or two, the standard disconnected message came up and I wondered what was going on :hmm: Naturally, the 'snowman thought I was turning it off in rage as he says his game didn't stop and he scored a cracker from the cross (which I never got to see :sad:)

me and yesteryear tried to have a league game yesterday, both showing up online, both tried asking the other for a match, after about 6 attempts and the same message that it can't find the other player. we gave up.

WE WERE BOTH THERE!! why does it have to search for the other player.

Well after nearly 2 hours I've played 4 games. Thanks Konami. 4 good games when we got going though, I'm calling it a night on PES now, thanks lads and I hope the other games are less painful to set up. I'll be on tomorrow during the day if anyone else wants a game.

Edit... Bloody hell they were two VERY close games. Awesome stuff mate :) You were the first person to score past me using the classic controls and I was gutted when I had a man sent off in the 37th minute in the second game, you would have been through otherwise.

How anyone with a Wii WOULDN'T want to play it with the new Wii controls (which make it the best footy game ever) is baffling. Surely traditionally Fifa on the 360/PS3 is better than this with the classic controller....

I bought this game mainly to play the one player mode (champions road & master league) with the classic controller, not a fan of the defending in playmaker mode.
I don't have a PS3 or a 360 so thats my excuse.

Playmaker defense controls are hard; but give it time and they get much easier. Do you really not want to weep with joy at the football you can play in playmaker? The passing, the movement, slicing teams apart....?

Yeah Fifa 2009 (PS3) turned out to be abysmal outside of multiplayer and luckily I couldn't flog this. All is well in the world :indeed:

Yeah, I bought Fifa 09 Wii because 08 was pretty good and I thought they would improve it.... oh boy was i wrong!! I sold it and bought the PS3 version and actually thought it was really good, I still preferred Pro Evo 08 Wii but I liked all the modes and Be A Pro and stuff....sold it as soon as 09 came out though!!
