just to point out, the main use of the controller is likely not gyro based, but multiple sensors set within the device that the 2 stand alone sensors can detect the angles/tile etc of the controller
maybe a gyro is there to detect the tilt, but the gyro patents people have brought up relate to the gba games that use it, ala yoshi's universal gravitation
